The most important thing with gaming is the Grahics card. Make sure you get something that has dedicated graphics memory. |
yomex4ever:I have to agree with you. 45working days is quite a stretch. I'd be more inclined to visit the embassy at this point (again) and perhaps send them emails with a file number (if you have one). |
igbogolo:Really? Some of y'all think you have a solution to every problem. . .! |
@Aydewale & Igbowolo: Playing the devil's advocate, let's assume there are 200 applications, and it takes 4hrs (not 4 days like Igbowolo's company took them) to verify an application. This means in an 8hr day, they can only verify 2 applications. 200 applications (which is not far-fetched) will obviously take them 100 WORKING days. Assume your application was no. 160, that means you have to wait for 80working days. If you applied to Igbowolo's company, u'd probably have to wait 640 working days (that's more than 2yrs) to get employed. Guys, relax. . ! |

igbogolo:I think you miss the point; the application process is VERY VERY VERY straightforward; so why will they (the Canadian Embassy) be biased towards a 3rd party that is using the process to earn a living? Does it make sense to u? It's not as if there's an exclusive info that is only privy to the "agents". It's the same information you read on the Canadian immigration websites, same forms, same documents, etc that they'd use. So unless they interpret the same info differently from the way you interpret it, how can the outcome be any different? This is where the "clogged up brain" phrase comes into play. Let me put it this way; the Canadian immigration info is true. They cud care less if you went through Yaradua's agency. If you or your agent fail to submit an application that meets their requirements, you are wasting your time. The upside to using a GOOD agent is that they'd help you organize and "pre-screen" your application before it is submitted for a fee (obviously); A good agent is one that has read and fully understands the application process and knows what the consul is looking for in an application; however, there's no guarantee your application will be approved. Dont let any agent deceive you that they have an "insider" working in the embassy, blah blah blah. There are so many fraudulent "agents" in Nigeria that do not even know A from B; they promise you heaven and earth and smile to the bank at the end of the day. If you go thru some old threads in this forum today, you'd realise that there are a few "agents" on this site, just as confused as you are, asking same questions you will ask. Sometimes, you may even be more knowledgeable than they are but you end up paying them for nothing. My 2 kobo. |
igbogolo:I'm not here to defend the Canadian embassy; apart from the fact that they may be under-staffed with respect to the number of applications they receive, over the years, Nigerians have made it difficult for Nigerians by submitting fake documents. A good %tage of applications they receive are supported with fraudulent documents, so genuine applicants tend to suffer long wait times because of (un)necessary scrutiny. Once upon a time, it was the Canadian embassy in Accra that processed all applications in West Africa. On a good day, majority applicants in the embassy were Nigerians, however you know your fate the very day you go in to submit your applicationeither you are asked to go do medicals or you are denied. Regardless, they rejected bank drafts from Nigerian banks; guess why? After a few years, they required Nigerian students to get the WAEC office to send the WAEC results directly from their office. Anyway, we make things difficult for ourselves. Travelling around the world today with a Nigerian passport is an unnecessary hustle; you could be embarassed by mere clerks in airports trying to ensure the Visas on your passport are genuine. So let's not blame anyone for our woes but ourselves. True, Africans are most times subject to ridicule and neglected, thanks to our leaders, but Nigeria is very unique case study. Now that the embassy has moved back to Lagos, I doubt the consulate in Accra suffer such long waits. I guess u folks just have to be patient. . .! |
igbogolo:Apply by urself. You dont need any rep. Unless your brain is clogged up, the application form/process is very straight forward. |

aksamadak:I dont know where you are getting your info from but just like my prevous post, Canadian embassies all around the world accept USD or local currency (which will be cedis in your case). http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/accra/immig-fees-en.asp |

aksamadak:Which Canadian Embassy are you talking about? As far as I know, most Canadian embassies accept US funds or local funds. |

aydewale:This is a forum and I doubt your requests/threads is pissing anyone up. I understand your anxiety but my response was to make u aware that this is a forum. . .instead of opening a thread or posting same question every other day, you are better off going to the Embassy to see for yourself. Since you said you've been there twice and they've told you your application is being processed, then Relax. . .Remember 60days doesnt translate to 60working days (after you take out the wkends, Naija and Canadian public holidays). Also, it's quite obvious they are backlogged. . .this is probably peak time for them since there are relatively more applications as a result of the new Fall session. My advice is that if towards the end of July you havent heard from them, then call them, email them and visit them to enquire about your status. You havent been asked to do your medicals yet and it take 3wks minimum for the results to get back to the Embassy, that's is that hospital in Yaba doesnt give you headache. . .so if you happen to get them on the phone, remind them. Regardless, at this stage, I guess "No news is still Good news". BTW, it might be worthwhile to visit the hospital in Yaba (I believe it's called Marien hospital, or something like that; used to be run by a Greek lady . . .dunno if she's still there) to enquire if you need to make a booking to do the medicals. If u do, the smart thing is to book it right away(perhaps for the 3rd or 4th wk in July). . .so that when/if the papers come, you wont have to wait. Goodluck! |
Ay, you've been asking same questions repeatedly. The simple answer is "Go to the Embassy and enquire about your application". I doubt there's any consul amongst us that can give you specifics about your application. |
Talent has no accent. . .if u are good at what u do, your work and talent will speak for u! |
