No one is saying he isn't working, we're saying his job is to manage the country's finance by regulating the financial system through sustainable monetary and fiscal policies.
It should interest you that the CBN Gov had decided nothing needs to change cos we're still operating and maintaining the same policies that failed the country last year.

We know the country is broke because of the militancy in the ND affecting our quantity of oil sales and that's why we're experience the effect of these backlogs. Is it when the country is rich that we know a good manager or when the chips are down?

His job is to fix the economy, if he can't, he needs to step aside for someone who can. The earlier govt realises this, the better.

If this country was your private entity, apparently even you would have fired him already because the country losing millions of dollars daily and going into the drains and this man is either clueless about fixing it or as I believe he's a major part of sabotaging the economy just to frustrate this administration. I mean GEJ handpicked him to that office for chrissakes.

CBN sells directly to the BDC operators. The dollar is collected through abcon, the umbrella body for the bdc operators and not through the bank. The bank only process the bid. The list of qualified BDC is sent weekly by the same CBN. In essence, what goes to each bdc is determined by CBN and not commercial bank. So, if there is any disparity the same cbn should take full responsibility.

Saying the disparity between official rate and black market rate is the cause of increasing cost of goods, doesn't that also mean banks still sell bulk of the currencies to BDC against instruction of CBN?

@ the emboldened, presently below $60 and for the past 6 months, averagely below $45. The unanswered question is; rather than increasing the reserve when it was averagely over $80 over a period of 6yrs, it was depleted without anything tangible to show apart from cheap rice etc, why?

The last time there was a sharp drop in oil prices was in 2008. The drop lasted barely over 6 months and it cost Nigeria $20billion of its reserves to ensure that the economy wasnt affected. The current drop in oil prices has lasted close to 3 years, I wonder how much of savings would have really saved us. On the contrary, I think aggressive investments in key infrastructure, specifically power infrastructure and refineries is what would have made a lot of difference.

If Kazakhstan and Russia, countries that have similar economic index and crisis origin with nigeria are implementing policies that seem to be working, why are we doing otherwise.
The ban on these essential commodities should be gradually eased as this policy is partially efficient and contributed to lack of confidence in our economy by foreign investors.
By the way, I have never trusted this policies of CBN and emefiele.

Good CBN policy but wrong methodology of implementation he CBN gov should have taken the implementation in phases , and the CBN can technically empower manufacturing SMEs by providing manufacturing plants and letting those without financial capacity produce their proaaducts
