shymexx: How can the former Chief Propagandist of Biafra write an objective book about the civil war??
It appears you can not learn even when the tutoring is done under your nose. Achebe did not act in the capacity as minister for Information in Biafra and was not the director of news.

I am not in the business of laud mouthing like few friends from certain part of Nigeria. However, the real son of the soil such as me can never be kidnapped in home town. If you slightly know my family background, you could save time insinuating.

tunnytox: Fair enough if you guys don't come back to whinge about how Yorubas fail to support you in your course. Go ahead and look for your alliance elsewhere.
It is an identifiable record on Nigeria’s history that Yoruba have never voted for Igbo candidate in any presidential election in Nigeria. Any Igbo peep who believes otherwise should be regarded as deluded.

I don't know why Igbos keep making more enemies for themselves especially politically. Are there only Igbo kidnappers in Nigeria? I have read countless stories about Yoruba, Ijo, Edo, Hausa, Ibibio, Itsekiri and Urhobo kidnapping each other yet one hardly reads craps from the peeps of these ethnicities publicly admonishing the members of the tribe in a manner suggesting such social decadence is limited to that ethnic group.
PoliticsRe: IGBO's Are You In Support Or Against Creation Of Biafra Republic? by Dede1(m): 7:04pm On Nov 10, 2012
youngdady: @ Eziachi & Dede1, like I said earlier, I don't do insult and I truly hope you can make a post devoid of bitterness, self-aggrandizement and your purportedly superior and misplaced logic.

Eziachi cited the current U.K-Scotland relationship as regards Scotland having a country of their own, he however failed to quote where Scotland declared the repuBlic of Scotland before entering a round table discussion with the U.K. . . ooops I forgot, thats not the due process. Can you say same for those declaring Biarfa republic before even agreeing to a referendum

As for you, Dede1, with my little understanding of IGBO Dede is associated with elderly or respected. You've not respecetd yourself or acted elderly as far as I can see. Be that as it may, please explain to me, when a group BZM, insist on having their own country just by waking up some day and declaring a republic without recourse to the aftermath of such action and another group (FG) is ready to vehemently oppose the actions of the first group(and rightly so) since due process wasn't followed even though FG COULD EASILY HAVE INVITED THE GROUP FOR DISCUSSION WHICH IT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DO OR NOT DEPENDING ON THE SINCERRITY OF BZM, does this not amount to war mongering huh

IF I SENSE INSULT IN YOUR RESPONSE I MIGHT BE FORCED TO IGNORE!!!
Let me inform you there is nothing worth thinking of someone’s moniker. If BZM woke one morning and declare independence, why must such action disturb anybody? Federal government does not own Nigeria but people do. In addition, when certain people who collectively have stake on the entity call Nigeria decide to leave the union, it is imperative to set them loose unless there is unavoidable fear lucking somewhere.

If the BZM could not handle problem that comes with a republic and start dying of hunger, all Nigerians own them is to say-I told you so. I think you will agree with me that it will be a display of idiocy if one should resort to violence to stop a roommate who has decided to seek accommodation someplace else.

If yarobas expect us to take seriously any opinion coming from urchins, whether educational urchins or street urchins, then they have a better chance of ressurrecting awolowo than being successful with their expectation.

shymexx: My debrief wasn't about Dr. Ozodi's knowledge of history, or lack thereof... He raised some points about Achebe's penchant for writing about himself in fictional form(citing Achebe's books to buttress his point) - and that obviously makes Achebe a narcissist...
I do not know the branch of medicine you studied, if any. However, it seems to me you do not understand the tern-narcissism as you have demonstrated and bent on qualifying novelist such as Achebe as narcissist. The goofy Ozodi Osuji does not know Achebe’s father and it will amount to act of foolishness for a person to make wild assumption on a person’s behavioral strata based on Osuji’s drivels.

shymexx: You haven't answered my question... Dr. Ozodi asserted that all Chnua Achebe's books are fictional narrations of the man's life experiences... And it seems the man is excessively preoccupied with writing about himself and forcing his point-of-view on everyone - and that obviously makes him narcissistic in a way...

No pun intended - I'm just asking questions...
I am not surprise that birds of the same feather flock together. Ozodi Osuji makes your day. However, he failed on every attempt to impress on historical facts. Even the University he claimed to have attended, he left his audiences such as you in limbo. It is no longer funny the extent the lapper seems to make a fool out of himself. I guess Osuiji does not know that Prof. Eyo Ita was not Efik and Achebe never headed Biafra's ministry of information.

@topic

This is another spate of literally idiocy from genetically handicapped Ozodi Thomas Osuji. An undiscerning onlooker, after reading this junk, will think Nigeria is different from Igbo land or Yoruba land or Hausa land. I can’t believe the shameless narcissist in Ozodi Thomas Osuji fails to understand when to shut up. Osuji's attempt on the 1953 history of eastern region of Nigeria uncovers the straits of low human intellects.

Why would anybody take Ozodi Osuij seriously when the self-acclaimed graduate of University of California still misses the corner on who headed Biafra’s ministry of information. What a moronic ninny.
PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland – Electoral Reforms And Other Matters by Dede1(m):
odumchi: Reading through some of the responses here, coupled with the controversial events of the previous election, have indicated [to me] that there needs to be a serious re-examination of the policy known as "forgiveness". I am naturally a liberal thinker and I see no need for everyone to think or act exactly the same way. What we, as a people, need is mutual understanding and tolerance of each other.

What I'm doing is not saying that one party is right or that the other is wrong. Instead, I am saying that we should grant each other the liberty to freely express ourselves in whatever ways we deem fit. Being Igbo does not mean that one must necessarily hold a certain political figure (like Ojukwu) in high esteem. Rather, what it means is that we should work harder to promote unity and progress amongst those that we identify with. At the same time, speaking recklessly about others shouldn't be encouraged either. I believe that this concept of "forgiveness" and "damnation" shouldn't be in place at all because as human beings we are all subject to the temptation of using such a power to accomplish personal aims. Besides, there is a saying that goes: Obasi olu kere nkpona kee kwa mgbei; meaning: the same God created both rich and poor men (we were all created equally). Having an unregulated and unchecked ability to excommunicate others is simply dangerous, in my eyes.

A possible resolution to this problem rests in the hands of the election's regulators. They, the tribunal, should make it a point to see that a standard set of [generally accepted and] fair laws is in place and that those laws remain inflexible and sturdy during the course of the election.

There are a few other things that I will bring to attention in a short while.
I guess the above post is genuine epitome of unfounded conflict among people who dwell under retrogressive canopy. I had been raised to understand that opinion begets opinions. This leads to one of cardinal laws in physics which is Newton’s third law of motion, thus, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. It is very human for a person to express an opinion and equally human for another person to bear counter opinion. It annoys me when the first person who bore a ridiculous or even wonderful opinion turns around accuses the second person who bore diametrically opposed opinion as an attacker.

It is a natural mandate that every human should bear an opinion. However, if someone bears opinion, he or she must remember there is someone next door who bears opposite opinion and it is moronic to feign victim of verbal or written attack.

Please this post is not meant to reject the underlined human attributes raised in the above post but to underscore them.

the most successfulcompanies in nigeria are heterogenous.

congo is one religion, not sure about tribe
ditto for somalia
Take away the federal government of Nigeria’s single-handed approach in building Lagos, the so-called Lagos state would have been a swampy piece of junk and part of Ogun State or Ijebu Ode State.

@OP

The answer to your question is YES. Nigeria would have been better with one tribe and religion.

Katsumoto: Dede1

You are making a few errors which must be corrected.

1. That others unconnected with Ogugua88 have engaged in fraud vis-avis setting up a health NGO doesn't mean she will do the same. For crying out loud, she should be commended for even envisaging about such a noble project.

2. She never stated or implied that all Igbo people are kidnappers; I think comprehension or mischief is the issue here. If 100 (guess) out of 35 million make the lives of 35 million - 100 miserable as a result of their kidnapping activities does it imply that the 35 million are all kidnappers. There are kidnappers in the Alaigbo and they are kidnapping Ndigbo; this is not a secret. So the young lady stating that point doesn't imply that she is denigrating Ndigbo

3. Someone who lives in the US, is aware of the scrounge of kidnapping, and is still contemplating setting up an NGO must be commended.

The problem is you let ethnic pride cloud your judgement
Please read my post carefully. The premise of Ogugua88’s rant was bordered on patriotism toward Nigeria. I applaud her for such intuitiveness. The issue of kidnapping has become a menace in Nigerian society and it is not limited to Alaigbo. I still wonder if her parents still live in Anambra State because according her graphic descriptions events about her father being nearly kidnapped, her father was taken to cleaners by armed robbers, sister was molested by hoodlums in her village and criminals in Igbo land have the knack to single out a freshly looking skin such as her.

I do not know this Ogugua88 character from the Adam and do not wish to know her. I have done much humanistic favor to my community and it will be childish on my part to flaunt it on a forum such as NL. If she wants to change Alaigbo into paradise, I say much grease to her elbows. However, if she has right to have opinions on NL, I guess other people deservedly have such right to bear opinions too.

Dede1 what are you going on about?
We are not here to insult the person of Ogugua.
The issue here is about her being fit for the position of Ezenwanyi or not, why are you making such derogatory comments about her?
Its not necessarily as if the comment she made is a blatant lie, the problem here is about her being diplomatic about it.
Oputara na ndi igbo anaghi eme kidnapping?
Ihe anyi na ekwu bu na dika onye ndu anyi.
okwesighi isonye ndi mba ozo ekwu udi okwu ahu against us, so please you might wanna take it easy with the insults.
Ogugua is a nice person and I know how you people go about your business on here especially in regards to other tribes, hence the reason I said Ogugua can't be what y'all expect of her, biko akpari zina nwa nmadu, not cool at all.
My sister, I am truly careless whether Ogugwu88 is Eze Nwanyi in Igbo land or NL. In addition, I am not bent on insulting anybody, talk less Ogugua88. However, it is unbecoming of an Igbo lady to denigrate Ndigbo in public and still wish to help them. Nobody disrespects someone he\she wishes to help. Igbo peeps would rather die of hunger than to feed from the hand of a person who denigrates them.

It is always imperative for a dancer to watch the antics of those who are urging the dancer to dance. There is always a motive behind the act of praise singing.
