Symphony007: If you are wondering why there is a strange sense of calm in the presidency during all the decamping by members of the PDP, well wonder no more cause I have a theory, you would think there would be great panic amongs the president, party leadership,etc as more and more members jump ship but so far the party has been calm.

The reason for this might be, while the media, political commentators and nigerians see the movement of some PDP members to the APC as decamping, jonathan sees it as a purge. Jonathan is purging out all the PDP members that has made his leadership of the party a head arch. This to him is an opportunity to remake a PDP in his own image, with likeminded and trusted followers that come 2015 he will present to nigerians as a brand new part. While the opposition who brandish themselves as a new alternative, progressives!!! Will present themselves to nigerians with all those old criminal faces who left PDP. How will the APC brandish itself as progressives with the regressive former PDP lot in their mist. This is a great possibility and I hope the APC is paying attention!!!

007truthbetold: Yes, Port Harcourt is working! And Yes Governor Amaechi has done and he's still doing a lot to transform Port Harcourt and the entire Rivers State. Segun Oshogbo's dubious photos purportedly showing bad roads to discredit the Governor Amaechi administration is the biggest fraud that I have seen on this forum. Segun showed us a bad patch on Woji road but did cleverly refuse to tell us that Amaechi is reconstructing and expanding that road and work is ongoing right now as the photos below show. He also insidiously refused to tell us that the other entrance to Woji from Rumuomasi, Rumuogba and Oginigba has been reconstructed and expanded. Erstwhile tiny one lane roads are now expanded to brand new two-lane, three-lane roads. He also didn't mention that Trans Amadi- Garrision road is been reconstructed and expanded by Amaechi. Work is actually on going on that road. The roundabout at the Slaughter end of the road is almost ready. The pictures of Abacha road he posted is alien to those who live in Port harcourt. Those photos of roads posted by Segun is a big fraud, a deliberate attempt to deceive. Amaechi has done a lot in terms of road construction and reconstruction in Port Harcourt and the State. Some of the roads include, Elekahia/Rumuomasi road, Rumuola/Rumuokwuta road, Rumuobiakani/Old Aba road, Oginigba/Slaughter road, G U Ake-Eliozu road/flyover, Stadium road, Nkpogu road, Eleme junction flyover/interchange, Obiri-Ikwerre/East-West road flyover/interchange, Agip flyover, Ikwerre road, Olu-Obasanjo road, Azikiwe road, internal roads in Old Port Harcourt Township and in Dioubu. most of these roads are reconstructed into dual carriageways with integrated underground drainages, streetlights and greenery. The pictures below tell a fraction of the story.

The Kawu Baraje faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has demanded the immediate sealing of the Presidential Villa, Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Legacy House (PDP Secretariat Annex) and other venues where political meetings allegedly holds, if the action of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, on the Adamawa Governor’s Lodge, was to be justified.

The National Publicity Secretary of the faction, which is also called the “New PDP”, Chukwuemeka Eze, who stated this in a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday, argued that since President Goodluck Jonathan hold political meetings in the Presidential Villa, while the PDP Governors also meet in the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, both places should be sealed as, according to him, they belonged to the people.
Mr. Mohammed had on Saturday ordered the sealing of the Adamawa Governor’s Lodge, saying it had been turned to the secretariat of the PDP faction.

Denying that the New PDP had already turned the Lodge into its secretariat, Mr. Eze noted that Mr. Mohammed was desperately working to provoke the faction as well as Nigerians, adding that it would only halt its plan to take legal action on the matter if FCTA sealed the Presidential Villa, Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, Legacy House (PDP Annex) and other places where political meetings were similarly held.
