Christianity EtcRe: Christian Hedonism And The Pursuit Of Happiness by dein77(m): 7:41am On Jan 08, 2015

Thanks a lot bro.
Bro, you're most welcome.

I would have stopped attending any Church if not my personal understanding of Jesus Christ. There are thousands out there who are barely hanging on. There are thousands out there who have become so disillusioned with the whole arrangements but are merely hanging on due to societal expectations and pressures.

We won't last long IF we do not have a personal conviction of what we're doing. Hence, we need the REVELATION that comes from the Word. It's revelations that fuel our love and passion for Jesus.

Apostle Paul had that encounter and he never recovered from it. He ran his race successfully to the end, and willingly offeredhis neck to the bloodthirsty NERO in the First Century.

Christianity was an endless struggle to me till I got a revelation of the Lord Jesus through the Word, and ever since, my life has never remained the same.

Take Jesus and run; do not confer with flesh and blood. Seek the revelation of the Lord Jesus. Seek it prayerfully. Seek it passionately.

All shall be in vain if we give up. All shall be in vain if we back out now.

May God bless you sir.

Am just tired of this version of Christianity. It has been so corrupted that you hardly encounter the real life of God.
Dear, good morning. You're not alone. It's not an isolated case.

All you need do is take time to prayerfully study the Pauline Epistles. Take Jesus Christ, and just leave all the human additions out of it. That way, you can maintain your spiritual sanity.

Bro, your post is a bit long but I was able to scan through it. Nigerians have a way/habit of distorting whatever we receive or inherit from the Whites. The painful part is, we distort it to our own disadvantage.

Bro, I can relate with your experience cos I also USED to be a victim of what you just described. The version of Christianity practised here is really different from the one Christ planted and portrayed in the Bible..

Bro, I personally had to study the Pauline Epistles to understand what Christianity is all about, coupled with the Four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Actually, Christ's object for dying for our salvation wasn't entirely for us to make Heaven, though that's part of it. He died so we could be reconciled back to God, and enjoy that blissful relationship we foolishly lost at Eden. Heaven is a consequence of our love relationship with God.

Indeed, we have become more self centred and greedy, thanks to the Prosperity Gospel. Christianity isn't just about us. It's all about the welfare and progress of our neighbours. It's in our neighbours happiness that we have ours.

Otherwise, how could federal lawmakers make such a despicable comment?

The sun is about to set for the PDP. The party, synonymous with everything evil, awaits its slow but sure implosion, and eventual translation into the abyss of oblivion. Change is imminent; change is here.

Indeed, nothing can stop an idea( in this case, change) whose time has come. We gave the PDP 15 years of goodwill. instead of it to utilize it to our betterment and progress, it further enshrined corruption and nepotism, and thereby plunged our beloved nation into an endless cycle of underdevelopment and retrogression. Its time the PDP pays for that waste. And it MUST pay. Full.

We have been insulted, disrespected, scorned at, and ruled with utter disdain, gargantuan impunity and disrespect. Its time for us too to treat it with an equal dose of disrespect, apathy, and aversion. Its time to vote out the PDP. Valentine day IS our day. Fifteen years are enough for a sensible government to fix our economy, provide us stable electricity, provide other BASIC amenities that even the MOST CORRUPT of nations do for their citizens. No, not the PDP. Never in our history shall we allow such a despicable party to manage our affairs.

Agreed the APC may not give us an Eldorado overnight, but its worth the try. Sometimes, and in this case, the angel you do not know is BETTER than the devil you know.

If we vote for the PDP, then we are our own greatest enemy, and posterity with hold us accountable. With the PDP, the future of our nation and that of our children will remain bleak. We may NOT have this opportunity again. DEATH TO THE PDP. A vote for the PDP is a vote for our continued slavery and misery; lets put an end to this EVIL EMPIRE.

Vote for the APC. Whoever still votes for the PDP is being UNFAIR to our nation and future generations.

God has answered our decades of prayers by offering us this golden chance; lets not waste it like the PDP did its own.

Proudly Ijaw!!!!!!
Proudly Nigerian.

God bless Nigeria...............

Sensible.

However, I still find it rather strange that GMB didn't make ample arrangements to have his certificates handy. That's some cheap point gifted to the PDP.

PoliticsWith Falling Oil Prices, Why Aren't We Buying Fuel At Cheaper Rates? by dein77(op): 1:09pm On Jan 06, 2015
Economists in the house should enlighten us.

Aren't the Nigerian masses supposed to purchase fuel, especially PMS, at a cheaper price?

If we bought PMS N97 per litre when oil was around $110 per barrel, why do we still buy PMS N97 now that oil has dropped to a little below $60 per barrel?

This doesn't make any sense. Or maybe I'm missing something.

God is ever ready to pour His Spirit on us but the devil has so much occupied our heart with so much religious activities.

We are too busy to take time to pray or study the Word of God.

We pursue vigorously worldly riches and fame but throw righteousness to the back door.

We pursue titles and positions in the church rather than divine power etc

But I know my redeemer liveth and He will raise up souls that will shun all these evils and hunger for God until they are filled to overflowing. I pray He counts among them!

We must be ready to shun whatever knowledge, right, position, money, fame with think we have, count them as dungs and humbly trust in Jesus only.
I'm really happy to meet like minds here. God is raising a new horde of people that will take the banner of righteousness to nee heights.

I pray we're amongst them!

Christianity EtcWhat Do You Intend To Achieve In 2015? What Are Your Targets This Year? See Mine by dein77(op): 11:50am On Jan 05, 2015
First things first. Happy New Year. I'm indeed very grateful to God for successfully bringing us all into this beautiful, New Year. We aren't here because we're more righteous or godly than they who couldn't crossover with us. My sincere condolence goes to the families that may have lost one loved one or the other. And I pray God gives them the fortitude to bear these losses. To my late vibrant and youthful cousin, may your gentle soul continue to rest in peace. Amen.

Well, that's life. Crazy stuff do happen.

I don't think this is the appropriate section for this thread. But since I visit this section more often than the rest, let me drop it here. Please, bear with me.

I have been in 2015 a few weeks even before January 1, 2015. I have cleared planned how my year would eventually unfold. I have written down my desired goals. Goals aren't wishes. Wishes are just what they are- wishes. Goals are targets with a well thought-out plan to achieve them.

The euphoria is gradually fading; the excitement getting duller, and the reality of a new year beckons. The year has began in earnest; time has never been anybody's friend. Hence the need to start planning/executing our plans. The rat race has started once again. Most folks are poorer than they were a few days ago, and that includes me. The cycle never ends. The ends actually hardly meet.

If we must experience a better 2015, then we must do things differently this year. We must break free from the routine into the planned.

So what do you really want to achieve this year? What are your targets this year?

See mine:

FINANCIALLY
To spend more frugally; to attempt having another source of income.
To endeavor to spend more on my needs than wants.
To review progress every 3 months.

PROFESSIONALLY/CAREER
To add NEBOSH Oil and Gas Safety certificate to my CV;
To add OSHAS 18001 to my CV.
To successfully complete and defend my degree project this year.
To review my MS Office skills again.
To take my piano skills a step higher. It may become the alternative source of income, you know?
To enroll in Grade I music Theory with the ABSRM( London Music Body)

MARITALLY
To spend more time with my wife and kids by reducing the time devoted to watching UEFA CL, La liga etc.
To listen more to my wife and kids. I'm a poor listener. These people need our time more than they do need our money.

SPIRITUALLY
To successfully complete the RCCG 2015 40-day fast.
To endeavor to keep the family altar burning more and more.
To study the Pauline Epistles of Romans, I & 2 Corinthians, Colossians, Philippians. Would love to study others if time permits.
To argue less on trivial matters, like tithes, firstfruits, trousers, headcovering, etc....

I keep them few so I can easily track and tick them off once anyone is achieved.

He who fails to plan, has PLANNED to fail.

Lets see some of your targets.

ayoku777 I agree with you. What is coming is greater.
dein77 I believe for the next revival to come we need both watchmen end those that make the path straight.
I have been reading Bible prophets about the coming revival. And I have find out that we need both intercessors and teachers with a massage from God. The reason why the Azusa revival happened is because men discover a truth and they stand strong on that truth until it becomes a reality.
Before the revival large part of the Church believe miracles and supernatural things doesn't happen in our time. But some people discovered that it can happen and the believed in the supernatural and preached it. Because of this they saw it happen.

For the next revival to happen we need those who are strong in prayers and those who will hold on God's word and preach it with boldness.
We need people who would seek for the pure revelation of Christ and not just knowledge and theologies.
We need people will be filled with love for God is love himself. People who will go out with such passion. People who with cash on fire for Christ.
We need people who will not apply their wisdom or abilities but will summit to God.

We need to stop focusing on knowledge, theology or even doctrine. We need to focus on growing in love. We need to seek desperately to know God intimately. We need to feed on life and not knowledge.
We need to be consumed with the things of God.
May God help us.
Wow...and wow!!

I will have to read this your submit again. Thanks for this gracious contribution.

It seems we were better off when we knew little.

What an irony!

Oh, how I long for a new infilling with the Holy Ghost!
Christianity EtcRe: Brethren, Have You Ever Heard/read About The Azusa Street Revival? by dein77(op): 6:21am On Jan 05, 2015
ayoku777:
Wow, you're a kindred soul.

I've read about Azusa street revival and it is really inspiring. But mark my words sir, there is another revival coming, that will be so great, calling it a revival will be an understatement, almost an insult. What is coming is more than the revival of the body, it is the perfecting of the body.

Azusa street revival, even pentecost will be a light shower or a former rain compared to the latter rain. I always tell people that even the apostles did not do the greater works Jesus promised we will do, they didn't even fully do what He did. And His words MUST come to pass.

As it is now, people, even fellow christians, are judging the church by its present lukewarm state. And fact is, the church is truly in its worst spiritual recession almost ever. But what we don't know is that, water levels always recede whenever a tsunami is brewing.

It will soon do the Devil like film trick. The feast of tabernacle is brewing, the last and greatest feast -also called the feast of ingathering. The glory of God will soon be revealed in a measure so great that anyone who doesn't believe then will have to be a son of perdition, someone in the image of Lucifer.

It is prophesied that the outer court will be given to the gentiles for a while. That is presently the case in the church now. The water levels of the church's influence and impact has receded greatly, and the world is almost literally dancing on our porch.

But there is a proverd in yoruba, that translates into something like "When you see a bull push back its butt, it has gone gather power".

But we need people like you, people with a heart for tarrying and beseeching. Such people are called the firstfruits. Every feasts of the Lord has firstfruits, people who were willing to tarry until the feast is birthed.

The 12 were the firstfruits of the feast of firstfruit. The 120 were the firstfruits of the feast of pentecost. And the 'prophetic' 144,000 are going to be the firstfruit of the coming feast of tabernacle.

Firstfruits are usually the tarriers and beseechers for the birthing of a feast, and the first to walk in the spiritual reality it represents.

Hmmm, so much to say on this topic, it is the most timely truth, not all the fringe doctrinal arguments we have (though they are partly important too).

But one advice, please, don't let this zeal in you die. One thing is sure, the enemy will come for it.

God bless you.
God bless you, too. And thanks for contributing to this topic.

Yes, indeed the Church is at its worst spiritual recession in decades, if not centuries.

But like you, I also see a last spiritual awakening that will so sweep in millions of sinners into the fold before the eventual Second Coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Christ is still interceding our behalf, and He's our helper.

I believe a pervasive revival will soon sweep through our land, and all flesh will witness it.

Its our prayer that it happens soon enough.

Shalom.
