LordReed: So you are going to act obtuse to the fact that until the abolitionists, Christians had no problem with owning slaves? LoLz. Na wa o. Also remind me the religion of those who fought to retain slavery again? To add: both the Old and New Testaments contain presciptions for maintaining slavery. |

Uten9z: That's the thing, the bible is older than 1940's and what ever means they occupy it's their land. There were other people there as well right from Biblical times, even before the Jews and like Throwback pointed out, the Jews only occupied the space by "biblical genecides." |

Amayabor1: It is hard to debate with many of you on Nairaland. It sucks energy because many of you don't know anything.
Let me give you an advise; go to chatgpt and type "which people were the original inhabitants of present day Isreal before Isreal was formed".
The truth is that before present day Isreal was formed, the land, including the west bank, gaza strips, and surronding lands, has been the home of people different religion and tribes; Arabs, Muslims, Christians, jews, etc. There was no Palestine country before 1948 (and I never said Palestine was a country).
When Britain formed Isreal in 1948, it was expected that for peace to reign, Palestinians should also have their own country. If Isreal will be the country for the jews, a country of Palestine should be created for a Palestinian Arabs. Now, Isreal has been encroaching on Palestinian lands and expanding Israeli borders. In due time, they will take over the whole of Gaza and west Bank. It is not fair. The jews are not the only original inhabitants in these lands Thank you. But Nigerian Evangelical Christians blindly worship Israel regardless of the facts that - 1. Israel does not believe in their Christ 2. Africans should naturally support movements against imperialist colonialism and apartheid |

tctrills: Not really, but then, I don't see you talking about any of the talents that Nigeria has lost to Boko Haram or to Tinubu's evil government. I don't see you calling for the heads of anyone who took part in the Biafran war, where more than 2 million babies were killed in your country, your race. I never saw your post on Sudan, Ethiopia, or the ongoing crimes against Christians happening in many countries. What happened to the killers of Sarah? I can bet you know nothing about this. You seem to be one of those kids who started using the internet 5 months ago. The world is much more complex than they want you to believe. You are truly lost. These people, despite the war, have a much higher life expectancy than you. There is a bigger hunger problem in Nigeria than in Gaza. They should be the ones fighting, demonstrating, and posting bad news from Nigeria on social media. You are completely lost. Life expectancy in Gaza is 74 years. If that is what you call a genocide, then I want one in Nigeria. It is truly a pity that you seem to think that the fact that we can discuss a matter of global concern means that one's life and perspectives and the matters that one devotes oneself to end here online on that global matter alone. You have absolutely no idea who I am and what I put out on particularly African matters and African conflicts. Please, try not to presume. One of the reasons the spectre in Gaza/ West Bank is so serious to most of the world is because it is the last frontier of open colonialism and apartheid - a disease which the world has fought in many forms from the slave trade to Jim Crowe, to segregation in the USA, to the American Civil Rights Movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King, to apartheid in South Africa and the struggle against it led by Nelson Mandela. The nobility of these movements speaks directly against each and every one of you who stand against these very noble principles which many have bled for - and most sadly in your case, principles which were fought for the freedom of your very race and very people. The world is truly much more complex than you think it is - otherwise you would not be a worshipper of Israel and white colonialists. |

RealityKings1: Slavery came before Christianity, so if Christianity was able to abolish it after 1700 years just like you admitted ... then Christianity wield a strong positive influence not just spiritually but socially, economically.
its good to know the Great Britain saved you from slavery when they abolished slavery in 1855 It is ridiculous to give anyone credit for abolishing an abomination that they themselves practiced. |

If Satan like make he cause plague, it will work for my good👌. Well, as a religionist and person of faith you are free to say that. The truth however is that this does not turn out to be the case for a great many people no matter how much they trust in and appeal to God. Think of the millions who experienced the holocaust for example and the many more millions who experienced the slave trade as another example. Of course I understand you will have the "it can never happen to me" mentality but in truth everyday very good faithful people are struck down by all manner of tragedy including terminal illnesses. |
