A second language is like learning other things and it's usually easier if the default language is closely related to the new one. Same problem you'll have in learning how to dance, how to use windows mojaves, how to play the piano, how to speak french etc. If your bobo is French and he gave you an option of speaking flawless french or never since you've lived in France for 10 years, will you appreciate that?. Measuring a guy in Naija because of his proficiency in english language is ridiculous as long as he can communicate with you with that english. Is your english manageable or impeccable? if it's the former, will you agree with a man that rejects you because your english is flawed?

Is cultural behavior dependent on our tribe/race or the environment we grew up?. A guy could have a high IQ without going through the formal education system. That's different from a dull guy not going through the formal education system. So its not about school grades,its about the quality of words and actions undertaken by the person,which is brought about by his mental capacity.

Everything begins from childhood, meaning that we discover the dominating aspects from childhood. There are children who are noted to be intelligent geniuses but some familiars do watch attentively the degree of their children cleverness and work on cultivating this intelligence and also channeling and investing it in its proper place. And oppositely some families do not care for that and neglect their children and thus is interred and not to be noticed or sometimes it can be noticed by school but the school is not enough. There must be cooperation by the family with the school.
