Na SW dey give una life? Why not focus on holding your own leaders accountable?

Be rest assured the DAWN-backed and directed SWDC, as Amotekun is the best regional complementary security force to the NPF in our entire nation, will be the best regional development commission in Nigeria. Take that to the bank.
I'm from the SW. There's nothing wrong with me wanting to know what progress they have made so far. Their success will make a huge difference.

I know about DAWN commission. If SWDC works with their masterplan, they'll do well.

Abi o! Ordinary water is difficult to get in Tehran. They're always focused on how to bring down other nations. They're suspected of sponsoring Hezbollah, Houthis and their likes instead of concentrating their efforts on providing basic infrastructure for their people. I learnt that Israel offered to help them on the scarce water issue but they refused. Yet they're blaming Israel for their predicament.

I just read somewhere here that SEDC is yet to show evidence of what they've done with the 140bn allocated to them like other zones. Who is marginalising who?

Maybe reviving the regional status of federating units as done in the past will do us all a world of good.

NEDC has been functioning well. At least we've seen the commissioning of schools and other infrastructure. The others should do the same to make life easier for their people.

Waiting to see the impact of SWDC.

I remember that some years ago, some Kogi and Kwara people complained that some foreign Fulanis were being settled in their forests. I knew it will become a problem because they'll only be interested in driving away the indigenes so they can take over their land.

What are the Governors doing to protect their people? It's slowly beginning to look like the situation in Borno, Zamfara et al. It's so sad!
Politics › Re: I Was Paid ₦100,000 To Bomb Worshippers – Suspected Maiduguri Suicide Bomber by delpee(f): 7:24pm On Dec 31, 2025
joebeckz:
If anyone is wondering why other Muslims did not notice the freshly dug spot, it is because mosques usually have mats or rugs covering the floor. So it is very possible that no one noticed it. I do not think this story was made up to discredit the USA statement about the killing of Christians.

Bombings of mosques have been happening for a long time, and Muslims have also been killed many times. This is not new. I attended the University of Maiduguri, and I can say from experience that suicide bombings and other attacks have always been happening there. Are Christians being killed? Yes. But Muslims are also being killed.

The sad truth is that many of these killings are done by Muslims, and some of them have sympathizers within the Muslim community. Because of this, Christians in the North and other parts of Nigeria feel unsafe. Some Muslim clerics also make things worse, because some of the radical ones openly call for the death of Christians. The Deborah case is another issue that was not handled well by the Muslim community, and it confirmed the fears Christians already have.

Muslims need to stand up against these bad people and stop protecting or excusing them. That is the only way they can earn the trust of Christians living among them.

During the peak of the Maiduguri crisis, my church was burnt. St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Bulunkutu was attacked, and my parish priest was burnt alive. He had a gun, but he did not shoot at anyone. He only shot into the air to scare them away, but they jumped over the fence and entered the church. I was in the church that day.

I saw some boys who lived around the church join the crowd. They were holding sticks and chanting in Arabic. Our priest told us to jump over the fence behind the church to escape while he stayed back and kept shooting in the air. Everyone left the church except him.

That experience made me lose trust in the average Muslim. Some of the same people I joked with, played with, and talked to every day, who lived close to the church, pointed at the church and joined in burning it. I am not saying all Muslims are like this, but I do not want to find out the hard way who is and who is not. That is why I am careful around my Muslim friends. You never know who will betray you the next minute.

I have also noticed that many Muslims become aggressive when you say anything they feel is against Islam. I have argued with Muslim friends before about things in the Bible and the Quran. When they say things I do not agree with, like saying Jesus is not the Son of God, I do not get angry. But when I share my own opinion about their prophet based on my beliefs, they become furious. They want to fight me, even though they just said their own opinion about Jesus and I stayed calm.

These are people I call my best friends, because I would not have such discussions with someone I am not close to. All of these experiences have made me very careful around Muslims. They get angry easily, and many have violent tendencies when it comes to religion. Not all of them, but a lot of them
Hmmm! Same thing happened to Christians in Kaduna during the religous riots. Some friends relocated to the South after the shocking experience. Yet, there were Muslims who saved Christians who were to be killed.

I pray that we get over religous extremism in the North soonest.

Family › Re: My Nigerian Father Admitted He Has A Secret 9-Year-Old Son by delpee(f): 4:23pm On Dec 30, 2025
Oyinbogyal:
I’m mixed and living abroad. My mother is European and my father is Nigerian. My parents separated over 10 years ago, but they never officially divorced — they were legally separated.

The separation happened because my father did something very serious to my mother. In Europe, you cannot be removed from the family home simply because of marital problems. A married person is only forced out by the courts if something very severe happens. That is all I can say for privacy reasons, but it’s important context.

About a year after they separated, my father started begging my mother to take him back. This wasn’t occasional — it went on for years. At the same time, he was involved with a Nigerian woman from his own tribe. Behind that Nigerian woman’s back, he was still pressuring my mother to reconcile. My mum refused, but he never stopped trying.

Fast-forward to December 2025. Even this year, my father again went to my mother and asked her to get back together with him.

Then on Christmas Day, he finally admitted — not to me, not to my mother, not to all of us directly — but to my youngest sister, that he has a 9-year-old son he has been hiding from everyone. He then made my sister pass the message on to the rest of us. He could not say it to our faces himself.

What shocked me most is that this child was born about a two years after my parents separated — meaning that all the years my father was begging my mother to reconcile, he already knew he had a child elsewhere. He deliberately never told her… bear in mind this child lives in the same country as us in Europe but he is just been hidden.

When I called him to confront him, he confirmed everything. He also said something that disturbed me deeply: that he feels no real affection for the child and that the boy will never replace his “real family,” meaning us. Hearing a man speak that way about his own biological child was horrifying.

This is a fully Nigerian boy, same tribe as my father. Knowing my father’s own childhood — where he suffered badly under a cruel stepmother — I would have thought he might see himself in that child. But instead, he has completely compartmentalised him.

Meanwhile, the child’s mother still wants to marry my father. From what I can see, he continues to keep her hopeful without fully committing, while still fantasising about getting back with his legal “European wife” who doesn’t want him. He seems to keep multiple realities open at once.

What made everything click for my mother — and for me — is this:
If my mother had agreed to reconcile, my father could have moved back into the house legally as her husband. Because he would not repeat physical violence, she would have had no immediate way to remove him again via legal system/court. Only after securing his place back in the home could he then reveal that he had a child all along — effectively trapping her in a marriage built on deception.

That realisation is terrifying.

I also feel deep cultural dissonance. I told my father plainly: my mother is European. This kind of secrecy is not culturally acceptable where we live. It’s not “family affairs” or something to be normalised. Trust matters differently. Consent matters differently. So he cannot assume my mother will want him after hearing the news, she is not like the Nigerian ex you had a child with - in Nigeria it is normal for a woman to beg or wait for a man to marry you, in Europe it is shameful so he needs to stop thinking my mom will accept this.

This entire situation has destroyed my respect for him. I don’t feel anger as much as disgust and shame. I’m embarrassed to even explain this to my European friends. I feel like I’ve lost faith not just in him, but in my ability to trust what I thought were shared values.

I’m now engaged to marry a loving European man, and if I’m honest, this experience has made me afraid. Afraid of repeating cycles if I marry a Nigerian man. Afraid of normalising things I don’t believe in. I don’t reject my Nigerian heritage — I love the food, the music, the culture — but when it comes to marriage, honesty, and responsibility, I feel completely disconnected from what I’ve seen modeled.

Right now, I don’t even want to be around my father. I feel like something fundamental has collapsed, and I don’t know how to rebuild respect where trust no longer exists.

I’m sharing this here because I genuinely don’t know how to process it alone, and I want perspectives — especially from people who understand Nigerian family dynamics — without judgement.
Don't stress yourself over what you can't change. The child exists already. Learn the necessary lessons as you prepare for your own marriage. Plan to enjoy your marriage.

Your mum shouldn't bother about divorce if she can't afford it and he won't help her. Find out what she can do legally in terms of inheritance under this situation if that is her source of worry.

FG should plan for emergency medical assistance on the express road. At least 4 spots so they can reach any point within 15 mins max.

Ogun State should learn from Lagos which has an emergency response unit.

Complete lack of responsibility on the part of Joshua being inside a vehicle speeding on a pothole filled road and probably high on alcohol too. Could he have done that in the UK?

I'm your fan but completely ashamed of you for this incident that you're too old to be found engaging in. You just got involved in the avoidable death of 2 people due to recklessness.

Gov. Sanwo Olu has done well. The infrastructure development, the synergy between him and the Council Chairman who get sufficient funds for their projects and his down to earth, easy going style.

He has made conscious efforts to bring development to each part of IBILE. Also policies that add value to life like Ilera Eko, the agric sector in terms of food provision and meaningful skill up programs plus youth empowerment.
I remember COVID-19 time too. More grace to end well BOS.
