I have lived in a particular state for more than 15 years. Does it mean i can become governor?. If a Yoruba man was born and brought up in owerri, wpuld the ibos allow him hold any political office? First, tell me exactly what the lgbos are "over doing" in Lagos.
Yes, no Yoruba holds any political office in the east that l know of.
The reason being that the Yoruba population in any eastern state is so small that they are virtually non-existent- making it hard for them to have any political representation /recognition over there
That is the same reason why lgbos have no political representation in other Yoruba states except Lagos
ln Lagos the lgbos are more than 30% of the population, and that means hundreds of thousands of them
They also wield a very big influence in the economy of lagos.
They have strength in numbers plus a big influence, hence the need for a political representation/recognition in the state.
Why do you think that only the 3 biggest tribes have been running Nigeria since independence?
It's simply the same reason - numbers and influence!
However, l must say that the success and influence of lgbos in Lagos is also aided by the hospitality of the Yoruba, this credit must not be denied - it's hard to prosper in a hostile environment.

AMbode is our governor Anyway i listened to an mp3 voice on sound cloud purported to be that of Oba of Lagos and showing that Kabiyesi uttered those unfortunate words/threats. 

If that is true, I really feel it's a very bad moment of indiscretion for Kabiyesi to have said those things. It is totally unjustifiable. People say worse things in hush tones, they are never for public consumption. 

In any case, I think it's better for the warring parties to sheathe their swords. As unfortunate as those words are, a party may not emerge from it any better.

You do not travel 100 of miles to a foreign land and expect that you can determine who become their king for them. At least, you do not say it LOUDLY or RECKLESSLY.

Those who recklessly play INTRUSIVE POLITICS should do unto others what they can also accept from others.

Igbos and Yorubas need to be careful of the words they spew.

You can't come and demand that Yorubas change the culture that has enriched their lands for generations.

Yorubas have been tolerant and welcoming. They let Igbos run for important offices. They let igbos carry high positions in Yorubaland.

But many igbos turn their face and call Yorubas "amala people", "amala politics", "ugly" etc. Yorubas still cannot enjoy the same positions in Igboland because of tribalism and hatred towards Yorubas.

I pray that many Yorubas do not keep the Oba's words in their heart because Yorubas may forgive, but they do not forget. And because they're collective, they act in groups.

Please try putting yourself in the shoes of Lagos lgbos
If the table were turned and you were living in, say Onitsha, and the Obi threatened you and your folk to drown in the River Niger, if you failed to vote his candidate; would you accept the threat or take offence??
