Business / Re: Cletus Ibeto Signs Financing Agreement With Milost Global by deenee: 9:13am On May 25, 2018
Nodogragra4me:

Is it due diligence of Milost or the Nigerian companies?

One great secret from your post is that Milost have been trying to gain a foothold here in Nigeria and Ibeto seems like a game already from the story

On both sides, for example they signed a 1 billion dollar deal with unity bank asking them to delist from the Nigerian stock market based on desk top due diligence alone! They also engineering the pump and dump stock trade for japaul oil recently costing Nigerian investors losses amounting to billions of naira.

I suggest you search the internet for news on several botched Nigerian deals from them

Also it's easy to sign commitment documents which is what is has been done in this case but execution which I doubt will happen is the main thing.

As I mentioned earlier let's watch and see.

Solstar:
This is a great strategic Foreign Direct Investment that will be beneficial to the growth index of Ibeto asset class on the long term. Equity Partnership with a USA publicly traded corporation is a win-win standard for Emerging Markets unlike Dangote's foray into the global stock market as a local brand from a third world country. There are no assurances on such ventures irrespective of business acumen as major players will erode every progress made. Every grounded investor with the understanding of international play knows the underlying fundamentals. I have mostly questioned Dangote's understanding of global business terrain when it comes to Wall Street.

On the growth curve, corporations from emerging markets must loose irrespective of the financial mechanics of the rampaging bull or bear coming out of hybernation if any one follows Dangote's template.

Regarding Ibeto, this is the first time I have seen a Nigerian business make a strategic win-win move. I just hope the deal structure is based on convertible bonds to ensure Long Term capacity building and profiteering.

I give this a thumps up.

As usual you have used alot of big grammar with plenty financial terms that are incoherent and mean nothing but will of course brain wash a lay man.

Tell me how covertible bonds, long term capacity building and profiteering(which has a negative conotation)all fit into one sentence.

Back to the matter, for those who follow news well, Milost has been in the new recently for all shades of bad!

They tried to invest in japaul oil, unity bank and even resort savings but the transactions didn't scale through as there were issues around due diligence bordering on the investor. Some even say that Milost is a conduit pipe for money laundering just as they have said same for the online trading platforms like jumia and konga

I don't have much details about the deal yet but let watch and see as events unfold

The mistake G world wide made was them not reviewing the contract. Obviously kizz Daniel has grown pass the stage he was when he signed the contract. As a business man emperor geezy should be reviewing the contract every 6 month to 1 year for both of them to have a mutual understanding and to avoid chaos. He greedily avoided reviewing of contract cos he was exploiting kiss daniel.

He didn't exploit kiss Daniel or whatever his name is now!

We need to stop been sensational with news.

Kiss Daniel has two houses one in lekki and one in ABK and four cars all of which he got while he was still with the record label. The 30k salary was his fixed feeding allowance when they first signed him in addition to an annual fixed sum for clothing, free 3bedroom apartment in ogudu and then later lekki and free car which they changed for him after two years.or is it from the 30k that he bought all the clothes he was wearing, the houses and the cars?

And he got all of these even before woju his chart toping single was released.

What about his album launch that cost the label about 50m to organize?

I understand that too. But who tries to kill the goose that lays the golden egg? Let's assume his initial contract pays him 30k and he start piling 2million a month,. Yes his contract insists he owns nothing of it but what should d label do? Review his contract or assume he will just stay. Don't also forget he won a court case. So his departure was cool enough. Imagine many people out there earning way more the him. Chai. Abegi. If you were him, what would you do?

Who told you that he won a court case?

He settled out of court and agreed to make a lump payment and also pay royalty on gigs spread over a period.

Contract is a contract the record label also took a risk.

AMCON was setup to take over Igbo businesses. Otedola, Dangote, Adenuga all owe billions of dollars but it's only Igbo businesses they target their assets...Ifeanyi Ubah, Nwankwu Kanu, Stella Oduah, more. Cocharis, Ibeto and Innoson are next. As I right now, they are plotting with that Afonja bank to confiscate Nextsoil skyscraper in Lagos. They conniving with banks to carry out their evil on Igbos, just like Innoson case where the bank criminally inflated their loans, then turn around to ask court to freeze Innoson goods and assets, with hope of ultimately involving AMCON. Igbo business men and women have no clue the amount of evil these people have for them.

Afonjas above and below are already happy. They enjoy to see Igbos in pain and misfortune. To them that's the only way to stop Igbo since they cannot compete with the chosen children of God.

All business thrive on debt. The problem arises when people borrow and refuse to pay back.

Otedola's business assets were also siezed by Amcon and he had to sell alot of his personal assets to repay including his private jet and second yatch.

Dangote obligations are up to date, same for adenuga. Jimoh Ibrahim is in the same boat with your fellow igbo brothers and is facing th same fate as them.

If you are following the story well without bias, you will know that they have been trying to get her to pay down since 2012 which is like 6 years from today and she has refused yet the business is still a going concern expanding and acquring trading assets all over the country. She even has two tank farms that are still functional. Imagine that she was paying down 2b per year since 2012 she would have paid like 12b now but she just refused. Even the benefits from her senator work in quote can materially cover the repayments

Pls don't whip up any tribal sentiments here. Ifeanyi uba came to the capital market in 2006-2007 to raise about 50b for capital oil and gas. The ipo was over subscribed and he raised about 75b, got listed on the NSE when Ndi Okereke was MD of NSE (fellow igbo sister) and has only published annual reports like three times since his listing in 2009. Now tell me what did he do with the money raised from public investors like you and i. Yet he wants to bcome gov of a state, same with stella oduah

Get your facts right before posting trash.

I don't mean to sound rude but knowing Toke for who she is which is an attention seeker, I am tempted to say that she is just up to her usual antics again. Other wise I wish her the best of luck and will include her in my prayers.

2.We need anything between $300-900billion to get light 24/7.

3.Privatization means that you pay more from your pocket.

4.We have to pay our bills...and let's be frank...we pay bills lower than countries like Ghana...who pay twice as much as we do.

The fact that they keep changing the rules every 2-3 months to the detriment of such SMEs, does not interest you? Everyone can see how glaring your hypocrisy is. Abeg, swerve!

I made a big mistake joining issues with you. So if an existing rule does not work they should not change it. So because boi is trying to ring fence the transaction to reduce the risk they are now incompetent. Ask your self what happened to the cbn msme fund. Anchor borrowers for farmers commercial agric guarantee scheme. Nigerians are very bad borrowers and this is the reason why most intervention funds dont work. We have only heard one side of the story why not hear from boi before trying to drag them down?

What then will you say about this independent opinion which I just stumbled across:

"There is massive corruption in the Federal government's Bank of Industry (BoI). The fraud runs into billions of naira. The Bank not only trades with cheap government funds meant to support industries and industrial development in Nigeria, it is also defrauding Nigerian industrialists of their hard earned earnings.
If in doubt, the federal government should direct its public service monitoring agency, the Servicom, to ask for a comprehensive listing of all loan applications approved by the BoI and see what percentage of the supposed loan approvals for industries, were ever disbursed within even six months. It should be noted that these are businesses which are qualified and have been duly adjudged, so by the Bank, which goes ahead to collect as much as 14% of the approved loans in upfront cash, but never disburses for as long as two years, without any reasons.
What is worse, is that apart from funds from the federal government through the Central Bank, the BoI is also collecting billions of naira from state governments across the country, for partnership funding for business expansion for small-scale industries in the states and for years, not a dime of such funds are disbursed to any intended beneficiary. The pertinent question may be, who is benefiting from the difference between the five to 10% supposed interest rates to SMEs and the 25% to 35% interest rate commercial Banks are apparently rationing out the funds meant for long term investments for hundreds of businesses, as massive short term loans, to a handful of traders and importers of finished goods.
As a result of this large scale development banking fraud, the economic recovery projections of the government will always be wide off mark. Virtually all federal government ministries and the government's economic indices monitoring agencies, will be basing their economic growth projections on funds already given to the BoI, without knowing that such funds are never released to intended beneficiaries for years.
There are reasons to believe the Central Bank is probably complicit in this evil. The government will be shocked at what will be discovered if it opens up a web portal for example, for disappointed Nigerian businesses, to forward proof of BoI's failure. Such disappointed small, medium or large-scale industrialists should be asked to also detail how much they have paid into special BoI accounts for years, without getting any loans. Yet a chunk of the payments BoI collects from loan-seeking industrialists are non-refundable. The refundable part of the deposits the BoI is fraudulently collecting, are refunded after upwards of two years at less than 10% interest per annum, when even Bank to Bank lending in Nigeria, is at almost 20% for onward lending to end users at as high as 35%.
To be fair, this fraudulent way has probably been the way the BoI had always being doing business. That much is obvious when it is realised that the bank, despite its very low customer base, the Bank had always been competing with major commercial banks in the profits it has been declaring for the past several years."

O'seun Ogunseitan
http://www.itrealms.com.ng/2017/11/bank-of-industry-and-fraud-within.html?m=1

It is about beaming the public search light on the massive corruption being carried out with reckless abandon at BOI. Nothing else.

You can't find any business with debt only. In this case debt should go into asset finance since it is interest bearing and owner's equity for other aspects of the business.

While I have no plans as of this moment to take legal action, I plan to share my experience on every platform and hope Nigerians broadcast it until everyone knows what fraud BOI and by extension the federal government of Nigeria is.

While I understand your grievance trying to give boi a bad name and by extension the fgn won't solve the issue. Bt if that is the route you want to take then all the best after all you are the one trying to build a business and it won't be advisable to tarnish your business name by trying to fight them . It's a battle you can't win either in real life or no social media. Rather I suggest you do your proper due diligence next time before applying for any loan and ask for a checklist of the requirements and make sure you have everything on hand before you apply. Again I am not holding fort for boi but I know of countless people and small business owners who have applied for loans from the same boi, got the loans without paying a single bribe or even knowing anybody at boi and yeah there is no way they will disburse if you don't sort out the collateral/ security for the loan because they are not a charity organization.

I have read both and even the comments from others and this is my final conclusion. The op didn't do his own due diligence before applying for the loan because everything he has complained about is on the boi website. They have stated it clearly that they won't give direct cash but rather pay directly to suppliers and the fees he is complaining about are also clearly stated on their website so it funny that he is complaining about it.

There is nothing wrong with the conditions. Seriously were you expecting them to disburse cash to you?

There have been cases on the past where cash is disburse directly and people just divert and recovering those finds is an issue also the two month deadline is required because the fund is a revolving fund meaning that people are expected to use the funds and return it for others to access. Imagine that there is no deadline to utilizations so everybody that has loans can use as they like and then what will happen to the new borrowers

And to be fair is the same terms and conditions that they apply to all and sundry

I think you should sort out your business needs first and credit documentation before approaching the bank because what most do is hear the boi is giving loans and they rush and apply without doing the required due diligence.

Am not holding fort for boi but I know alot of people have gotten loans from them a d have good news to say about them just as you have a bitter experience

All the best.

Alot of the e commerce firms have over bloated valuations and until they change their valuation and business operating models they will continue to suffer.

Nigerians also didn't help matters . Yudala is barely struggling save for the support from zinox.
