Natasha is really doing well. She's not in the class of those buying plastic buckets and clay pots as constituency projects. God bless her richly.

When there's no punishment for criminality, evil prevails. What do we expect when terrorists are forgiven and set free. It only emboldens them to do more.

What I don't understand is why the CP and KDSG chose to deny that it happened.

RE-MISSING NEWS ON IYA OGE OF LAGOS

I just spoke to a Family member of Mama Oprah and I was told She is not missing. She is fine, hale and hearty. But not presently in Nigeria according to the information.

The false alarm was said to have come from an Aggrieved person close to her

Mama Oprah who will be 91 by February was married to late Chief T.O.S. Benson, a prominent Nigerian lawyer and former Minister of Information

They got married in 1962 and were married till he passed away in 2008 at the age of 90.
Thanks for the update. The earlier news was quite worrisome.

APCs performance under Aregbesolas style generated so much hatred for the party. Unfortunately, Oyetola didn't fully mitigate the situation. Oyebamiji was the Finance Commissioner then which makes things worse for him. People still remember the half salary and non payment of gratuity and pension on schedule for so long.

Christianity Etc › Re: Nigerian Lady Shares A Controversial Post About Islamic Mindset (Photo) by delpee(f): 7:46pm On Jan 18
Self control and righteousness are some of the core values that are emphasised in the Bible.

A deep understanding of the body ( flesh), soul and spirit helps one to relate better with God. The fruits of the spirit as stated in the Bible (Galatians 5:22-23) reflects the will of God for our lives. The ability to effectively manage the desires of the flesh so that they don't overshadow the goodness of the spirit is the goal of a good Christian.

There are many Bible verses that guide human behaviour. Once one allows the spirit to rule over the flesh, it's easier to do God's will.
Politics › Re: How Thousands In Makoko Were Left Homeless On The Water Overnight! by delpee(f): 6:19pm On Jan 18
This is terrible though the government has been saying that they have to leave. Initially, it was those within the range of the electricity transmission towers.

LASG has refugee centres. They should open up those places for them while they support them in resettling elsewhere like the Oko Baba sawmillers who were moved to Ejinrin area.
Culture › Re: Ooni, Alaafin And Dynamic Colour Of Reality - Dare Babarinsa by delpee(f): 6:13pm On Jan 18
This shows that the former Alaafin agreed to rotation and it is now being implemented as advised and backed by law. Oba Owoade needs to calm down and look for meaningful solutions.

All this plenty fight when LG Chairman has the authority to deal with them. They should focus more on how to improve the standard of living in their communities instead of these ego battles.

No! No!! No!!! Laying down arms doesn't preclude the consequences of breaking the law. Whether they lay down arms or not is immaterial. They have killed, they have caused havoc. The only thing they deserve is full on wiping out.

They are only laying down arms now because they've not secured the heavy weaponry they need. When they do, they will unleash hell on that state. Unfortunately, Kogi state doesn't have a governor. Only a puppet. If not, a right thinking governor won't even be telling his people that their killers have promised to lay down arms. Brutal justice must be meted out.
He said there'll be no negotiation.

Nah! Not for those of us who experienced his rule first hand. Just that the economy was still a bit strong but we were being terrorised into submission against our collective will for true democracy. We couldn't even express our views freely in public spaces after a while for fear of being picked up or....Long story!
Politics › Re: Who Witnesse Abacha Stove? (Pictures) by delpee(f): 9:37pm On Jan 17
Abacha era. It started mainly during the June 12 saga when Nupeng went on strike. The alternative (which we used) was coal pot. Gas and kerosene were not available. We occasionally used electric cooker sometimes... when available.

Thanks to the Rapid Response guy who was on routine patrol and who helped me ward them off on the 3rd MB some years back. God's light will always shine on his path. He sent the wicked guys away and stayed till my tyre was fixed and I left. He didn't take a dime from me.

Namaster:
It's like there is a COALITION of Media Houses who have conspired to be AWFUL at their jobs.

ALL over the world, news companies are FAILING left and right. They are more concerned with MANIPULATING people than communicating the news.

Just look at this NONSENSE headline.

It made it seem like banks would deduct 7.5% VAT from the FULL amount of each transfer.

Meanwhile, the reality is that the 7.5% would be charged on the BANK CHARGES for said transactions.

If your bank charges you #26 to transfer #100K.
The government now says they must charge 7.5% of #26.

That is it.

It may NOT be ideal given the CRIMINALITY of Nigerian Politicians.
But this news article is NOT doing a good job of passing the CORRECT info.
Thanks for this explanation. I was wondering why they'll be collecting 7.5% of the amount transferred.

In that treaty, do you know that Ife and other kingdoms also signed separately.

I have attached the towns he signed for in my earlier comment.

Ife's signature below at the same time the Alafin signed for the Yoruba towns (Oyo Atiba, Awe, Akinmarin, Ilora, Iseyin, Papa, Tede. and Sabe.)
Thanks for this valuable document.
Culture › Re: Respect The Olubadan Stool Or Face Consequences - Ibadan Stakeholders To Alaafin by delpee(f): 10:20am On Jan 13
Okexchange:
They do. They sign the treaty on behalf of us all and they also own the Yoruba identity. Wether it’s the present or not. Little can be done about that now.
A published gazette limits them to those towns. Oyo Ile was far away from today's location. It was further up North. That's why in reality, Jebba is a Yoruba town with a Yoruba Oba.

Oyo Ile fell into ruins. This current location is said to have been given to them to settle on by Ogbomosho people with the support of Ibadan. Ekitis, Ondos, Ijebus, Egbas, Ijeshas, Ilajes etc are unique sub groups who came together to form present day Yorubaland. Most of them were never subjugated under Oyo or they freed themselves through wars. Ibadan warriors are more appreciated historically.

Oba Owoade really needs to calm down and work with the other Obas for peace and progress across the SW. The truth is that we all trace ourselves back to Ile Ife one way or the other. The unnecessary beef with the Ooni and others is therefore ridiculous. Every true Yoruba can trace his/her roots.

Late Alaafin Adeyemi made peace with everyone and was duly respected.

Oyo does not own Yorubaland. The Yorubaland in question is not the present day Yorubaland.

The documented Yorubaland he owns are: Towns of Oyo Atiba, Awe, Akinmarin, Ilora, Iseyin, Papa, Tede. and Sabe. Most of those towns are also no longer in existence.
Akinmorin, Ilora, Iseyin, Tede and Awe are still in existence. Sabe is in Benin Republic now.

Tinubu and his lagos boys should have a field day as far as this Malami case is concerned but the tables will definitely turn. We expect everyone to maintain the same energy when that happens and it will be soon.
Everyone that has looted our resources while the masses live in penury deserves to be investigated and tried if found culpable, irrespective of status. Every politician should understand this. The more looters are dealt with, the better. We really need a reorientation across board. How thieves became celebrities with confidence still baffles me. Maybe because I grew up in a saner era. 🤷‍♀️
