He looks so old, sick and frail, and it all happened suddenly.
He looked much better as governor.

There are so many uncivilized and unabashed thugs masquerading as politicians in this country.

Imagine a gubernatorial candidate spewing such highly inflammatory rhetoric...on mass media!!!

Forget about change or transformation, no Nigerian politician really cares about the poor masses

How can you convince me you care, when you cheat, intimidate, maim and kill to win...makes absolutely no sense!

I can't help but marvel at the thought that some people alive and well today will die on Saturday.

The Big Bang theory is for now still a theory. But even at that I think you misunderstand it, it basically posits that the univerise and all the celestial bodies resulted from one big initial explosion and continues to expand as a result.

How does this in anyway threatened or counter the explanation given by many religions? Could that initial explosion not be a physical manifestation of the Creative Act - Let There be Light? Could this not be the work of The Creator?

Personally I think it's when we insist on a literal interpretation of scriptural knowledge that we run into problems with science.
I really share your views on this, l really do
l have also been of the opinion that science can be merged, to some extent, with religious beliefs when answering some of life's biggest questions
My narrative concerning the Big Bang Theory, however, was on a pure scientific take on the origin of the universe - as different from that of religion.
l was wondering how you could get such perfection that is the cosmos from a chaotic and cataclysmic event like the Big Bang.
Science talks about the BBT, with little or no emphasis on how it came about, what caused it.
On the other hand, religion posits that the universe came from a supernatural being, God, with no emphasis on how He came into being, what "caused" Him.

Both theories are inconclusive.

I strongly this issue has been overflogged. The Oba and Jimi Agbaje are related. Oba Akiolu claimed to have acted on behalf of Ambode but has further helped the campaign of Jimi. Both the Yorubas and Igbos are only causing more harm here. The APC has disassociated itself from the Oba and so has Ambode. People should be allowed to vote whomever they see fit to rule over them. The Eze Ndigbo in Lagos is wise enough to understand that the Igbos should foster unity and overlook the clown of the Oba.

If e-warriors, particularly Igbo TANoids are still inciting violence with this urge, then I'd say they've not gotten over the defeat of GEJ. It's high time we put childish acts behind us. Today, tomorrow or the next, we'll leave this world and what would be left of the Yorubaland/Biafra struggle? It's high time we had a rethink.
The truth is majority of lgbos and Yorubas on here don't really hate each other or care about ethnic supremacy.
Most tribal e-wars only stem from people trying to defend the pride of their tribe .

You spoke exceedingly well, especially the last 2 sentences
May you live long and prosper

I believe the APC have tried their best to show they hold the Igbos in Lagos in high esteem. Ambode has condemned the statement made by Akiolu, Fashola has apologized on his behalf, Tinubu has dissociated APC from such threat and our respected General has also apologized and asked you to move on.

The PDP are now capitalizing on this and wanna reap from where they didn't sow.

Now, Fashola might begin to regret why he did well for Lagos if this is how they will pay him and his party back. We all know these APC guys did well in Lagos and I believe we shouldn't fix it if it's not broken.

I just hope the Igbos will think more deeply and not allow hate overwhelm them. Some people are already seeing the Igbos as anti APC.

APC have tried their best in Lagos, they have apologized on behalf of Oba Akiolu, they have shown Igbos they value them & their votes. If after all these the Igbos still say they will vote Against Ambode for that preposterous reason, NA DEM SABI O
People should vote for whomever they choose.
A responsible government, as the APC is touting themselves, should
be able to cater to needs of the people irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds
APC did not do good for the lgbos alone; whatever good they did was for all Lagosians, including the indigenous Yorubas and other ethnic groups...the government provided a good environment for everyone to thrive...the Igbos don't owe the APC government any votes
The lgbos have been living and prospering in Lagos for decades, it didn't start, neither will it end with APC.
No matter what harsh policies the APC deploys on the lgbos, when they win, the lgbos will continue living and prospering in Lagos...they have seen far worse.

The lgbos have come to stay in Lagos, they are never leaving.
People should live with it and move on.

"Heroes are born not made",
How can i call him a hero wen he was pressurised to make the call, so GEJ remained clueless till d end
Laurent Gbagbo was advised and begged to concede defeat by all and sundry, AU, UN, ECOWAS, US, UK, France etc; we all know how that turned out.
The "heroism" on the part of GEJ is that he agreed to make the call, having listened to the voice of reason.
There is a big difference between someone who listens to advice-GEJ, and someone who doesn't- Gbagbo
The second aspect of the "heroism" is, that singular action, no matter how it came about, saved thousands of lives and property.
Many people alive today owe their lives to that simply less-than-ten- minutes call
Don't be blinded by sentiments.
Open your eyes and see the big picture.

This is why I am cautiously optimistic and wary of this much touted "change"
The same members of the government/party that was just booted out are rejoining the incoming government, and are being welcomed with open arms.
Coupled with the fact that many stalwarts of the incoming government were once spearheads of the ousted government.

Am l to believe that these traitors, both old and new, have imbibed a new ideology different than the ones they held in the ousted dispensation/partyhuh

ls anyone really convinced that these selfish, greedy, opportunistic charlatans have turned a new leaf ??

Have they really denounced greed and corruption by joining the APC
or is it business as usual under a new party??

l am no fool, if you bathe a pig, clothe it in fine lining, scent it with cologne and put a diamond ring on its snout, it will still go back to the gutters...a pig will always be a pig

A cautionary tale.

PoliticsRe: Oba Of Lagos Should Apologise To Igbo People ‘without Delay’ – Falana by Defcon1(m): 4:04pm On Apr 07, 2015

It takes two to tango.

Oba Akinolu may not be right on this but the attitude of our Igbo brothers and sisters could frustrate one.

Having helped them more than what their region has done for them, instead of being grateful; their actions seem to be undermining the essence of our existence through their incendiary statements. Calling their hosts cowards- what do you want after that-fight to show we are not cowards.

Oba Akinolu is their match and that is why the situation seems difficult now.

A gentle king could be disobeyed easily but did they say anything at the palace? No. They dare not.

It was after leaving the palace that chest beating, ultimatum , etc started surfacing.

Who then is the cowards? Ta lo fe gbenan woju ekun lai f'eje we ( who wants to put light at the face of a tiger without being bathed with blood)

Remember, 'He who makes peaceful resolution difficult , has made violence inevitable.'
The lgbo leaders accorded the Oba his due respect in the confines of his palace, by not speaking out of turn, and you call them cowards??

lf they had disrespected him you will still accuse lgbos of lacking respect for a hallowed throne of the Yoruba,as well as having no regard for their host.

midolian:
thank you..my stereotyping has little to do with wat the igbo guy said. I served in a place(bode saadu, kwara state) dominated by the igbos and I saw how high they raised their shoulders among others. Many of them tried evey possible means to make money outta poor innocent children and also took advantage of their fellow corp members..some chose to call my hausa/fulani friends "nama"(meat) sef cos they don't like his tribe while some call the muslims "boko haram"...now, tell me more about stereotyping...

See I ve met and mixed with thousands of igbos my entire life and if I must be frank with you, there are very few with almost impeccable attitudes.. I do tolerate them and that's why I get to find out the good ones outta them.. I hate to say I don't like majority of them angry
Just like you l have mingled with many folks from varying tribes, and l found out that all tribes have good and bad eggs.
But unlike most people l don't lump the majority of the people of a tribe together under one banner and give them a single name.
l prefer dealing with people on individual basis
Most of our beliefs and attitudes stem from social interactions not necessarily genes.
If an Igbo man is born and brought up exclusively in Yoruba land, he would definitely behave like a Yoruba, and not know he's lgbo till he is told- and vice versa.
I choose to see an individual first as a human being, then a Nigerian, and lastly as a member of an ethnic group(that is only if it is relevant to proceedings).

Good to have detribalized people like you
