Kobojunkie: No it isn't better to compare in anyway. As long as you have books written by human hands, there will always be errors in its translations - even in reading what is written, many are bound to unconsciously insert their personal delusions/ideas(they call it "special interpretation" between the lines. The Spirit of God does not give any type of "special interpretation" as far as even the Bible is concerned and there is no scripture to back up that claim.
Since the book is written and present in Human language, What I have found as best practise, as is same with any other book out there, is to pick the translation that is in the language you are best able to comprehend, and try to let the book read itself to you, rather than you reading extra meanings into what is written. ok So, do you notice any difference? You see the Lord Jesus Christ cannot bring trouble. And the Bible is not the same as any other book. This is where I don't believe you |

Kobojunkie: A better advice is that you learn that language evolves over time, but the word of God does not change with language. You are reading from King James because you were probably one of those fed the lie that it is an accurate translation or something. But King James is not exempt as far as errors and mistakes in the translations of the words of men contained in it. That said, this is the same passage pulled from the King James translation
Notice that the commands are still there... Am not saying that King James version is totally correct, but at least is better compare to this version you are reading. let's take up. Write that passage of the Bible where erv said that Jesus has not come to bring peace but trouble, write the version of King James and let's see the difference |
Christianity Etc › Re: Holiness Made Simple by delkuf(m): 7:28pm On Aug 14, 2020 |
kpakpandoN: Many times, people say it is impossible to live holy. That is not true. Jesus lived on earth for thirty-three years without committing even a single sin. If Jesus could do it, you can do it too because His grace is sufficient for you (2nd Corinthians 12:9). The problem is that we look at the concert of holiness with so much fear and just conclude that it is not possible. Holiness is simply obedience. “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” James 4:17
Once you know the right thing to do, do it. Simple. You have read in your Bible not to steal; don’t steal. You have read that it is wrong to lie; don’t lie. Just obey. That’s all.
Now, you may say “Obedience to every single instruction from God is not easy,” but if you take it one at a time, then you would see the possibility.
“And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23
Jesus said you should take up your cross daily. If you think about keeping your body and teeth clean for the rest of your life, it will look like a lot of work. But when you just ensure that you keep them clean daily, then you will achieve the goal for the rest of your life. You brush your teeth every morning, you take your bath every morning, so also should you decide to live holy every morning. When you wake up in the morning, renew your commitment to live holy just for that day. Tell yourself “Adeboye, throughout today, you will not commit any sin; you will live holy for the next twenty-four hours.” With just twenty-four hours as the goal, it is easier to achieve holiness. By the time you add thirty sets of twenty-four hours together, you would have been holy for one month and then one year and so on. Just take up your cross daily. Written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye. God bless you for sharing this |

Kobojunkie: I believe these are from ERV since it is written in common English language as used today. What do you mean? All this things you wrote, the Lord Jesus Christ didn't say they are commandment. It is you that is tagging it as a commandment. And I have problem that of the not bringing peace but trouble. that word trouble is not appropriate. I use to read the new living translation but there was lot of misinterpretation. So I stop Reading it. And Bible translation apart from King James version is nothing. Write that same Bible verse in King James version you will see it is a whole different thing. One piece of advice, stop reading erv, nlt version of the Bible |

Kobojunkie: Here are the 7 commandments for accepting Jesus Christ, the New Covenant.
Obedience is the key into the Kingdom of God. Acceptance means obedience to His commandments. No one can become a follower of Jesus Christ simply by wishing for it. Jesus required that those who choose to follow Him do the work that He commands they first do i.e. Obey that which He has stipulated. The New Covenant, Jesus Christ, is the Grace and Truth of God that God sent you, and Obedience is the key!
1. Be prepared to abandon parents, brother, sister, children, spouse, in-laws, e.t.c. 2. Abandon all that you know/believe, have, and all that you are 3. Bear your own burden (not someone else's cross- not even your family's or children's)
4. Become a child again in your thinking and your actions
5. Be prepared to lose life(reputation, career, control, property, etc.)
6. Desire above all to find and enter the Kingdom of God and also walk the path of righteousness, with God as your guide every step 7. Let go of all control you have over your life and circumstances, allowing God to take care of your every need Which Bible translation are you using. And you interpreted this list as the Lord Jesus Christ commandment |

Kobojunkie: God made two contract agreements between Himself and men, and these agreements are documented in the Bible. They are at the center of His relationship with man.
OLD Covenant : This agreement is documented beginning from Exodus 17 through to Deuteronomy 30 where it is ratified between God and the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, AND Jacob. No other people are included in this agreement, and the condition for obtaining the promise in this agreement is obedience. The old Covenant came with a yoke of about 613 Commandments, about 20 blessings, more than 30 curses, a burden that is borne by every person in the land, and a promise of eternal life in the land of Canaan. Only those whose ancestors line go back to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob could partake of this covenant. The seal of the Old Covenant was circumcision of the flesh.
This agreement is an everlasting agreement between God and the people of Israel (descendants of Abraham, Isaac, AND Jacob) - no other people/persons are covered under that agreement. Also It cannot be changed or done away with. New Covenant : God Himself, through His Word(Jesus Christ), made yet another agreement with man. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of the New Covenant (The Grace and Truth of God), and only those who accept Him can partake of Him. The details of the New Covenant are found throughout the Gospels and are detailed in the Life examples, Teachings, and most importantly, WORDS(Truth) that is Jesus Christ. The condition for acceptance of this Covenant is also Obedience(God does not change).
This agreement comes with a yoke of about 46 commandments, each person carrying his own cross (burden, not someone else's), approximately 17 blessings, approximately 30 curses, and the promise of everlasting life beginning right here on earth, and eventual entry into the kingdom of God for those who make it. Every human being on the planet is eligible for this covenant, however, there are 7 commandments stipulated in other for one to truly "accept" Jesus Christ, the New Covenant. The seal of the New Covenant is God Himself, through His Spirit.
Compared to the Old Covenant, the New Covenant, Jesus Christ, comes with an easy yoke, and a light burden. And He, Jesus Christ, is gentile and humble at heart.
The details of the New Covenant were concluded when Jesus Christ said, on the cross, "It is finished". He gave us all the commandments that were considered part of the New Covenant, and what was left was the fulfillment of Prophecy to free mankind from the burden of sin and death, as well as ensure that His New Covenant reached my ears and your ears- His great commission set this in motion. The Spirit of God, the seal, arrived approximately 4 months(120 days) later to fully ratify the New Covenant with man. Where in the Bible is the 76 commandment of the new convenant stated and 17 blessings and 30 curses. And do you know through the Christ we are descendants of Abraham |

Kobojunkie: Eternity comes through Jesus Christ.... He is eternal life itself. And before Jesus Christ, the Old Covenant law applied to those who were descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, where in the bible does it suggest that ALL of Mankind has eternity bestowed on them from before the arrival of Jesus Christ? Also, did Jesus Christ promise eternal life then to all of mankind or just to those who accept Him? Can I ask you a question, what is the old convenant and the new convenant. you keep saying this things |

AntiChristian: Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. I never told you God changed. please don't misquote me. I told because of the love he has for his son and the price the son paid for our sins, the distance and the offence of man before God was done away. Man sinned and the price of that sin is for someone who hasn't sin to die for man. Now when the Lord Jesus Christ came and died for the sin of man, that barrier between God and God was distory. Man now had the grace to move closer to God. The killings in the old testament due to the sins of man made gave us a law. |

One God divided into three yet one!
In Matthew 27:16 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" .
This proved Jesus has a God. Yet, he is one with God!
Satan Tempts Jesus (God) Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
Here we see the Holy Spirit leading Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Let's just say Satan tempted God (since Jesus is one with God).

AntiChristian: I don't have a bias mind. You have two Gods. The God of the Old Testament and the God of the New testament.
It's either the God of the New Testament displaced that of the OT or maybe the God of the OT changed his mind.
Can you tell us why the Lord became gentle in NT? I made a mistake with that post. There is only one God in two different dispensation. In the time of old testament, the children of Israel were under the law. And like every other law, if you disobey, you will be punished. God never created man like this. it was when Adam and Eve sinned we were brought to this point. those killing is because God has sworn to kill any one that came the way of the children of Israel. He said he will bless any body that bless them and curse any body that curse them. It is a bad thing to be an enemy of the children of Israel. Whatsoever God says he fulfill. But when the Lord Jesus Christ came and die for our sin, it brought us into another dispensation. this is the dispensation of grace brought us closer with God. that is why God became gentle like you said. |

AntiChristian: So you have not read that verse and others?
Numbers Chapter 31:17-18 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves What do Christians have to say to this? This is their God commanding Moses to kill the women and CHILDREN and to keep the virgins alive for themselves.
Now over to you and please don't "off you mic"!
Numbers Chapter 31 7-12 7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males. 8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. 9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods. 10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. 11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. 12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
I wonder what Christians have to say about this? Using their own criteria against them this makes their God a false violent God. So once again Christians should not throw stones if they live in a glass house. Show me a new testament chapter with this type of message |
