turnstoner: Face book, GSM network etc didn't do anything illegal. But the pharmacists illegally sold a prescription drug to murderers and so they are culpable and no one can deny it sad
Illegal selling of prescription-only drug does not amount to conspiracy for murder. I have no qualms if the pharmacists were persecuted for selling prescription-only drug (not banned drug) over the counter, but have serious problem when the pharmacists are roped into a murder case as conspirators

You definitely are. Otherwise you won't advocate prison/death for someone for showing reasonable compassion in doing his legal biz. Why not ask that filling stations that sold fuel to eventual arsonists be prosecuted?

OK. FB owners should be charged along with those bastads(murderers) for murder, for providing d medium for interaction. Oh please add gsm service providers for victim & suspects.

Please I suggest you do not pay any mind to the loose bottom, Callotti. I guess Nigerian police should also add the proprietor of the hotel where the murder was committed to the list of suspects and conspirators.

Callotti: Hmmmmmmmm!
Thinking. . . .After careful deliberation. . . .
I think the pharmacists should be liable though. Even with valid prescription for legitimate concerns. . .the drug would have still found it's way in the hands of the criminally-insane. But no one should sell such a drug without a prescrition from a doctor. Both the owners of the pharmacy and the culpable employees should face life sentences! Period.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrantus Nonsensicus!!! cheesy
The careless actions of these so-called OKIJA pharmacists led to the brutal death of a young lady.

arguing with you is like arguing with a five year old!

The establishment and functions of the National Council on Privatisation as provided for in Sections 9(11) of the Privatisation Act are as follows:-
(1) There is hereby established the National Council on Privatisation (in this Act referred to as "the Council"wink.
(2) The Council consists of:-
a) the Vice President, as Chairman;
b) the Minister of Finance, as Vice Chairman;
c) the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice;
d) the Minister of Industries;
e) the Secretary to the Government of the Federation;
f) the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria;
g) the Chief Economic Adviser to the President;
h) four other members to be appointed by the President; and
i) the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (2) of this section, the Council may co-opt the supervising Minister of an affected public enterprise to attend relevant meetings of the Council.

AFTER READING THE ACT YOU M.ORON, WHO LOOKS LIKE A FOOL NOW?
Olodo, I do not need to argue with you even if there is 1 million dollars to be taken home. It seems you still do not understand the proofs you floated. Even section 3 stated the Council, not the VP or Chairman, may co-opt the supervising Minister of an affected public enterprise to attend relevant meetings of the Council. Now the Minister is not even mandated to attend the meetings unless the council elects to invite. From your post, the VP does not even have power to invite a minister to a meeting.

I know you are a blockhead but please try understand there is a standing protocol within the presidency.

Solape Ademulegun-Agbi
Thirty-eight years after, the ghost of the January 15, 1966 coup of the “five-majors” is yet to be exorcised.

The daughter of Brigadier-General Samuel Ademulegun, the then GOC Ist Division, Kaduna, has narrated how Nzeogwu made her and her siblings orphans during the ill-fated coup. Today, Mrs. Solape Ademulegun-Agbi, proprietress of Hillcroft Schools, may be a fully-grown woman. But the trauma of having both parents shot in her presence has left an indelible mark. Reacting to a story captioned, Return My Son’s Body, Nzeogwu’s Mother Begs Obasanjo, recently published in Saturday Sun, Ademulegun-Agbi said that Nzeogwu’s mother wanted her son to be treated as a hero, whereas he could actually pass as a villain.

But her sores were made the more painful when she recalls that Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was a welcome guest who always relished a meal of pounded yam any time he came calling at the Ademuleguns.
She spoke to Daily Sun. Excerpts:
General Ademulegun
My dad is everything you would love in a father. Very caring, hardworking and dedicated. He was in love with horse-riding and he made sure I owned one. I named my horse Santana. I used to ride Santana to school in those days, so when the Volkswagen Santana came into the market, it really brought back memories of those days. As a typical Ondo man, my dad was fond of eating pounded yam with the full complement of cow-leg. Generally, he was a wonderful father who more often than not, hoisted me on his broad shoulders. These are some of the memories that have kept me going all these years.
The 1966 coup
My parents, Brigadier-General Samuel and Hajia Latifat Ademulegun were killed during the 1966 coup. That particular experience was quite traumatic and I have never been able to overcome it. At a point, I had phobia for anything military. My dad was the then General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1st Division, Kaduna and his army number was N3 which makes him the third highest-ranking officer in the Nigerian Army. Major Nzeogwu was a welcome guest in my parents’ home. He will always come to our house for steaming hot meal of pounded yam. Being Ondo State indigenes, pounded yam was a regular meal in my mother’s kitchen. On the day of the coup, Nzeogwu came calling with some other soldiers in the wee hours of the day. I think they were about six soldiers. As an impressionable young girl of six, that was quite a number. There were guns everywhere. I remember vividly that I was down with chicken pox, so I had the opportunity of sleeping in my parents’ room. My immediate younger brother was also sleeping soundly in a cot in the same room. But when Nzeogwu came in, there was little talking. I even called him uncle, but he was the one that shot my mother in the chest. She didn’t die immediately, but she was rolling on the floor, gasping and bleeding. With the last ounce of her breath, she was calling “Kole, Kole” (my immediate elder brother whose room was nearby). But my brother never heard because he hid under his bed when the gunshots were booming. I don’t know who killed my dad because he was dragged out of the bedroom. The batman, who was in the boys quarters polishing my dad’s shoes, and our housemaid, one Gbelle, shepherded us out of the bedroom. These memories are ever so green in my heart. A child remembers bad things more than the good.
Life after the coup
We were really devastated by the events that took place, but the Army rallied round us. Major-General Aguiyi Ironsi’s wife came and took us away from the house. From there we were taken to Lagos. The military catered for our upkeep right to our first degree in the university. Since then, we have not fared badly. My elder brother, Group Captain Frank Ademulegun, now deceased, was the only one who joined the armed forces. My other siblings are doing well both in private and government circles. The military officials and the Ondo State government really tried for us. I also give them a pass mark for immortalising my father’s name. My dad has a street named after him in Abuja and the Ikeja Cantonment. There is also a cenotaph in his honour in Ondo Town. At an auspicious time, we plan to chronicle a biography of our parents.
Nzeogwu and family
I am not supposed to harbour grudges as a Christian. But the fact will always remain that Nzeogwu was instrumental to the death of my parents in the ill-fated coup. Nzeogwu's mother wants to portray her son as a hero, while in some quarters the word villain is actually apt. I don’t know what the hue and cry is all about. The government too buried my parents. I actually commend the government for burying him (Nzeogwu ) since he died in active service, so to say. Now, we are talking of exhuming a body some 30 years after. It is ridiculous. The family should let sleeping dogs be. Nzeogwu’s mother should just relax, hoping for a re-union with her son some day, if such a thing is tenable in the spirit world. I think we should just move on. We have the retrogressive penchant of dwelling too much in the past.
Military rule
A lot of shine has been taken off the military. In the past, the military man was someone to be admired, a gentleman to the core, one to be emulated. But things are no longer the same these days. To me, it doesn’t matter who rules as far as there is safety of lives and property; freedom of speech and movement. Democracy is good, but it comes with its own problems. During the military regime, there was sanity in the land. Things were done right with military precision. But since it is a mark of civilisation to be democratic, then so be it. But to me, it doesn’t really matter who rules as far as the machinery of government is oiled effortlessly to the benefit of all citizens.
I tried to resist the temptation of this thread but found it irresistible due to the conjectural falsehood disseminated by the shameless characters that are bent on sitting the truth on its head. Right of the bat of the first paragraph, anybody with organized social order above his/her shoulders would realize the crap is a handiwork of a moronic interloper and misguided ninny. Samuel Ademulegun was not a Brigade-General because when he was alive such rank does not exist in Nigeria’s military parlance. Also, Samuel Ademulegun was never a GOC of 1st Division Nigerian army, Kaduna. Rather, Samuel Ademulegun was 1st brigade commander of Nigerian army stationed in Kaduna.

If the writer of this crap could not get the commonest facts correct, why in the world should any reasonable fellow believe the conjectural crap that Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu ate bounded yam in Samuel Ademulegun’s house? In addition, I have no intention to question the jolted memory of Solape Ademulegun-Agbi however the recorded accounts of incidences of January 15, 1966 coup clearly indicated that Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was not tasked to arrest Brigadier SL Ademulegun and was not 100 ft near Ademulegun’s house but Sarduana of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello who was then premier of northern region of Nigeria.

I have resourcefully gathered that the task to arrest Brigadier SL Ademulegun was the responsibility of another officer other than Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu. When will all these nonsensical calls for attention end? There was the case of fabricated fallacy of Lt Col Francis Fajuiyi begging to die with Major General T Ironsi and now the above junk.

torkaka: "The executive functions of the Nigerian vice president includes participation in all cabinet meetings and, by statute, membership in the National Security Council, the National Defence Council, Federal Executive Council, and the Chairman of National Economic Council. Although the vice president may take an active role in establishing policy in the Executive Branch by serving on such committees and councils, the relative power of the Nigerian vice president's office depends upon the duties delegated by the president."

NOW YOU FOOL, THE VICE PRESIDENT WAS DELEGATED BY THE PRESIDENT TO CHAIR THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON PRIVATISATION! I AM NOT GOING TO WASTE MY TIME EXPLAINING WHAT DELEGATION OF DUTIES MEAN TO AN OBVIOUS DAFT COCONUT HEAD!
It is only a blind dingbat such as you will construe a delegated function to chair a meeting as a privilege to walk out minister from a meeting or even bar an aide without presidential protocol. I do believe the VP is not a classified blockhead such as you.
Politics › Re: Namadi Sambo, Sacked Nnaji, GEJ Did Not. by Dede1(m):
take dat: the council on privitization(NCP),has on its board ministers,BPE DG and other top govt functionaries with the VP as its Chairman.The President as delegated the VP to oversee all its activities and the VP in turn reports back to the GEJ.The VP has the right to walk him out in the process of bidding since the allegation of conflict of interest hangs on Nnaji's head. For example, the MD can work a manager out of a meeting irrespective of either he was the one who employed him directly or not.
The issues around the presidency and relationship between the VP and ministers are not child’s pranks or Alaba Market price discussion. Such issues are buried in the fine lines of the constitution and official protocols. If there is a mere rumor about any minister or head of any governmental agency, the presidency will setup an investigation. Also, the principal officer involved may or may not be informed about the depth of the investigation. In addition, in a proper presidential protocol, the principal officer will be confronted with facts about investigation. At this junction, the minister may choose to resign to avoid further embarrassment, if any, or the presidency may decide to support the minister.

It is rather a jaundice rascality for anybody to remotely insinuate that the VP “walked a minister out of a meeting”. It is a nonsensical postulation that defers any presidential protocol. A fist fight could easily ensure if VP chooses to reduce his/her position to the level of walking a mere aide out of office talk less a minister with portfolio. Again, if the meeting was a bidding process, which it was not, the VP has no right to walk an ordinary man who is a government certified bidder out of the bidding process talk less a minister. The office of VP is not a SUYA Spot where the VP walks peoples out of his/her office.

I can not simply fathom what I have read about Nnaji’s resignation from some goons on this forum. When does resigning any appointment on slight instances of conflict of interest turn into a fraud? In USA, a mere head of governmental agency will resign on a slight indication of conflict of interest.

B Nnaji did the honorable thing by resigning his position due to an assumed conflict of interest and suddenly tribal irredentists turned such act into tribal bashing.

The management of Cosmilla Hotel in Lagos, where the late Miss Cynthia Udoka Osokogu was murdered by some men she met on Facebook, has sacked all the staff of the hotel that were on duty, the day of the murder.

The hotel, which is located at Lake View Estate, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos State, is said to have a tradition of ‘proper screening’ of its guests at the point of checking-in, by demanding valid identification of prospective guests.

The front-desk officer was said to have breached the established procedure, paving way for difficulty in identifying the body of the deceased as her attackers had taken away all items that could assist in identifying her.

The hotel rules demand that guests must present their ID cards or passport before given a room in the hotel.

The fake identities of the suspects had made it difficult for the police at Area ‘F’ Command to quickly solve the murder riddle.

Although only two of the suspects were paraded before journalists at the Lagos State Police Command, two others, Orji Osita and Maduako Chukwunonso, who were the pharmacists that sold the drug, used to sedate the late Cynthia, were on Monday, arraigned before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court with the main suspects.

The case is adjourned to the 3rd of October.

The Delta State-born victim who met her untimely death is set to be buried September 7.

the blame culture is getting tedious now - the evil should be blamed, not the victim!
I can not fathom how cavalierly you tend to sound on this blunder committed by Cynthia. Is it not prudent to watch and study your new friend for weeks or months before carelessly eating out of his or her hands? I guess you can now realize that the so-called new friend was not a friend after all. Human nature is filled to the brink with evil doers.

coogar: i don't need a strict rule if the intentions of my associates are pure - you have grown so used to the society that blames the victim all the time. the fact remains cynthia could have been killed anywhere - so blaming her for going to lagos to meet strangers is not the reason why she died - she died because she was tied, tortured and molested!

so you think the only reason you are still alive was because you were smart or the people you met had no intention of killing you? cynthia could have been killed in her own house. look at the modus operandi - she was drugged and that could have happened even in the cab taking her to the hotel! if the intention is to kill, no one is safe in nigeria be it hotel, market, school, church, home or anywhere!
You seem to be alienated from avoidable blunders. Granted anybody could be killed anywhere, there is always a rule of thumb which could readily extricate a person form tight corners. Drinking from a cup or bottle offered by a fellow she had met via social media or Internet is a dumb step. I do not think the killers of Cynthia would have forced her to drink poison in public transportation. However, it could be different stanza if she was cornered in hotel room by more than a man.

Given the amount of times that you have wrong, it is almost difficult for any rational mind to accept your account. Second, the write-up was written a couple of weeks after the fall of Owerri and it would have been difficult to make such a bold-faced lie at the time. Unless you were stationed at the Bridge at that time and have a picture to support your claim, then I am tempted to believe the writer.

For instance, you boldly stated that Tomoye, Innih, and Isemede were not involved in the capture of Owerri; so what do you have to say about the text below? Let me guess, another goofy writer who doesn't know his ar.se from his elbow?

In time to come, the 16th Brigade was reinforced, refitted and refurbished, and returned to combat duty near the Ohaji palm plantation and along the Umu Nelu-Umuakpu-Owerri road.
On January 9, 1970, Owerri was captured once again – for the last time, this time in an all out assault by the 12 Brigade under Captain Isemede, 17 Brigade under Major Tomoye and 13 Brigade under Major Innih - and the war brought to an end.

With regards to your comment about Yoruba and other minority groups populating the 3MCDO, I don't believe anyone has ever doubted that they were in the army before the onset of the war and as such were duty bound and that they joined the Army en-mass after the Biafran debacle in the Mid-west and Ore.

I had hoped by now you should have realized my stands on certain publications carried by obscured media backgrounds. I knew there were elements of 17th and 12th brigade of 3MCDO which were tasked to protect the right flank of 14th, 16th and 19th brigades during the federal’s final push to capture Owerri. I also did know these combined elements of 17th and 12th were under the command of Major Tomoye. In addition, there were combined elements of 12th and 17th under the command of Captain Isemede tasked to link up with elements of 1st Division at Umuahia. 13th brigade under Major Innih and 18th under Lt Col Abubakar were to clear Ohafia and Arochukwu respectively.

The capture of Owerri was tasked to 14th, 16th and 19th under the command of Majors Oni, Utuk and Aliyu respectively. Also, I resourcefully learnt that 15th brigade under Captain Iluyomede was tasked to secure Oguta and protect the left flank of 16th brigade.

At least, you can fathom from the above scenario that a brigade commander who was task to link up with federal elements at Umuahia and Arochukwu can not at the same capture Owerri.

coogar: this is ridiculous!
the murder victim was a fool for trusting people she met via online for a business discussion? let me guess - she tattooed "i am available to be raped and murdered" on her forehead! i am deeply disappointed in some nigerians - some of you are animals with no bone of compassion in your body - which explains why this incident even occurred anyway.....the victim has no blame in this and if the society is so screwed up that we cannot meet strangers again in a public place then nigeria as a country is doomed!
I would have appreciated if you could name a place on earth where a person meets someone via online and go ahead to engage on blind date without serious consequences talk less of business with huge cash. I had wished the Cynthia Osokogu is still alive even after the ordeals so as to realize the gravity of blunder she committed. Please I pray you to keep engaging fellows you met via online in business matters and in hotel rooms of all places.

Katsumoto: Dede1 - The Biafran Minister of Propaganda and Obfuscation

Why are you deliberately mixing up events?

The write-up is not referring to the initial capture of Owerri in September 1968, the Biafran encirclement of Owerri which commenced in December 1969 and resulted in Etuk's units being encircled within Owerri, nor is it referring to Etuk's April 1969 brave and successful breakout from Owerri after 4 months of being encircled. The write-up is referring to the second and last capture of Owerri (OBJ's Operation Tail-wind) in January 1970 under Tomoye, Isemede, and Innih which also concluded the war.

Second, we are not surprised at your attempts to discredit literature which doesn't favour Biafra.
Sometimes, I am tempted to pay no mind to the nonsensical and conjectural craps planted on the forum as they relate to Ndigbo and Biafra by deceitful turncoats from southern Nigeria. But to do such thing is to allow falsehood to become a de facto truth. Anybody who knows anything about Owerri sector of the Britain\Biafra war will agree that after dispersal of federal troops from Owerri in 1969, certain sections of the sector still remained in the federal hands.

The Imo River bridge at Owerrenta was damaged during initial federal push to capture Owerri in 1968, recaptured by Biafrans in 1969 and remained damaged because the eastside of the Imo River at that point remained in the federal hands while westside partially remained in the Biafran hands. In addition, areas from Obokwe and Ngor Opkuala to Ugba Junction were battle fronts and no-man’s lands.

Given the above seaniro, one wonders where the goofy author of the idiotic article got the idea of refugees crossing already damaged bridge during 1968 push to capture Owerri which had not been repaired due to gun battles and snipers fire. Even during the so-called “operation tail wind”, remarks were made that the elements of 12th joined the 14th brigade to launch attack on Biafran position in Obokwe on January 7, 1970. It must be recall the elements of 12th brigade that were based in Azumiri did not cross Imo River at Owerrenta but Odagwa\Owaza in order to link up with 14th brigade at Chokocho.

It is good to read from a tribal propagandist such you to admit that 3MCDO was populated by the Yoruba and minority groups from southern Nigeria. By the way, Majors Tomoye, Innih and Captain Isemede were not involved in the capture of Oweeri on January 9, 1970.

Cynthia Osokogu was the biggest fool in the circumstance that led her death. In addition, the Cynthia’s death is a damning indictment on the manner in which she was raised by her parents.

It is quit unfathomable a young lady will depart from home and travel more than 500 mile to meet with a male counterpart she has not met before this journey to a hotel of all places. What has happened to our social life as mandated by our culture and tradition?

Yoruba peeps seem to fall for anything that has negative connotation about Ndigbo or Biafra. Sometimes I am deliberately amused by the moronic display of these jackasses that pass as Yoruba. I am disturbed by the show of intent to flaunt your stupidity on the Internet but pray you to desist from joining Ndigbo and Biafra to the buffoonery.

The citing of a newspaper article captioned “Doctor Sees Biafrans Blowup Refugees” in order to satisfy their daily hunger to display moronic stupidity is a documented example. The sad article was written by a correspondent in Lagos for newspaper based in a country that fought alongside with Nigeria and in this, Australia, for Sidney Morning Herald.

Anybody with a dot size of the brain should not cite such as rubbish to bolster a lame argument. The article mentioned the bridge was blown up on the “Christmas Day killing 12 out 90 refugees on it”. Also the article indicated the bridge was “blown up when Biafran soldiers could not stop the stream of Ibo refugees as troops of Federal Third Marine Commando Division advance on Owerri”.

I knew propagandists are very smart people but it appears Yoruba ones are regrettable dumb. It was on September 16, 1968 that Owerri fell into the hands of the element of 16th brigade of 3MCDO. The brigade did not advance to Owerri from Aba but Port Harcourt through Elele and Obirinze. It is only in minds of foolish Yoruba propagandist that Christmas Day appears in the month of September.

It is funny the so-called doctor stuck around to witness gun battles between two armies and had the comfort to count the number of refugees killed when the bridge was blown up. It should be recall that 14th brigade under Major George Inninh crossed the bridge at Owerrenta but did advance pass Ugbe Junction. Major Georg Ininih’s brigade was scattered and pushed back to Chokocho and never was a factor in protecting the flanks of 16th brigade of Etuk which was encircled in Owerri.
