What thoughts spring to your mind for each image you see. What bearing do those thoughts have on the theistic - atheistic worldviews as contrasted. I will sometimes post just a lone picture, and for each, I'd like your thoughts. Also I may place more than one picture in a post, and i'd like your thoughts on the significance of the contrast, in respect of the theistic - atheistic worldviews. Many thanks. |
Joshthefirst: Most skeptics will claim that the bible cordones and supported slavery. But they fail to realize that the bible gave rules on how to treat slaves such as the one above, and these in the new testament:Why the different rules then regarding foreigners. |
38 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God. 39 “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves. 40 They are to be treated as hired workers or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors. 42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves. 43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God. 44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. - - - The Book of Leviticus, Chapter 25 |
^^^ I added to my post above some better context...... if it will have any meaning. Go to the picture of the dead pope and reflect closely on it. |
Pastor Kun: Welcome back deepsight, really nice to have you backIt isn't. I address myself to what I will. - - - - to that portion within his post that I consider to be the irredeemable repetition of f.oolishness - that portion which is a cavalier mockery - - - again - - of the sacred and unfathomable God. My dog had a litter of eight pups today. A reminder and a beautiful one at that. plaetton: Lol.It certainly isn't. Going forward, you are going to have to task yourself much much harder than you hitherto have. Much much harder. I left that picture for a reason. Task yourself. |
It is, it must be, and it will be.

What about the Raelian movement....pretty strange peeps. ..... |
plaetton: Animals can also see or behold a thing. Logicboy03: It is just romanticising the function of the brain......This infers the indubitable existence of a mind which observes a world external to itself. This is a great building block in thought development if you are interested in the mysteries of reality. This should set you on your way, to God, if you please. |
Logicboy03: lol.....I call this the "Ihedinobi misunderstood escape jutsu"Think seriously please. What is a seeing mind. You agree that only a mind - a person, can see or behold a thing - anything, no? What then does this mean and imply? |
Logicboy03: Unfortunately for you, many of the best minds which understand this world are not theists.....the physicists and the biologistsI didnt expect you to grasp that statement, simple as it is. And you did not. |
plaetton: I am quite sure that is his own way of saying that you have to believe in god first. The seeing mind that apprehends itself as a conscious being in the world, apprehends also God.. |
ooman: i can ask again, how do you live it? stop prevaricating, i dont think you have an answer....You live it when you reflect on death, and see the truth which has always been there- namely that you are a being in a physical vessel, which vessel expires at death. This recognition should instantly lead you to see that we are non physical, and always have been, and always will be. Therefore the seeing mind will live as the mind: the seeing mind alive. If you see no sense in this, sleep on, till you wake. |
plaetton: Another threat. Not really. If you consider yourself a being, that essence must re float once its physical tools are discarded. That is judgment. |
I always find it very interesting how simple truths are sidestepped and swapped with meaningless mumbo jumbos.Like yours. |
ooman: and how do you become alive or dead to the spirit within? By believing or disbelieving it exists?By Living it. |
aManFromMars: How does one love God?By being alive to the spirit within - which is the seed from God, and is, of God. And how can one hate God?By being dead to the spirit within - which is the seed from God, and is, of God. Are there are any rewards/benefits from loving God in this life?Life. Living. |
aManFromMars: Do you love God?Yes. No human being can live without loving God. It is what we are. |
Logicboy03: It should be mocked becauseExcept the entire universe and you. -it is impossible to love something you cant see, touch, smell, or hear.O dear. In this case it should also be impossible to love a mind. Any mind. |
Those people who truly love God do so because God is the root of their being, the centre and meaning of their existence, the fountain of meaning of their lives. Loving God is profound and sacred. It is not something to be mocked as cavalierly as the OP does. |
Alfa Seltzer: Note to self: stop arguing with deists.I was not aware we were arguing, sir. |
Alfa Seltzer: You are misquoting yourself. You said everything in the universe was created. Are you saying that mind is not in this universe? The universe is but a figment of Mind. |
Alfa Seltzer: Good.Mind is eternal and un-created. The only real thing. God, being itself the eternal and infinite mind, is the only truly real thing in existence. This mind, is, by nature, self-existent. |
plaetton: I Am surprised that you would say gbam to a post that is so blatantly laughable.Well my dear friend and brother, I can only repeat that if you found Trogunns post laughable, I can only wish you luck and strength in your path. |
Alfa Seltzer: @ deepsight,The only thing that really exists is mind. God IS the infinite and eternal mind. |
plaetton: @Trugunn.The Light is Primordial Simplicity. If you are amused by Trogunns post, I can only smile. I wish you strength and luck in your search. |
wiegraf: Bros, that post had thisIt is true that the Bible is not inerrant, but in this matter of theism, it contains deep spiritual truths which will be incomprehensible to the atheistic mind. The Light shineth in the darkness and the darkness comprehendeth not the Light. That is one saying that no atheist can even begin to contemplate. It will take them another lifetime, granted by same Light, to begin to even see the vaguest hint of what this means. Shalom. |
