I wish we could have special tribunals for kidnappers, armed robbers and other terrorists. Their cases usually involve murder. The quicker their cases are dealt with and justice effected, the better for society. Heartless fools! |
Do they fight in Jesus name? More like a tribal war to me. |
Their culture, their choice! However, I think we should all begin to lay more emphasis on the building blocks of marriage instead of concentrating expenses on the wedding to please society. Some couple's struggle through the wedding process only to have financial issues after. |
tiger28:I'm so glad that GCI is being restored to greatness with the effort of the alumni. A very good school back then and our good neighbours. We had a lot to do together. I attended Queen's School. |
There's no basis of comparison really. Fela was more than a musician and an entertainer. He could play instruments and was always with a live band. No computer generated music. He was an activist who spoke truth to power with his music (even in the military era) and fought many battles on the side of the masses. It was also a family heritage for him. |
Violence in relationships shouldn't be tolerated. Most men who are violent exhibit the tendency right from courtship but some women overlook it for various reasons. Its always better to be safe than sorry. It's best to leave and live. |
They look okay and durable for garden areas and entertainment centres. Nice concept. |
To think that we have Nigerian doctors in John Hopkins where the baby was to be moved to. Also a Professor in the paediatric field. It's not about Nigerian doctors lacking skill, it's the carelessness of some that results in bad outcomes which tarnishes everyone's image. So so sad. |
frog12:Same Nigerian doctors are well appreciated abroad. Maybe our best hands have relocated. Duchess could have been better truly. May God comfort Chimamanda and family. |
Hopefully we won't end up with an Oke Ode (Kwara) situation in this place. One wonders if the arms are not meant for the people's protection against the terrorists. |
It's best to buy LG products from the registered dealers like Fouani. Otherwise, it's a risk. I still feel that it makes more sense to build our own brands instead of counterfeiting. Polystar for instance has cheaper electronics for lower income people. Slowly and steadily, they'll step up to greater heights. Those stamping other brand's logos on their low quality products will continue to cheat but one day, they'll pay for their crime. |
Ignorance is a major problem in our nation. Simple logic is that the more money you make, the more tax you pay. By design, most small businesses will have little or no tax to pay. People just like to make life difficult for each other while blaming government for everything. |
Forceful conversion is bad. Nothing spiritual about it so the mind remains the same while pretence follows. Worse is the issue of marrying an under aged child without her parents knowledge and approval. |
SisterAnn:Really? It has been confirmed that Wasiu is not a true Prince. Secondly, Ijebu people will never nominate a person who isn't well educated to become Awujale. Of course, he can have his day in court. BTW, the news is speculative. The family has not publicised any name yet. |
Nice one! He should kindly add that the graduation ceremonies should not be made compulsory for everyone. Some parents just can't afford it after sweating hard to pay fees and to provide other basic amenities for the child. |
jrobbins:Yes but if there are verified claims, a request can be made to CBN by the bank. |
princepee:Did they try to process a letter of administration? I know most people try to avoid this step because of the costs involved. They can still do it if they have his records or account details. The Probate registry can request for the actual balance from the banks. |
Lastpharoah33:Letters of Administration if the owner died intestate, is what is required to claim the balances by the family, or appointed administrators. The bank balances are verified by the State, in the course of processing the LOA. A will makes it easier since the balances and beneficiaries will be stated. There's also the Payable on Death option for the living. You can designate a beneficiary to be paid. |
Many weirdos hide under religion to do evil. People need to be watchful. careful and spiritually inclined while making choices of worship centres, Pastors and Alfas. Hoping that the police will carry out a thorough investigation. |
Kobojunkie:I was responding to the poster so I don't need to explain my perspective to a rude person who can't relate reasonably. You don't know me or my husband. You're ranting insults to the wrong person. I'm old and experienced enough to express my view. My husband neither drinks nor gambles by the way. |
Klogo:Ijagbo really? That's close to Offa. Oshogbo is less than an hour away. Getting closer to the SW. |
Their agreement with the bandits fell apart as usual. |
Elliotwaveforec:Very scary situation! I'm now wondering whether the newly recruited forest guards are from the relevant communities or total strangers in their areas of posting. |
@OP I think if you focus on how to get him out of his drinking and gambling habits, resolving other issues will be easier. If you have a good relationship with his parents, you can discuss this with them. He's poor because he gambles and spends unwisely. Too much alcohol can affect your love life. Maybe that's why you're not satisfied. He should focus on his personal development to increase his financial base instead of pulling your own resources down the waste pipe like his. Remember that you have a child to care for and a future to build. |
Wow! Nice one. They made their father proud. God bless them. |
I believe that Kemi was misled. She should apologise for not doing due diligence on NYSC rules. She didn't need the exemption certificate but was probably asked to get it. Obviously, she was given a fake one because it wasn't required but some fraudulent civil servants were making money out of the process of "helping" foreign graduates. She was a Commissioner in Ogun State and did well. She's a woman of integrity and therefore she was a stumbling block in Min of Finance to some vultures in power. They won and looted us dry. Hopefully, they'll all pay for it one way or the other. |
LeoThaGreat:ENRON as a company failed terribly in the US. The project couldn't have worked out well. It wasn't a very good arrangement too based on technical explanations by experienced engineers then. |
Great pity! The woman will get her due reward soon. |
madridguy:According to report online, his bodyguards were compromised. |
It seems that the people are happy with Adeleke most especially civil servants and pensioners whose outstanding salaries from APC era were paid. No more half salary. He has also done a lot in terms of infrastructure according to some residents. |
benardtotti:He was going to Sagamu not Abeokuta. Sagamu isn't far from Lagos and he's been travelling by road for years. Helicopter will be a better choice going forward. Still, that doesn't guarantee safety. |
What is happening in Kogi and Kwara States is most disheartening. It's scary that the authorities appear to be silent on the matter. |
