EMILO2STAY: love is the reason why God sent his son to die for our sins and also because God could raise him from the dead is another reason why he let his son die. this is absolutely justifiable. This is meaningless because the bible itself makes it clear that no matter what, whatever a man sows, the same shall he reap. Therefore the so called sacrifice of Christ means nothing because the bible says that Karma will always take effect. Here is scripture for you: Gal 6 v 7 - Be ye not deceived for God is not mocked; whatsoever a man soweth the same shall he reap."
Matt 26:52 - 52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.
Proverbs 26:27 27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.
Psalms 7:16 16 The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads.
Gal 6:9-19 - 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
2 Cor 5:10 - 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Psalms 28:3-4 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. 4 Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve.
all those who lived without the law will be judged outside the law on the day of judgement and all those who lived by the law will be judged accprding to the law. So God has different standards for different times and different people. This means he is not the same yesterday, today and forever. He is slippery and shifts the goal post and this is untrustworthy. |

nairalanda1: Well, all I know is that areas of the economy where people can set their prices don't suffer from corruption and bad service.
Areas of the economy that are subsidise do You are off the mark because the point is private ownership of business, which ensures a market determined price and with subsidies, a differential is paid to meet the market price anyway. Look, subsidies are a reality even in the biggest and most capitalist economies, in Nigeria we have been sold the lie that subsidies are the root of our problem. It is not subsidies but demonic corruption without limit, that is our problem. In only a few short years, the subsidy being paid on PMS jumped from two hundred and something billion to over six trillion. What is that if not black magic and the most satanic corruption imaginable. After stealing the place blind, the government then turns around to shift the burden for the theft to the people. The government shouted to high heavens that there was corruption in the subsidy regime, but is yet to prosecute even one single marketer or govt official in that regard. What does that tell you? The more you look, the less you see. Subsidies were never the problem, corruption is the always the problem. |

EMILO2STAY: this is not about ritual as you think. if you understand that the wages of sin is death. thats is anything that is corrupt is headed for decay, so is mankind headed for death due to sin. now it is not our fault but because we are born in sin and so automatically headed for death. God sent forth his son to die that death in our place so that any man who believes would be saved from death. this is what jesus did on the cross. all you have to do is have that faith its not difficult. if you understand this, then every thing will make sense to you,..in otherwords logical!!. This doesnt add up. . . 1. A God of justice would not do something unjust by making one man bear the sins of another man. That is unjust. And that can never balance the scales of divine justice. 2. What happens to all those who lived before Jesus and never heard of him. 3. What happens to all those who lived after Jesus and never heard of him. 4. What happens to all those who lived after Jesus, heard of him, but could not make sense of such a bizarre ritualistic teaching on ritual human sacrifice as being the way. 5. The man who has faith in Jesus death still has to live righteously to be saved, so what is the point of the death? |

EMILO2STAY: you make such statement because you dont known the bible.the God of the bible has a son. proverbs 30:4. this son was sent by God to the earth through a miraculous conception not impregenation. he is not God but the son of God. he was killed because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin and also he did shed his blood to purchase the souls of the believers as his own inorder to give them eternal life in his kingdom.
if you understand the scriptures you will not be typing sarcasm as response.. sorry for you. If you believe that blood must be shed for your sins to be forgiven you are a ritualist. |

nairalanda1: See the GSM thing. Before GSM, there was NITEL, which despite being subsidised was only for the rich.
GSM came, was so expensive intially that most people could not afford it. ...then the GSM companies made insane profit, and as a result, more investment came in and prices fell.
The thing is if subsides were removed in 1993, it would have made domestic refining profitable. And thus refineries would spring up well well.
It doesn't mean we get cheap fuel though....but it means things would be better.
The issue with subsides is that they cause reduction in profit due to the price controls inherent in them. People don't like price controls. SO, they would import, and prefer that government gives them free money. You simply think Nigeria succumbs to reason and logical analysis like most other countries. You dont know anything about your country. |

nairalanda1:

And the APC Jokes will come and say ...HE IS NOT PAYING SUBSIDY.
There has been a subsidy since October last year, otherwise fuel would have been costing N1000 or more. The government wants to stay in power, which is why they keep the subsidy.
The funny thing is there are people who oppose tinubu, blast him for wasting money on subsidy, and lying about it, and then turn around to support the same subsidy.
If the subsidy had gone in 1993, by now we would have had more than six working refineries, and a ton of exports of petrochemicals. But Nigerians WANT CHEAP THINGS. If you seriously believe that removal of the subsidy in '93 would have ensured we have six refineries now, you don't know jack shit about this country. Even if we buy petrol for 10k per litre, all the money made or saved thereby will still be stolen. |

Ourtruth247: Every history before the camera is fabricated
Some of you might get triggered by the above but I'm fairly confident that any history before the invention of the camera is practically fabricated.
The camera was not invented in the 1800s like we were told, it was simply reintroduced in the 1800s along with other supposed inventions.
Megalithic structures all over the world show evidence of advanced knowledge of mathematics, geometry and engineering. The Puma Panku stones show evidence of laser technology. The location of stone henge show evidence of an advanced form of transportation. The so called Baroque art which I'll soon get into show evidence of an advanced form of printing.
It's historically incongruent to suggest that the camera was never invented until just less than 200 years ago. This is a lie from the pit of hell.
So why lie about the date the camera was invented? Simple. When you make the date for the invention of the camera very recent, it allows you to fabricate centuries of stories that cannot be debunked by photographs or videos. You are onto something when you say there is a gap in history and that there were civilizations before this one of ours. I think there were many in fact. But you are simply nuts and smoking cheap ganja when you keep saying all that was 300 years ago. |

Jakumo: Black American women have earned the title of "Angry Black Woman" for good reason. Black American women are WORLD-RENOWNED for two things - anger and violence. My advice to ALL men of ALL races is that they AVOID black American women in general, and in particular that they AVOID risking their life by entering ANY sort of relationship with America's Angry Black Women, whose foul-mouthed rage turns to violence in a second, over the slightest of imagined provocations.
America is FULL of gorgeous feminine women ranging from Latina to Chinese, to white, so there is NO reason any man should become lonely and desperate enough to try and woo a black American woman who will KILL that man in an instant over NOTHING.
Personally speaking, I LOVE African women who grew up in Africa, but I am proudly racist when it comes to those Angry Black Women who have been raised angry and bitter in America. Hell will freeze over before I ever become desperate and lonely enough to go near any foul-mouthed Angry Black American woman for the balance of my mortal existence.
God help any man foolhardy enough to enter a relationship with an American-born black woman because her rage WILL certainly erupt with regularity over the smallest of imagined offenses. While that rage is in full force, ANYTHING can happen, including murder, because the American Angry Black Woman does not care about being locked up in jail for life after being found guilty of homicide. After all, for her, the pleasure is in the killing of those who anger her, regardless of the legal repercussions of that crazed violence.
Yes sir indeed, this writer detests and loathes America's angry black women with a deep, abiding passion. That instinctive revulsion is renewed every time I read about one of those lunatic women killing someone with a knife, a gun, or poison. Jaks, a sizable amount of white women do the same and worse oh. |

Yahoodelababe: The truth Is that we have alot of confused christians in nigeria. I knew after junior pope's issue where an actor claimed he gave sacrifice to the river, that those "Christians who go to church on sunday with their charms under their beds" will start speaking up about how fetish believe is good bla bla bla. It wouldnt have been a problem to me if they visit those shrines to pray for their needs, but altering another person's life because of your believe is my problem. How can a side chick visit a dibia to complain that another woman wants to steal her man when you know your dating a married man. Now baba prepares a charm for you to destroy a family and sometimes the charms work regardless of whether the person is telling the truth or not. Let us assume the christian God is same with the dibia god as nigerians argue. I would prefer to worship my God through the person that says forgive ,God will give you your own man than worship god through a man that will give me something to kill a fellow human being . can't you see the difference? One God said don't kill while the other god will even ask you if you want to kill the person. Alot of people just want to justify that wrong thing they know they are doing.Don't join them . Yes God has been in existence before the oyibo introduced the christain God to africa...but the two are not the same. Don't allow confused people transfer their confusion to you. Use your brain. Refuse to be confused! In the Bible, the Jewish God gives many orders and instructions for murder and genocide. |

And when you bow before the image of a Roman Execution instrument (the cross) with an image of a Jewish man impaled on it, and claim his blood as your salvation, does it not ever strike you just how pagan and barbaric what you are doing is? How do you fail to see that you are subscribing to ritual human sacrifice thereby? |

Chukwuka319: Really so many people are destroyed due to ignorance. What pledge did she make to the water spirits,in return for their blessings? Because water spirits are not Father Christmas or God who gives without adding any sorrow. Fools will rant now,but this is the truth. Nothing good ever comes from Water spirits. It's only God who can give without interest, collateral or sorrow and pain. The "blessings" of water spirits may appear refreshing, satisfying for a while, but soon, they will come to claim one precious thing from her life at the date they choose. Does God not work through various created beings. |

plaetton: I cannot say and have said that religion is solely responsible for the backwardness of Africa. I did respond to the poster complained about the rot in western society, supposedly speaking from a religious moral high ground. And my point is that if religion is somehow connected to high morals, then as the most religious nation on earth, Nigerians should not only be the beacons of the highest morals, but should have built an egalitarian society for the citizens. Well this angle is fair enough I must say. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Dangerous Attitudes Amongst Nigerian Churches In The Diaspora by DeepSight(m): 5:56pm On Apr 14, 2024 |
plaetton: First of all I kept silent on ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt because I'm not quite sure how we can attribute progress to these ancient societies considering that they all eventually spiraled into decline and exist no more. There is no way to measure the standard of living of the average citizens of these now defunct civilizations. If we can day that these were highly religious civilizations, then we might as well also say that their retrogressive religions ultimately led to their extinction. Secondly, the United States is not very religious nation, as you claim. Yes, the religious south use religion as a political weapon and make a lot of noise about it. In the United States, religion is both a political weapon to subdue and business that exploits. And that's my point. Religion is a retrogressive evil weapon used to control and exploit. Look, I don't think there is a point in quibbling about the details - all of which you are very wrong about. This is because Your last line is right. What you fail to see is that that last line being right does not render religion solely or mainly responsible for the backwardness of Africa. Many other factors are at play and are far far far more important. |

plaetton: Europe began to progress with the emasculation of religion. Likewise the United States has seen the gradual but steady emasculation of religion on a parallel course with their technological and economic growth. I am sure I dont need to say anything - you yourself know how lame this response is. The United States is a very religious country and has always been and has always been on the path of steady progress. There is no corelation between the emasculation of religion and the progress of the United States. And Europe has been largely religious throughout most of its progress. Deviation away from religion is fairly recent in historical terms. Finally you just had to be silent about Greece, Rome, Egypt, Persia, didnt you? You had no choice but to ignore these references. What these references show is that societies can, do and have progressed with religion. Thus, its not just about religion as I said. If anything, it can be argued that religion has in fact contributed much to many societies, in terms of education and charity for example. Most of the earliest universities were set up by the Church, for example. The Big Bang Theory was propounded by a Catholic Priest. And the fact that I am saying all these things should give you cause for pause because you know just how much I detest religion myself. I am just trying to make a point to you: you are singling out religion as the single cause of Africa's backwardness and that is simply not so. The matter is beyond just religion. |
