blessedvisky:
you are right. The Bible says knowledge puffeth up embarassed lipsrsealed. Today's Christians have been so encumbered with arguments, theology, 'fact-finding', New Age teachings, etc that they have forgotten what it means to be a follower of Christ. Jesus said 'I am the good shepherd' . But Christians today would rather be goats angry .All am trying to say is pls let us put aside all those unnecessary things we do and let's all look up to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. smiley wink . Peace, out. smiley
Good morning, and thanks for your contribution. Indeed, knowledge puffs up. That's the reason we have to always check our motives for seeking knowledge. Like you rightly said, today, we are more concerned about who is right or wrong; we are more concerned with proving others wrong than we are with our own eternal salvation. We have really digressed from what Christians were known for those early days.

Too much knowledge, without the accompanying wisdom and humility will to self-delusion and vanity; we need to be very wise. The devil is endearing our souls to vain knowledge, but we have allowed Him do that. Some Christians now study the Bible purely to get them enamored for arguments and vain philosophies of men.

We really need to put aside these unprofitable matters, and follow arduously the weightier matters of humility, faithfulness and service. We must go back to Calvary once again; we must visit Golgotha once again; we must enflame our first love once again; we must weep at the feet of Jesus once again; we must look unto Jesus, the Captain and Saviour of our soul.

May God keep our hearts aflame for Him.

Shalom.
Christianity EtcBrethren, Have You Ever Heard/read About The Azusa Street Revival? by dein77(op): 1:11am On Jan 05, 2015
I just finished viewing a narrative on the Azusa Street Revival on YouTube. Oh, how my heart genuinely burned with the love of God. Oh, how my thoughts soared to the blessed thoughts of pouring out my entire being for the Lord Jesus!!!

For the uninitiated, the Azusa Street Revival was a pentecostal revival event that happened sometime around 1906 in Los Angeles, USA.

Brother Seymour was really influenced deeply by the Holy Spirit to consecrate days and weeks to prayer and fasting in anticipation of a revival that will be akin to the Biblical Pentecost Day. Acts 2.

For once, as I was listening to the narrative, my heart was so captured by the Lord that nothing else really mattered to me. For once, I forgot all the usual arguments on tithes, firstfruits, trousers, etc, but instead focused my mind on the positive transformation we can bring to our neighbourhood if we would wholeheartedly devote our time to deep prayers and fasting.

Whoever hasn't seen or read about this revival, should endeavour to do so. God will send us a revival if we would humble ourselves and unite in prayers.

May God bless us all.

Shalom!!!!

Hi deni77, I was thinking my ogas at the top would answer your question but it seems like they're still battling with xmas and new year chicken.

Well to answer your question, you can embellish your chords by phatting, altering, extending, inverting, suspending, diminishing, argumenting and braking them and doing all those jargon is pretty simple, just read through this link http://www.pianoscales.org/chords.html or http://www.8notes.com/piano_chord_chart/ when you're through, we'll go to the next one.

BTW, what's your favorite key?

Dramadiddy, where you dey?
Thanks for the reply. It's really appreciated. I will endeavour to check out the sites you indicated.

BTW, F Major is my favourite key. I will continue to update my experience and progress here.

Happy New Year to you all.

It's really nice to meet fellow keyboardist here. I started playing the piano a few moments ago. I developed interest in it due to the embarrassing absences occasioned by our only keyboardist.

Well, it hasn't really being that easy. I have started playing in my church, albeit only during worship. Even then, my playing is plain too chordy. I need to add some embellishments to it.

That's exactly why I'm here.

Any help will be appreciated.

By the way, thanks KARLEB for responding.

PoliticsWith The Current Political Situations, My Hope In Nigeria Is Revived! by dein77(op): 4:24pm On Jan 01, 2015
Happy New Year to you all. It's a privilege to be alive and well. It's a miracle.

Well, I have never been a PDP person. Infact, I have been an ardent critic of the PDP. I have always looked forward to having a better political party taking over leadership from the PDP. The PDP is responsible for our backwardness and bad image before the International Community. It has continued to waste the goodwill freely given it by the Nigerian masses.

I'm yet to totally announce my porting to the APC. I have my reservations about it. However, I must confess never in the history of this nation has a ruling political party this jittery and apprehensive of the opposition party. This is indeed good news for us and our democracy.

With the ongoing political events, my confidence in Nigeria has soared to a new height- height unknown to me before. Soon, the era of PDP AFFAIR will be over.

I hope the APC continues to endear itself to the hitherto disrespected and misruled Nigerians. Even if the PDP eventually wins the oncoming Presidential elections ( something I secretly doubt), I believe it will never take us for granted.

This is the good that comes with a vibrant and focused opposition party.

Positive changes are coming our way. Naija will eventually rise to the top it's being destined for.

My hope in Nigeria has soared.

Music/RadioKeyboardist In The House: I Need Some Help. by dein77(op): 8:46pm On Dec 31, 2014
Happy New Year to you all. Wishing you all a beautiful and prosperous 2015.

I started playing the keyboard very recently. I can boldly say I'm doing pretty fine. But i need some assistance.

I've been playing basically major chords. It's kinda too chordy and boring when all a keyboardist does is to rise and fall with a lead vocalist in a song. It's really frustrating.

I obviously know I'm lacking some requisite skills.

My problem: Between the chords, I barely do anything else. The period of silence is too much. I believe some little things are missing. How can I keep playing steadily without keeping that long silence?

Besides, how useful are 7th chords?

The most foolish comment I've read since the beginning of this month. I pray this foolishness doesn't escort you into the coming new year.

Many people follow a particular political party for various reasons. I'm pretty comfortable economically, hence your rant about my being a paid PDP stooge makes no sense. Money isn't the ultimate on life.

I've always being a sworn enemy of the PDP. My colleagues in the office know this fact.

I only started tacitly supporting the PDP during the early shaky period of the APC.

But recent events seem to be swaying me in the direction of the APC, though I haven't fully decided.

Even as a staunch GEJ supporter, events emanating from himself and his handlers are becoming difficult, if not impossible, to defend him.

I'm still monitoring the political happenings. I'm really finding it tough to defend GEJ's words and actions.

If things continue this way, I might eventually port to the APC- after all the PDP has wasted 15 years of our democracy.

FamilyRe: What Has Life Taught You? by dein77(m): 8:14am On Dec 26, 2014
Life has taught to be myself; to love myself and others.

Life has taught to run away from procrastination.

Life has also taught me that bad things do also happen to the good folks.

Life has also taught me the value of vision and persistence; I have really achieved some great things this year.

Life has taught me to be more tolerant with others, especially little children.

Lastly, life has taught me that perseverance is better than talent.

2015 shall be better for us all.

The blessings are so many I can't name all. However some are more outstanding.

I'm still alive and well.
My parents are still alive and well.
My job is still intact.
I'm not in debt to any individual.
My marriage is still intact.
I'm still a Christian.
My structure has gone beyond lintel.
God gave me a beautiful daughter this year.
My wife, who was diagnosed with fibroid, delivered our daughter safely. Fibroid later disappeared from all scan results.
My piano skills are improving.

It's being a great year.

You too can drop a few of what God has done for you.

Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
