Ignorance!! The bane of the proud
I challenge you to point to anywhere in the Islamic texts where the covenants and spelt out and where they were commanded to be written down. The Quran was written based on the initiative of Muhammad's followers. Even Muhammad never wrote it down. So how can a covenant written by those who were not there when it was being formed be even considered genuine? You're simply ignorant of the spiritual significance of having a covenant written down and of it usually requiring a seal.
A covenant is a two way street where conditions must be met and standards adhered to. Any covenant that does not require fidelity from the parties involved is simply not worth its ink.
Go and do further research on spiritual significance of covenants
I'll pass. I will be insulting myself if I engage with this kind of thing. Good day.

Politics › Re: 172 Million Subscribers As Tinubu Cancels Planned 5% Telecoms Tax by DeepSight(m): 12:53pm On Aug 20, 2025
wirinet:
It is difficult to defend the indefensible. Those who are genuinely doing legitimate business in Nigeria understand that we already pay more “taxes” than almost anywhere else in the world. Instead of easing the burden on citizens, the Tinubu administration seems determined to bleed the people dry. This new so-called “income tax” on total bank deposits may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Let me break down the reality of what Nigerians are already groaning under:

1. Import Duties

Nigeria is an import-dependent country. Import duties are charged on almost everything we consume—cars, rice, medicines, machinery, fuel, and more. Even locally produced goods that rely on imported materials are not spared; duties and levies still apply.

2. Value Added Tax (VAT)

We also pay VAT on virtually every good and service. The rate was increased from 5% to 7.5%, further tightening the squeeze on both businesses and consumers.

3. Taxes on Financial Transactions

Things became even more ridiculous when the government started taxing our bank transactions. Every transfer or deposit attracts charges. While typing this I transferred ₦100,000 from my Zenith Bank account to my PalmPay account. Zenith deducted ₦53.75 as NIP + VAT, while PalmPay deducted another ₦50 as the Electronic Transfer Levy. That’s ₦103.75 lost in a single transaction—without earning a single kobo in profit.

Now, imagine repeating such transactions multiple times a day, every day, as is common in business. The cumulative effect is massive losses for both individuals and enterprises.

4. Proposed Tax on Bank Balances

To make matters worse, the administration is now proposing a tax on all bank balances above ₦800,000 per year. It doesn’t matter whether the money represents profit or loss, or how it got there—the government just wants a cut. Which other country operates like this? In the U.S., for example, Donald Trump legally paid zero taxes for years despite transactions worth billions because he declared losses.

5. Unofficial Taxes
Beyond official levies, Nigerians face layers of unofficial “taxation” that government seems to tolerate. After buying land and paying all the official charges, you are still compelled to “settle” "omoniles" before you can build.

All markets in Lagos pay levies to Iya Oloja, bales and other unofficial institutions disguised as traditional obligations.

If you run a transport business, after paying official vehicle taxes, you must still pay agberos, police, unions, and local government touts at almost every turn. These are extortions disguised as taxes, and they cripple small businesses daily.

The Religious Justification Fallacy

I find it disturbing when people use religion to justify exploitative governance. The Bible never ordained taxes. When asked about paying tax, Jesus simply said: *“Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God.”* That statement does not equate to Jesus supporting taxation. It was simply a reminder that spiritual obligations and civil obligations are separate.

A Tool of Oppression

These oppressive taxes mirror the tactics of colonizers. The British taxed the Aba people so heavily that women rose up in the historic Aba Women’s Riot. It was taxes on imported tea that sparked the American Revolution, ultimately ending British rule in the U.S.

Yet here we are, in 2025, facing a government that has chosen to weaponize taxation against its own people. Defending such a regime is not patriotism—it is patronizing oppression.
Look how sound you can be once the religion bug is not scratching your brain.

a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action

From above, it is clear that a covenant has two important features. The first is that it's written and secondly, it is dependent on performance of an action.
Nothing in your post deserves a response. However I will just draw your attention to how badly you mangled the definition of covenant.

In the first place read the definition in red again. You wil see that the only thing there that is necessary is a promise. If you lack reading skills, I will highlight the words that show this -

"a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action"

In short, it could be a written agreement OR promise usually - (but not necessarily) under seal. The word "especially" shows that a reciprocal action is not always required, but that where such is present this is an extra affirmation of the character of the promise.

All that is required is the factor of a promise, but at all events even if you dispute that, every other factor stated there is contained in the Quoran. There are written promises there which demand reciprocal action for fulfillment. Anyoe who claims otherwise is joking and I will not belittle myself to have to list them.

Thats all I have to say. The whole of your post was otherwise irritating ignorance and stark illogic, most of which will be too insulting to revisit, just as absurd as your hilarious position on the possibility of descendance from froeign tribes.

Of all the man-versus-beast battle video footage these eyes have ever seen online, this epic confrontation between a trained Pitt Bull attack dog on guard duty, and a man who turned out to be a Judo expert, easily ranks among the top three showdowns in terms of heart-pumping adrenaline content. This life-and death skirmish is a study in desperation, combat prowess, tenacity, focus and utter ferocity by the canine aggressor, throughout this unforgettable clash recorded on CCTV, careening frantically towards a plot-twist outcome that remains unpredictable right up to the final frames of the video clip.

Without spoiling the surprise as to how the life-and-death clash unfolded, anyone viewing this footage will surely agree that there can be no more fearful and quick a deadly weapon than an American Pitt Bull dog that launches itself into attack mode. This dog was terrifyingly relentless in its attacks on the man, who despite suffering numerous bites from bone-crushing teeth, fought heroically yet calmly, summoning considerable grappling skill with an economy of motion as is so instinctively deployed by seasoned martial arts practitioners.

One need not be fluent in Brazilian Spanish to understand what is about to happen once the dog sights his quarry through an open gate. After watching this video clip, this writer regards Pitt Bull dogs with a new respect combined with a deep visceral fear.

After going back to read a part of it, I think the possibility is high. The vessel is actually a Nigerian vessel that is probably being built in Japan, and will be brought to Nigeria at some point, so having a Nigerian name in this case will not be out of place.

Not a chance I'll reconsider it. Studying the matter further reinforces my stand
I will leave this to another day. Sometimes you simply say and stand by incredibly false things which betray not just a deep ignorance, but a striking incapacity for reasoning, which is surprising because you tend to do well once its not a religious matter. I cant forget how you claimed it is impossible for an African to have a Mongolian ancestor.

If the God of Israel asks them to kill then it is right for them and same for the Arabs. However, the Arabs will need to tell us what covenant they have with their god that involves killing. So far as I know, there is no covenant or relation in islam between Allah and his followers. They are slaves who are to worship him without question nor expectations except that rich he wills for them, a will they are not privy to. To announce a covenant is not enough, you must be able to show us the operations of the covenant. Is it not striking that the Arab God bears striking similarities with the Israelites God yet they can't establish any special generational relationship with him from their texts but have to rely on the relationship of God with the Israelites to form a narrative?
What is a covenant if not a promise made by a deity to a person or people? Do I have to start quoting the Quoran for the many promises made to Muslims for their fealty to Allah? Please and please. Sometimes you are just beyond unreasonable. All because you wish to push the absurdity that Jews have a special right to kill by command of their God? Christ.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is what a convenant is -

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/covenant

I dont know how any rational person can claim that there are no promises made by Allah to Muslims in Islam, and none which command them to kill.

But thats the way religion makes people reason. My God can do it and its fine. But if your God does it, its a crime. Simple. Thats all you are saying.

Muhammad did in fact made such claims. But he later killed people without specific instructions from his God to carry such killings out which is where I believe he failed.
Oh, so you know specially where and when Allah did not instruct him? Mohammad who was able to produce instructions from Allah at any second as he found convenient? You must be joking.

Your nuance is that kids shouldn't be cursed cause they are kids. Well, Elisha does not agree with you. And obviously God does not either. If you don't want kids to get cursed, teach them to behave properly towards strangers.
I shudder that a Christian can sit back with a poker face and justify this.

But you never made that point. Your focus was on Elijah killing the worshippers of Baal till I called your attention to the people who started the whole killing.
It is not my fault you failed to read.

Now you've shifted goalpost out of the magnitude of your hate for the Christian God. May I ask what fuels such hate in your heart. It isn't healthy. It keeps debasing your otherwise flowery intellect
Any hatred for your god I have is more than justified by your scandalous utterances above. I would rather perish a million times over than be associated with such.

People began to argue under the post about how Bell that invented it wasn't an American but scottish with Canadian citizenship ,while the Pro America claim the US gave him the platform to be successful.

There are several people like that in US that patented their products in US instead of their home country , I can list tens of them like Nikola tesla, Einstein etc off hand not to even mention some US ops like Paper Clip where they kidnap talented people all over the world to come and develop US .

This remittace might be big in the eye but if all these talents are all in Nigeria , religiously developing Nigeria the same way they're developing other countries like US , that amount will be nothing compared to what we will locally make with much pride .

Now that's that ,do you know how much US companies are making yearly in Nigeria ? According to data, they're making over 1 Trillion naira yearly . If you argue that they're providing jobs , Nigerians are also providing jobs and other services in US , also some US companies like Shel causing a lot of environmental degradation in nigeria far above whatever Nigerians are contributing to the degradation of US environments .
US Companies make far more than that in Nigeria.

Sadly Admiral Byrd was sworn to secrecy and forbidden from making public his encounter with that hidden world that he discovered during that historic expedition.

There is to this day, a persistent mythology persists, claiming that a vast "No-Fly Zone" within the South Pole's Antarctic wilderness, is STILL in use by flotillas of flying saucers leaving and entering that world beneath the ice.
The reason I mentioned him is because he was well known and respected as a very serious, sober officer of the highest professionalism and expertise.

The kind of warnings that came from a sober and dignified man like that cannot be easily thrown away.

The way he was silenced as well as his death were both highly questionable.

Descriptions of him make it clear that all who knew him would take his words as seriously as they would those of a General Eisenhower.

YouTube's most prolific publisher of archival UFO accounts, namely a channel called Eyes on Cinema, has released yet another compilation of UFO encounters reported by pilots of small aircraft, many of who were convinced that they were about to be impacted by strange otherworldly craft that appeared out of nowhere and came within very close proximity of their planes.

For anyone harboring doubts about the veracity of UFO reports, there can be no more credible an eyewitness of such phenomena than pilots, who are by the nature of their profession, all trained observers.

On second thoughts I agree that pilots' powers of observation and description would have to be more highly developed than those of ground-based law enforcement officers, because sightings in the air must be described in terms of numerous variables such as airspeed, trajectory, rate of climb or descent, pitch-angle, and lighting configurations that are generally speaking not applicable to eyewitness accounts observations made of objects on the ground by police officers.

Hopefully, now that the taboo about airmen and women reporting UFO sightings through official channels is gradually easing, and now that every phone is equipped with high resolution cameras, the truth of what those craft are, and what they want here on Earth, will be unveiled to the satisfaction of even the most jaded of skeptics.
Hopefully. For many of us there is no doubt about it already. And when one looks at human history it becomes more and more obvious that there is alot which has been going on which is simply not in line with what is taught in orthodoxy.

By the time they reach their mid thirties they are not able to cope with the realities of adult competition and often find that they are the ones who have to chase even men they considered "small boys."
