If the prayers of Jesus Christ in the garden of Geshemane were rejected and never answered by the one he made prayers to. It is obvious that he made these prayers to the One he believed held authority about his life and death.

This One he prayed to must be Superior than him and held all decision, knew all, including the time of the hour. And, according to you thereby was nailed to and died on the cross. The death which in all evidences he did not want, considering that he prayed against it, many time in that garden, etc.

And at the time of death, before he gave up the ghost, voiced up his disapproval and dissatisfaction of dying and the method of death when he yelled out; My God, my God,

If Jesus Christ did not have the capability to save himself, from the gruesome death that occurred to him on the cross, how delutional can one be to think the same Jesus is capable of saving him/her and others, when a True Savior is needed?

Answer:

Dude, ask an ethnic hausa! I am ethnic yoruba. When he question of yoruba people arises in your head, ask me. Until then, you should address your hausa question to a hausa man.
So Islam is a hausa thing now? Because you prolly don't have an answer for that, huh?
PS
Am not a dude and will rather die than become one undecided undecided undecided undecided.

Liar. The largest city in Yoruba is village of Ibadan. Ibadan is a pure muslim city. All the big cities or major towns apart from maybe some of those in Ondo and Ekiti states, I think, all of them are Islamic.

Think of it. If I factor in Lagos state, Lagos itself, Epe, Ikorodu are all Muslim places. Where are you from in Yorubaland? My mother is from Owo and I know that the city/town is Islamic.

Just for a moment, if I were to agree with your suggested trend above, now be served that we on Nairaland, InshaAllah will reverse the trend soon enough. We will mak the necessary dawah on the yorubas and beyond her boundary.

PoliticsRe: Gov Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Destroys Wife's Property by DeepZone(op): 5:09pm On Aug 02, 2008
what is killing there?

I've stated twice that I hope the wife was compensated.

Marriage is supposed to be unity, not one spouse demolishing the property of the other.
But he's a leader so, if it means that demolishing his wife's property that will move the state/city ahead, why not? it's like saying that he should use his offices to stop any effort in prosecuting his wife for any crime thereby giving her infinite immunity because he's trying to protect his marriage.

My thing is this, what he did was good BUT i seriously doubt he did it because of what we think, but he may do it for some ulterior motive. No be politician? Besides, the damn warehouse may be empty so, technically, he may have demolished an empty building that is not worth over N2m and he'll conpensate her by paying in N10M in her offshore account, who no like honey?

Its not as clearcut as that. Of course if the structure is illegal, then it should be demolished along with others. But did he have to be the one to demolish it.

Would you support your husband if you had a business which he then reported to the authorities for being illegal, and had it closed down?

Its happened before, when someone's wife was employed by the govt and also running a private business venture, which technically wasnt permitted for govt employees. The husband had the place closed down, which to me seemed pointless and malicious. Also considering the fact that the wife was the one bearing most of the household and children's expenses anyway- the husband was busy doing his own stuff elsewhere.

What if it was Gov Amaechi's wife doing something like that to him?

I'm assuming she was notified beforehand and compensated sha.

These kind of things can cause friction in a marriage if not handled carefully.
Why are you killing yourself over these people? This man is clearly doing politics here and to be frank, one warehouse is just peanuts to a governor of the richest state in Nigeria. One domiciliary account can take care of the whole thing jare. Are you sure it wasn't the said wife that gave him the idea in the first place?

Oyinlola orders trial of PDP chieftain, others for rape

By Tunde Odesola, Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has ordered the trial of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Ganiyu Oladiran, and three others for alleged rape and assault.

Oladiran, according to the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Niyi Owolade, was fingered in an alleged rape of an Action Congress teenage supporter in Ilesa, Miss Tosin Ajakaye.

Ajakaye, a Senior Secondary School student, was allegedly raped on September 16, 2007 at her residence by a PDP supporter, Mr Obafemi Kolawole.

Owolade said Oladiran would be charged with conspiracy and assault.

Two other PDP supporters that would be arraigned along with Oladiran are Olawale Fakolujo and Kehinde Odediran, who were charged with assault on AC supporters which include Sunday Ibitoye; Lasun Gbadamosi, Lawal Sikiru, Tosin Ajakaye and Oluwafemi Ojo.

Owolade, at a news briefing on Thursday in Osogbo, said the AC supporters alleged that the PDP suspects unleashed mayhem on them in retaliation of the burning of Oladiran’s residence and vehicles during the protest that greeted the April 14 governorship poll.

Owolade, who condemned the action of the Lagos State Assembly, said the parliament of the neighbouring state had “no jurisdiction to compel or hurry Osun State on the issue.”

He said, “Osun is no satellite of Lagos. The governor has directed a full trial of the suspects involved in the alleged crime. A prima facie case has been established against the suspects.

“We want to tell the world that Osun State is replete with men and women of dignity in governance. Nobody is above the law here in Osun State. The Lagos parliament should not politicise this issue. We have just received the police report and we have prepared a legal advice.”

PoliticsRe: North Not A Parasite - Govs by DeepZone: 4:38pm On Aug 02, 2008
So much talk here about "unambitious northern youth", 'parasites", "fura de nunu(sic)", "wild polio export"among others. Sad Sad Sad

"North can survive without Oil" by "moving to agriculture and manufacturing".
http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/editorial_opinion/article02//indexn2_html?pdate=010808&ptitle=Northern%20governors%20and%20the%20politics%20of%20oil

We've heard calls like that from the so-called Northern elders and leaders since 1960. Arewa Consultative forum, Northern Elders Forum and the numerous other self-appointed sycophants that say the speak for northerners will come to pass soon.Actions speak louder than words. So far not one has put any on the ground. Judgment will surely be passed someday

Parasitic on Nigerian Oil, Yes. Very much! The only parasites? I doubt that. Last I checked, the Niger Delta contributed 95% of Nigeria's revenue- wonder how much the southwest and southeast contributed to the Nigerian project to be finger-pointing,

I am called a "cattle rearer" even here in America by my Nigerian friends. A joke? Yes, but surely gives credence to a widely acceptance by southern nigeria that the North is an infested, disease-stricken, poor place where the guys only care about "cattle", "fura de nunu" and "tuwon masara". Did I forget that someone also pointed out that Northern youth must be in some kind of doldrum by not having ambitious people around them- as if ambition is some kind of geo-spatial attribute bestowed to people closer to the equator and depreciates the more you move away from it

The North has deep flaws- no doubt. But to bundle everyone Northerner- Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Birom, Idoma, Tangale etc as a cattle rearer, backward, unenterprising, dumb, uneducated, "nunu sellers" among others speaks how far we have all come together as a nation!

In Nigeria, the world called unity is still a long process!
Take a chill pill bro. Most of the comments were mere jokes. This is nairaland, ebeaeno!!!

Again, Oil dey for ondo state and lagos state and there is no way oil can't be discovered inn Osun and ogun states if we look further. On the south eastern corner, you forgot that imo and abia are oil producing states too and they may be listed as niger delta but are technically south eastern states.

Remember that there's bitumen in ondo state too, commercial quantity that can sustain the south for 100 years. The north can stick their arable lands up their ass. Yorubas for sure do not need either food or anything from them to survive on their own.

What is this about surviving on agric and manufacturing? manufacture what? which region in Nigeria is not capable of doing that?

Just follow the link provided, and you can monitor Mobolaji Bank Anthony road in Ikeja (formerly Airport road) in real time , as the camera there does work and works well. He didnt have to start by demolishing his own wife's property.

God forbid, if something happens to him, isnt this one of the warehouses his wife will use to feed the children?

I hope she was compensated sha.
Will it be right if he does the same to other people's property because those people have children to feed too?

Amaechi demolishes wife’s property in Port Harcourt

By Ibanga Isine, Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has ordered the demolition of a warehouse belonging to his wife, Judith, near the Abonnma Wharf, Port Harcourt. Based on the order, the state Ministry of Urban Development on Thursday afternoon sent its bulldozers to pull down the property as part of the ongoing effort to restore Port Harcourt to its original plan.

The building was found to have encroached on the right of way and was therefore, classified as illegal structure and consequently demolished among other structures in the area.

Giving reasons for the action, the state Commissioner for Urban Development, Mr. Osima Ginah, said, “The property was an illegal building situated where it is not supposed to be. So what happened to other stores in the neighbourhood also happened to hers.”

Ginah, who restated the resolve of the government to restore planning rules in the state, noted that the demolition exercise was not targeted at anyone, rather at illegal structures within the Port Harcourt metropolis.

He said, “Government is firm, fair, transparent and serious about her urban renewal programmes.

“It is not correct that the exercise is targeted at the enemies of the government.”

Also speaking on the action, a traditional ruler, Chief Ndubuisi Ekwueme, said the Amaechi-led administration deserved a pat on the back for seeking to bring Port Harcourt to its original Garden City status.

Ekwueme, who called on the people to join hands with the present administration to redeem the city said, “What Amaechi is doing is to bring the city back to the original form as planned by the British many years ago.”
