Sorry, this response is a bit long-winded but I don't blame the french embassy in this instance at all. A number of glaring mistakes occurred here that diligent preparation on your part could have averted. 1) Switzerland is not part of the Schengen countries, so all you could apply for was a transit Schengen visa which is only valid for a maximum of 5 days. You would have to provide proof of visa/accommodation for onward journey as only going to France for a day trip, confirmed return ticket, etc 2)Your travel itinerary entailed travelling to Switzerland, then France, then onwards to Sweden, and since Switzerland is not a Schengen country, you have the option of applying from either Swedish or France Embassy. If I were you, I would have opted to apply from the Swedish embassy firstly because I have travelled there before and secondly because I was going to be staying there longer and thirdly because I would be able to apply for a full Schengen visa rather than a transit visa with a validity of five days only, and fourthly and finally because, according to you, Wale explained to them at the embassy that he was not going to stay in Paris, that his destination is Sweden, and what the rule states that you have to apply for your Schengen visa from the consulate of your main destination. Is it too late to apply to the Swedish embassy or does the days wait imposed on you by the French embassy apply to your application from all Schengen embassies?
With regards the red-highlighted statement, unless the rules have changed recently, he does not have that option. Although both countries are Schengen countries, since France is his first country of visit (amongst the Schengen countries), he has to apply for a schengen visa through the French embassy. I stand corrected tho. |
You may have downloaded a program that corrupted your registry. Do you have the Vista CD? If you do, boot your laptop off the CD and do a repair. Otherwise, you can try to boot up through "safe mode" and do a "restore" to a previous setting that worked in the past. |
Dumb question, but I'd ask anyway. Have you checked to see if you are hooked onto the network? What msg pops up when you try to print? You could reboot your PC and see if you get re-connected. |
jay bee:Go with what you are most comfortable with. Engineering is a very broad profession regardless of the discipline you choose. In the end, it's all about practicing what you enjoy most. I'm an Engineer and work/interact with alot of female Engineers on a daily basis. It's a rewarding profession but you have to work hard to come out tops. Goodluck! |
burnin:I doubt it. . .after medicals, if your results are good, u are probably good to go. The other thing that may hold u is ur tuition. They may have told u to make a payment to the school and get the school to fax the receipt to them. Make sure u do that. Goodluck. BTW, which school/province are you relocating to? What's ur background? |
aydewale:It's all good. If u think my responses are/were rude, my apologies. |
I dont know why u folks are wasting ur time with lawyers. The skilled worker program is for educated people with skills and any educated person should be able to apply with minimal supervision. Every info any lawyer would give you is readily available online FOC. Regardless, if anyone has more than enough money to throw around, I'd charge minimum of $2000 for my time; and sorry, I wont forge any documents. . .and yes, I'm very compassionate. Some lawyers charge way more than that. |
aydewale:Why dont u apply to work at the Canadian consulate to speed up things? ![]() |
aydewale:Today is June 24. . .30 working days havent even expired (when u consider the numerous public holidays inbetween). Be patient. . .the only two answers u can get is YES or NO. If yes, u'd be required to go do medicals. That wud take another month. there's more than enough time to get ur required visa b4 the Fall so relax! |
ferdiii:What do u mean? |
olubunmi80:Make sure you study hard (very hard) for your GMAT because with a good score (way above 550 probably >650) you can earn a good scholarship. However, most of these entrance scholarships have deadlines, so make sure you apply early. Browse the university's website to see what they have. Your fees are due termly. You do not have to pay all 2yrs at once. You can work on campus when you arrive (that's if you get a job, which I wont bet on). However, after 6mths, you are eligible for an open work permit which means you can work anywhere outside the university you get a job. Ottawa is an aight place. There is a Nigerian community there. . .also a few Nigerians in Carleton. BTW, I'd advise you to pick at least 2 or 3 universities (instead of just Carleton). This way, u are not putting all your eggs in one basket. Goodluck. |

olubunmi80:In most cases, you'd need GMAT for an MBA in Canada. Only a few universities waive it for prospective students (perhaps Engineers with some good experience, etc). As for TOEFL, most universities waive it if they know or you insist that you are from en English speaking country and you've studied in English during ur undergrad. I'd advice you to contact the admissions office directly before you make a decision whether or not to write it. However, to be honest, I dont think any university will be accepting applications for Fall admission for international students at this time (It's less than 10 days to July). If they do, the embassy will likely reject your applicaition based on the timing unless a miracle occurs. You best or rather safe bet is to look for a good uni that accepts for January and book to write your GMAT asap. |
