ahnie:Felt like I was listening to an audio being fast-forwarded. ![]() |
He did not DEFEND them.....are you this bereft of simple logic. He was talking about addictions to things outside of God and he's talking about Christians. You people are just looking for sensational news |
kokoA:For a country suffering from unemployment at around 33%, it's a shame that is what Dangote could come up with. Did they start the refinery last year? We just keep deceiving ourselves in Nigeria. The struggle is between the poor, victimised class and the political and economic elites that keep exploiting the people. As much as I would blame Dangote and his model, it will be insincere to exonerate the Nigerian government. It's just sad we don't have true leaders. |
Depriest2020:This is nonsense. Please stop it....just stop it. |
OluchiDelly:I don't know why they get on edge whenever a Christian minister speaks. He has his audience and he posted an opinion. You either agree or not but if it pricks your conscience, check yourself. Nothing wrong with watching football or any show (as long as it doesn't involve nudity). However, whatever activity or show we prioritise more than God is idolatry, it is wrong to prioritise anything than God. C'est fini! |
obaidan:Even if it's his father's mount zion movies you're addicted to and it takes the place of God in your heart, you're an idolater. The message he's passing is that nothing you do should take God's place in our hearts. People just like unnecessary controversy and twisting of words to suit their narratives and increase the stubbornness. |
Depriest2020:Yeah....very correct. This age is predictable to anyone who understands the bible |
sageer1706:No be the state where dem dey born person for religion? |
saphiere:Does relationship have nothing to do with the will and agreement between a couple again? Is transport fare the determinant of a relationship? If she can't provide for her own transportation fare and she has to ask, what does that make her? A dignified individual? Let men give that kind of money from their own will. That gives a woman self-respect and dignity in the relationship too. |
Anambra1stPikin:The Ondo defender and you need some re-education. What all of Nigeria need now us human capital development. Away with all these flyover nonsense when people keep languishing in poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and other indices of bad government. |
FreeStuffsNG:Including coys like abokifx? Rather than admit the instability of governmenr further perpetuated by your masters, you're just trying to sound moral. |
BoldBrainz:The Bible says "the way of peace, they know not" How then can they allow you to have peace? Christians are meant to be persecuted since Jesus said so already. And no matter how calm and collected they are, some people will still persecute them. The same way some religions are fundamentally built on violence, some others spread through persecution. Christianity spreads because of persecution. |
tatatar:Mischievous individuals like you don't deserve response but lest you think you're clever (which you're not), you should reconstruct the argument there in the light of realities. Gbọ, which group burned a college student for saying that religious stuffs shouldn't be posted? Which group has always been threatening fire snd brimstone over their jurisdiction? Does that mean that people of other groups are necessarily "obidients"? You see why your cleverness is deformed? |
victooman:Are you a friend of Jesus or the religion that purportedly has a relationship with Jesus? Jesus didn't avenge people's misuse of religions, rather He prayed that God should forgive them. That simple ideology is why Christianity has withstood tonnes of afflictions and persecution. You don't fight for Jesus, you preach Jesus and you exercise his love towards others. |
talented321:That's why I want people to begin to see that religions by themselves are not the problem, there is something about our mentality as a people that needs to be corrected. Else, religions will lose their adherents and we will still have the same problems. Look at all sorts of evil that people (sometimes members of a family) do to one another because of greed. Is there any religion on earth that support greed. Even scientism and athiesm doesn't support greed. Religions like tribalism, racism etc are just tools. If we know how to use them well, we prosper as a people. If not, we keep finding excuses for our stagnation. |
talented321:You people don't have a good grasp of the logic behind this thing but I feel narratives are always sweet if it's acceptable by a significant number od online people. Are Nigerians as religious as the Indians? Why are Indians prospering and Nigeria is suffering? If you understand the dynamics of Africans, powers and religions, maybe you will change your stand. Those religions alone don't determine what happen to us, rather we are the one determining what happens to the religions. Or else, why do the religions say one thing and people are doing another? Yet, we blame the religions. Again, what about the traditional religions or you haven't observed that the ritualistic aspect of traditional religion (especially money ritual) is what people keep alive? We as a people need to check ourselves. Religions don't unilaterally determines our fate. We determine as fate as a people. |
Penguin2:Unfortunately, seems na you dey du...lemme not finish it. Olódó means pesin wey dey sell mortal and not dumb person. It's not everything you catch cruise with. |
Kukutente23:Leave thag guy alone please. If you follow his logic, you would realise he's a lowkey supporter of the barbaric act committed against Deborah. He's just using a little grammar, sounding liberal to colour the narrative. Everyone knows those who kill other because they feel you're hurting their religion. He's just being mischievous adding pancakes to his narrative. Such people don't deserve the kind of explanation you're giving them because it's a fight against an ideology deep-rooted in violence. |
The same cliches we are already used to "Diversify the economy" "Reposition the economy" Productivity level is low, investment among SMEs are not consciously supported. Yet, they want to "diversify" the economy |
Reno didn't mention that parents in those countries have multiple ways to raise the money either now or in the future. Similarly, Reno and his minions are also not telling us about countries where education up to PhD level is free and yet, they have the best system in the world. All of these assertions are half-truths. As an educator, I know that education is really expensive. But for a country that still a high number of uneducated citizens, couples with unemplyment even for PHD holders, tell me why education should look enticing to tue poor again. If the poor and struggling don't find education enticing, tell me how human capital development of Nigeria can be raised. Tell me how Nigerians can be trained to become "normal" citizens like we have in most countries. It is tricky with a sprinkle of foolishness for anyone to vehemently support the thieving political class now except you're benefiting from their largesse. |
Ventura1:Let every school be charging 200k per year then both public and private with the current average income in the country and let's see what happens after that. ![]() Shebi you live in luxury that put you far away from those people? I will only pray that you won't be a victim of armed robbery, kidnapping or violence. I sincerely say that prayer for you because that is what happens when education dies down. |
TheBillyonaire:As one of the 'fools' (I'm so sorry to say this but you used it yourself), did you make any prediction sinilar to this. If you did, where is the evidence? |
FreeStuffsNG:Do you ever read out some of these responses to yourself and see how they sound? Between the masses and the government, who are those living a welfarist lifestyle? It's a shame that this is what you defend online. We've read the stories of many countries rising. This is not how they rose but we're in Nigeria and as for me and my family, we will be fine. I just pity those really struggling to live now especially when they're folks like you saying "well done, ride on" to politicians. And btw, I'm not from SE before you start tagging me names. |
Just turn down the offer and keep applying or else, search for assistanship positions that can offer tuition fee waiver and still pay stipends. If it's PHD, it's better when you're funded. I don't think it wise to go for PhD with borrowed money or without funding. The stress isn't worth it. |
I just can't. Even if I'm the richest on earth and I have people managing my businesses without the need to be living my house everyday, I will still find something to keep me busy. How do stay-at-home men manage it? |
greatiyk4u:Isn't it easy to spot individuals who are all out to find out whether their town or cities made a list or not, which is a way they feel inferior or superior. The list talks about consumer power and they're whinning that Nnewi and Onitsha doesn't make it up. Who dare compare populations of Lagos, Kano, Abuja, PH and Ibadan with that of Nnewi or Onitsha? On another note, if my town doesn't make the list, does it make me inferior to others? We just like whinning and celebrating mediocrity. Is it very difficult to find out the most populated cities in Nigeria? |
Seriously? Isn't it comical and ironic at the same time? When citizens are gainfully employed, the government takes the praise but when there is massive unemplyment, we blame them for relying too much on white collar job and expects the government to provide everything for them even when the government has failed to provide and sustain an environment that drives and rewards creativity and hardwork. Any time a government official tells you to look elsewhere for job, tell him/her to resign his/her position and look elsewhere for job. More than any other agents in the state, it's the government's responsibility to ensure that citizens are well employed either through providing direct employement or promoting agencies, institutions, privates organisations who do that or ensuring that no creativity or entrepreneural effort of the citizens get wasted and maintaining an equitable society that supprts this. Has the Nigerian government done any of this? Then they should spend their time thinking, planning and strategizing instead of talking and blaming people for the woes the government could have prevented. If our soiety is equitable and supportive enough, and people refuse to work, then they can say what they're saying now. |
Wow... things humans experience I don't have an offer to give out but I think I have something to say and I hope it makes sense to you. Let's say this your aunt treats you and your daughter kindly, provides all that you need etc, would you want to live all your life depending on her? Your answer is probably "no". This is why your mission should not be to quiet your aunt but to achieve a normal life for yourself and your daughter. When you think of achieving a better standard of living and fulfilling your purpose, I think you'd have more time to focus and escape from people who might want to exploit you. May the right opportunity find you. |
I believe in fairness and equity no matter the tribe or gender. In Yorubaland, women aren't drummers but if you have a daughter who likes to drum, nobody can stop her because of her gender. On the other hand, a system where men are neglected because we want more women participation is inequitable. In fact, it's better for women to be idle than for males (even young boys) to stay idle. But we're going the way of the West who have fully invested in their males. Nevertheless, everyone deserves quality education no matter their gender and they deserve to be respected and considered for any position they seek as long as they're qualified and not because they're males or females. |
You see pictures like these and you're reminded of the achievables when a state has a united sense of purpose. Isreal's determination in the midst of enemies, American dream that's open to any creative individual, the Japanese cultural and work ethic and the innovative mind of the South-East Asia. In Nigeria, what would be used to qualify us? Tribalism of Nigerians or Corruption of Nigerians or Delusion of grandeur of Nigerians or the hypocritical, over-religiousity of Nigerians? I don't know which one sounds better. It's not that we're kuku not innovative or creative in Nigeria, we'll innovate and create solutions to every problem when we want to but we're more concerned with surpassing one another in terms of material wealth and we'll go to any length to achieve that. Politicians keep stealing and they get supported by those who hope to steal like them. Some who don't have access to steal from political positions devise all means to steal and defraud private individuals of their wealth and all we do is to show off. Why won't Nigeria be as messed-up as this? |
Kusheer:Shall I say thunder should fire Nigerians who have been docile all these years despite the massive looting going on? |
