A mother duck has been captured in a set of adorable pictures caring for no less than 76 ducklings – and despite the size of the brood, her feathers remain unruffled.

The remarkable images of the common mergansers were captured by Brent Cizek at Lake Bemidji, in Northern Minnesota, the photographer’s home state.

The 32-year-old told MailOnline Travel: ‘From what I've been told, this is a common practice among common mergansers.

‘Mergansers will dump their eggs into multiple nests, so when they incubate they have eggs from other mothers in the same nest.

‘However, they can only incubate up to 20 eggs. So while some of these chicks may be hers, it's not possible for all of them to be from her.

‘She likely picked them up from other mothers when the ducklings got separated and it's also possible that she is caring for all of the babies on the lake.

‘There is greater odds for survival if the brood is much larger.’

At first Mr Cizek counted 50 ducklings in tow, then on another trip to the lake he counted 76. In one picture he managed to capture 56 ducklings following the mother.

When he posted his images of them online they quickly went viral.

Twitter user Hannah J Waters commented: ‘Is there anything sweeter in the universe?

‘Adult ducks can’t tell which birds are theirs, and lost young birds that have already imprinted on their own mothers will instinctively start following another common merganser because she looks like mom.’

Gwendolyn G Bieschke wrote 'real men shoot ducks with cameras!' and Beverly Jones said 'this is just magnificent'.

I had thought that love has bigger roles to play in marriage. I was wrong. I got married at 36 when I thought I had seen someone who loved me.

While dating, I was not spending money on her because she has a job and was not complaining. I ride okada for a living, hoping to go into a business soon. She has money in her bank account, but said she's saving for raining days. Anytime she wants to perform online banking, I do it for her. Two days ago, I wanted to buy data, I transferred money from her account to the seller, brought out the money and told her seller accepts bank transfer and I don't want to go and queue in the bank for lodgement. I would have informed her first, but she was busy attending to visitors and her phone was with me. She was angry and said "I will change my password." I replied that the only favor she did me was saving my journey to the bank. She said if she has cash in hand, she would be tempted to spend it. So, it's me that should not have savings?

I don't feel like having sex again, because of the depression and she is now angry that I'm turning her down. Now I'm planning to leave home and return whenever my situation improves. She can cope because she has enough money.

Why the financial pressure on me is too much is that we are both 36 years old and friends keep trouping to our house to wish her well. As a man that manages resources, I entertained guests from my family once for the past two months we got married because it's not my town but hers. She keeps asking me for money to entertain guests. Some friends made it a habit of visiting twice weekly, while she keeps showing me off. When she asked for money for food yesterday and I told her I had no money, she has been moody since then, thinking that I'm hiding money from her.

This was a woman, that, last week, when I said I couldn't afford a particular asoebi that only concerns me because it's costly, went to the market, bought it, and took it to my tailor. Judging from her recent actions, I won't wear that cloth except I'm able to refund the money.

It's obvious you guys didn't court long enough and rushed to get married. The woman behaved very well in order to convince you to marry her as she was tired of going to MFM all the time and wanted to be called a wife so badly. There are many of them out there. Even the young ones. Marriage is like life goals that's hard to achieve and a competition. Lol.

It baffles me when people decides to take a path in life that leads to condemnation. Social media today is engulfed with all kinds of unwholesome activities. Many are at the crossroads of life because of what they have imbibed from social media. The negative impacts of social media has reduced the spiritual strength of many.

There is a trending petition on major social media platforms about a Nigeria lady whose name is Mayowa Olaiya, based in the UK who is currently mobilizing signatures on Change.org from people mostly UK residents asking them to sign a petition to ban Rev Funke Adejumo from entering the United Kingdom.

The mobilization of people online to sign the useless petition she created three days ago was sponsored by Pastor Sunday Adelaja and Daddy Freeze who are both attackers and unrepentant critics of pastors in Nigeria. Mayowa Olaiya who has been living in the UK for some years now is the spiritual daughter of Pastor Sunday Adelaja and she represents Pastor Sunday Adelaja in the UK.

Why are they fighting a woman of God? Why did Mayowa availed herself to be used by the devil?. Their grievance is that Rev Funke Adejumo always ask people to sow a seed whenever she ministers. She even went ahead to rain abuses on a woman of God by calling her all sorts of names like "Woe-woman." I stand to say without mincing of words, that the nonsense petition against the woman of God urging the UK government to ban her from entering the UK will never see the light of the day, it will be an effort in futility. Top American preachers like Mike Murdock and Co, now collects seeds from people via credit cards and bank transfers why didn't Mayowa and her conspirators petition the UK government that Mike Murdock is fake? Is it because Rev Funke Adejumo is a Nigerian?

Daddy Freeze who claims to know the word of God more than Jesus Christ who is the word has never for once spoken against the Fulani Herdsmen who are killing Christians in the middle belt and he claims to be fighting for the liberation of Christians in Nigeria. He has never for once mobilize people to speak or sign a petition against the ills of governance, is this not foolishness on his part?. It is an insult on my salvation for Daddy Freeze to be the one who will teach me the right way to live as Christian.Daddy Freeze is a divorcee, who drinks and commits adultery with Benedicta Elechi (girl friend) who has a baby for him whilst still in her matrimonial home. A morally and spiritually bankrupt fellow like Daddy Freeze is who many Nigerians mostly youths take as spiritual counselor.

Pastor Sunday Adelaja, a.k.a the perfect pastor "The man who fell from Grace to grass" will not say that he is bereft of the happenings in Nigeria. Have you ever seen him speak against the government?

It is disheartening for me to see Pastor Sunday Adelaja rant on social media, attacking churches and calling out pastors. Adelaja who used to be a voice in Europe, former pastor of Europe's largest church which boasts of over 30, 000 members now spends most of his time on social media listening to the messages of Nigerian pastors in other to pick holes from their messages then come to social media to attack them. How did Pastor Sunday Adelaja get to this lowest ebb of spirituality? This is what i can't comprehend.

I have original copies of the letter which his former spiritual father wrote him from the US stating that he is no longer going to father him because of the shenanigans that transpired in his Church in Ukraine which made the church council to oust him. Also, I have an audio clip about him which an undercover who posed as a preacher made. I will release it in my next article; it will shock you.
