Yoruba Under Siege |
I'm a Yoruba and a proud one. I therefore frown at any unjustified attempt to put Yoruba in bad light. But my only problem with this thread is the starter. If DZ had been the only Yoruba, then I'll say she's being paid in her own coin. DZ lacks the moral justification to call another person a tribalist because she's the Grand Commander of Nairaland Tribalists(GCNT). I have never known any person so tribalistic as her. I need not dig out your tribalist threads they are well known.
|
Why repost a report that was posted here before by McUsman if you don't have an agenda? ![]() And grow up and write without posting too many images. It's wasting our space and making the site slow. Just a suggestion and not an order. |
Some arch tribalist in NL that has a hidden Northern agenda just compiled a list of nonsense from tabloids just to paint the yoruba race black. The worst is that one or two of the stories have been posted here before by McUsman(another arch tribalist). Beware of people around you that claim they love you because the opposite may be the case. Beware!!! See the thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-193763.0.html |
i don't know why i think so. . but i think @poster is Yaradua Yaradua is on NL as mallam Musa? ![]() |
Tuesday, November 11, 2008 EFCC arrests socialite, Terry Waya From Florence Oretade, Abuja UNTIL yesterday, he was a visible high society man even amid allegations that he was a front for some former and serving political office-holders. But the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday arrested Mr. Terry Waya for his alleged claim that he can assist former governors appease the anti-graft agency to influence their further trial. Mr. Femi Babafemi, the EFCC's spokesman, who confirmed the development, however, declined further comments, saying that investigations on the issue have begun. But it was gathered that the commission would soon search his house while his international passport had been seized. A source close to the Commission said Waya was picked up at his Abuja residence in connection with an alleged claim that he was extorting money from former governors to influence their investigation by the EFCC. The source said: "He was arrested in connection with a claim by him that he assisted in installing Waziri as the Chairman of the Commission and extorting money from former governors with a promise to help them appease her." He was also alleged to have been extorting money from incumbent governors as well as with a promise that the EFCC would not touch them. As at press time, EFCC's investigators were reported to be interrogating him. Waya had recently stood trial in London for money-laundering following his association with former Bayelsa State Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha for whom he had also stood surety in a London court. Meanwhile, Money-Gram International, a global money transfer company, has assured anti-graft agency of its undivided support in the fight against economic fraud in the country. According to a statement by Babafemi, the institution alongside its agent banks in Nigeria gave the assurance when their officials visited the EFCC Chairman in Abuja. The statement pledged that it would not renege in its commitment to fight fraud and other economic crimes. Its Regional Compliance Director, Chris Botes, accompanied by some executives on the visit, said: "MoneyGram and its partner banks in Nigeria will continue to pro-actively fight fraud in Nigeria and in specific, guard against being used by trans-national fraud syndicates." This, he said, would be achieved with the utilisation of modern information technology that automatically screens and filters transactions to counter fraud and money laundering. He also promised that MoneyGram with its partner banks in Nigeria would proactively identify fraud even as they handle transactions and customers with due skill, due care and due diligence. He assured of his organisation's willingness to collaborate with EFCC, Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and other law enforcement agencies and regulators in implementing the anti-money laundering regime in the country. Speaking earlier while receiving the visitors, Mrs. Waziri had called on MoneyGram and other money transfer companies to take into cognisance the fact that Nigeria was not yet developed technologically hence the need to put in place mechanism to check fraudulent activities involved in transferring money back and forth in the country. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/nov/11/23.html |
Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Enugu lawmakers in N200m London trip By Agency reporter Members of Enugu State House of Assembly will today (Tuesday) jet out to London for a seminar on lawmaking which will cost the state government about N200m. The 31-member delegation will spend two weeks in London where they will have academic sessions with parliamentarians and experts on lawmaking as well as a guided tour of the city. The delegation include the 24 members of the assembly, the Clerk of the House, the Governor's Liaison Officer to the House, Chuka Utazi and the Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects and Diaspora Matters, Jude Akubuilo, who is organising the seminar. The lawmakers had intended to visit United States, but were denied visa by the US Embassy in Abuja as part of immigration restrictions put in place by the country in the run up to the presidential elections, which held on November 4. The Sunday Punch had earlier reported that the embassy's refusal to grant the applications for visas was based on the fact that the legislators' trip was not of 'critical importance', beside the fact that the seminar slated for between October 28 and November 14, 2008 coincided with the US presidential elections. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/nov/11/403.html |
DeepZone…my dear… the Jesus you’re calling is not an Aramaic language that this name exist you might misinterpret how you call this name. try to see those alphabet of the Aramaic if you can find the Letter ‘J’ ‘jay’ within among those written letter in Aramaic and figure it out how come that this name Jesus are you calling are not found in Aramaic word. Aramaic is the sister language of Arabic…a little variant in pronunciation you can hear about that as you voice out the name of Isa(Jesus) in Arabic and Isou in Aramaic sound familiarity when you hear about it.Please shut up. "i" could be written as J in aramaic but what about others?. What about Joseph the father of jesus? is he also isoeui?. Your explanation is stupid because it's like comparing apple and oranges. Aramaic has different letters from arabic letters. Yes we quote some words in your bible, to give piece of information in some instances where people like to misquote of it by interpreting the wrong meaning. This thing can clear us the argument by presenting such constructive word from your holy book.Ask Olabowale that loves to run around the christian section like a Hot LovePeddler who is too old to nail a client. |
They have come again o. Cheesy In what way have I misquoted your bible? Why are you guys hell bent on calling Jesus Isa even when christians on this forum repeatedly said it's wrong. Are you the one that should define our messiah for us?. What if we christians decide to refer to Mohammed as osama bin Laden, will that go well with y'all? |
Seun:Politics in Nigeria rarely need tactics and strategy unless stealing ballot boxes is one. |

Stale news. This was in 2006 and it has been discussed in NL. ![]() |
ok i see alot of people saying, bankole is now power drunk and that given his education and exposure, he should have known better. But don't we nigerians make our leaders power drunk? have you noticed how we treat our leaders, don't we act as if theyre mini-gods as opposed to public servants?Huh do you see anyone in the UK goinfg down to the floor and mumbling yes sir to everything mr. brown says. nigerians are too passive, too submissive to power and thats why we need dictatorship.nigerians can't even stand with dignity to converse with a poweful public servant, they will make all sorts of weird gestures (bend down, kneel down, squat, take off shoes) they will humble themselves to the point of indignity, they will kiss ass and flatter, they will say yes sir, i will chop off my arm and leg and give you, HAS ANYONE EVER THOUGHT OF THE EFFECT THIS SORT OF ATTITUDE HAS ON THE POWERFUL LEADERS THEMSELVES?HuhHuh Gados Gados?. Long time? How dey go dey go? ![]() |
Don;t be angry because because i went to the archive to get more information about Col Okere who said he had never been barbaric. It's not anger but the title of the thread suggests otherwise. Why should she be subjected to such inhuman treatment because of her father? Are you nuts? |
@alloyemekaDon't fall into his trap because you are conceding for nothing. A Nigerian landlord has a right to refuse tenancy to anybody based on hygeine, colour, financial state, gender, tribe, religion etc. It's completely legal in Nigeria and nothing to be ashamed or apologize for. I repeat mine once again that I will not rent to Hausas for safety issues. It's not illegal and I'm exercising my civic rights under the law. Nigeria is not America, abeg . |

Yeaaaah, some have made it their life mission to save the North regardless of what is going on in the south or east like at the end of the day, 1 good apples amongst 100 bad apples is soooo the best thing. Why not DISCUSS ALL OF NIGERIA'S PROBLEM? That's what I want to know but hey. . . we're not supposed to ask that.In America, do they call a problem inherent in black communities an all American problem?. Some people are just too wasted in life that they arrogantly reject help they need so badly. I will not be deterred in my mission because so many Northern women are there looking for a messiah. If I can be their messiah, hey, why not? ![]() |

As a matter of fact, when I saw this story: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-194086.0.html#msg3069645, the first thing that came to my mind was Pataki but my temper relaxed when I saw the boys picture. May be the bobo saw pataki on the movie and his ugly yansh gave him heart attack. |
