RomanceRe: Ask A Nigerian Man To Describe A Good Woman, He Will End Up Defining A Slave... by Demayour: 6:41pm On Jul 10, 2020
VVIP:
But it is not right, this nonsense patriarchy really makes some men to feel like God as they were being born a man

I have heard many men saying women have to be beaten so as they will be feared and respected.

Women lives also matter and i will say this notion should be eradicated as they should be companions not slaves
When an idea is being abused, we think it's the idea that is problematic when it's the people. As for me, I can't tolerate a docile woman who has to be told everything. A woman who doesn't have any idea to contribute to issues affecting the home. A woman who can't stand on my behalf when I'm not there. To me, that's the definition of a slave. This is why anyday anytime, I support what the bible says:

"Husbands love your wife like Christ love the church that he gave himself for it"
"Wives submit yourselves to your husbands..."

Nobody gives himself up for a slave. When a man loves his wife deeply, he will treat her with a high level of respect. When a woman trusts and submits to a husband who love her indeed, they're in for a long-term bliss. Both parties must ensure a balance.

My brief stay with Igbo friends and Enugu State especially taught me that the drive to excel in business is highest in Anambrarians first before any other state. My interactions with about 20 different ethnic groups in Nigeria have also informed me that all the tribes have certain characteristics that make them stand out. If only we make our country liveable by making our individual cities, towns, villages and states liveable. Nigeria is blessed with a blend of uniquely intelligent tribes.

Right step in the right direction. The only legacy of the poor that can take them out of poverty is education. Politicalpreneur are at work in Edo and Ondo states for primaries, campaign and election, those one does not need social distancing. Covid 19 is not as lethal as it been made to look, it is not a death sentence, it is like malaria. If 35000 are infected and only less than 700 died haba, will 700 not died within six months out of population of 220 million
The worst of FG's argument is that most of the expensive private schools are now into online teaching for all classes. What happens to the poor who attend government's schools or substandard private school? Some children now spend all their time in arabic classes now while the real education is inaccessible.

I don't have any word to use to qualify this person but it's sad to give up your account to someone you're not legally married to. I wonder why you didn't seek NL's consent before giving him your details but now that he's doing the 'expected', you want us to intervene.

Child Abuse didn't start today.
It is her life, just pray she live it well, but if she chooses to live it bad. Am off the stage. I now learn how to mind my fucking business. Taking paracetamol on someone's headache is a sin.
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is a sin" James 4:17

A quicker excuse for people to keep doing things that will ruin our society is when they use the language "it is my life and I can choose what I what". That choice is subjective.

Later they'll tell you Nigeria is practising America's style. Nigerian leaders only invented the style that will be most favourable to massage their lust for materials and power.

You just displayed your ignorance about higher education.
Universities don't teach coding beyond the introductory level
neither are they designed to teach you how to lose bolts and spanners.

If you want to learn to code, read books, or join a Bootcamp.
You also have the option of technical schools designed to teach manual skills.

It is a lack of proper orientation and degree bastardization that makes most people
who have no business in the university to waste years of their life.
The only reason I can blame our universities is the use of outdated methods which are mainly due to the unavailability of modern pieces of equipment. People actually expect the school to download everything into their heads but it doesn't work that way. If it's just that, Sergey Brin and Larey Page shouldn't have developed Google themselves, a professor should have done that. Mark Zuckerberg shouldn't have dropped out of Harvard.

A lot is wrong with this country in terms of the provision of a stimulating environment where people in diverse classes can thrive but all the same, personal development is still germane. No institution will do that, it's the responsibility of the students.

How can that work, in a country so dividedhuh

The North hardly betray each other
This is where our education needs to be put into use. The North understands their weakness as a region but the Southerners don't believe they have individual weaknesses as a group. Instead, they keep blaming the 'other'.

Have you observed that the North rarely make list such as thishuh

No insult intended just an observation

Yet they hold the highest positions in Nigeria

No wonder Nigeria is not moving forward

We have sacrificed professionalism on the altar of nepotism!

It's a shame!!!
Then the South should up their game.

The North is redundant because they have power at their beck and call.

When power is flowing over you, you'd worry less where education etc are concerned since you already call the shots.

Intelligent discussion still dey nairaland nah, just depends on the topics at hand.. that being said, the bolded to me sound emotional...as in you making it to look we should seek everyone's opinion before we can take action.. well maybe after a century , that can work... but I tell you sir, if Nigeria is going to work, especially in achieving what I suggested in my post u quoted then we need a strict but focus leader..

Nigeria is a nation inside a state..
Emotional it may sound but Americans are not forced or pressured to say "God bless America". They say it because they're proud of being Americans. When Nigerians say "God bless Nigeria", they say it as a form of hopefulness and not like Americans who truly trust their government. I personally don't trust the government. How much can a state develop if there's no trust between the government and the state?

The last line though, I still think Nigeria is a state consisting of nations such as the Igbo nation, the Hausa-Fulani nation, the Yoruba nation and many other nations.

bro no dey use Nigeria and the bolded in the same sentence abeg... oyo state alone is doing better than the 3 combine both in finance and standard of life..

That's being said...

The solution to Nigeria problem is simple
1. There should be political reformation.. there should be 500% salary reduction for every political office holders
2. There should be economy diversification.. government should concentrate on agriculture and technology
3. Education should be given needed attention.. atleast 15 percent of gdp should be spent on education..
4. Taxation.. in america, two things are the surest ..a. Death b. Tax..every Nigerian and institution should be mandated to pay tax.. including church, mosque etc..
5. Government should encourage BOT( BUILT, OPERATE AND TRANSFER) in every project( infrastructures , social amenities etc.).. instead of embarking on project they know they wont complete due to lack of fund.. instead they should partner with private companies and strike a deal on BOT..
6. Local products should be encouraged no matter how inferior it is.. sooner or later.. we go perfect.. there should be minimal importation..

6. Whistleblowing should be encouraged.. atleast putting bounty on every criminal exposure..

Lastly , jobless people and older people should be paid stipend monthly .. and retirement age should be pegged at 60..
Without even assessing whether your theories are achievable or not, you and the other person just took me back to my first time on Nairaland when intelligent discussions were the order of the day. That being said, building a nation is not easy and Nigerians don't presently have a nation, we only have a state. I don't think we can ever make Nigerian a nation we can only build nations within it and then come together as a state (regionalism).

However, this will take conscientiousness and a high level of sincerity between the people and the leaders. The people won't change but a long term leadership seriousness will turn an average Nigeria into an ideal Nigerian. How do we get to this level? Those who profit from the current structure are not going to give up soon and a revolution will only send us back to 1966.

The way forward ought to be a bloodless, intercessory revolution. But how about those who enjoy the benefits of Quota System and feudalism?

The country alone, is enough to trigger suicide, nobody really seems to care about suicide not even a dedicated hotline or center for that.
It is when those who are hopeful about living get satisfied to some extent that the society will remember the suicidal. Imagine 3m youths applying for 400k Npower job. Most of them are graduates and sadly, the younger generation and those in thier youthful age keep increasing as unemployment keep increasing. It takes those with strong will or some hope to keep striving. I really feel for him.

WHAT AN IRONY OF LIFE?

Do you know that the only tree a monkey cannot climb is the banana tree. Paradoxically, banana is what monkey likes the most. This means that anytime banana is found in the hand of a monkey, it's most likely a gift. Hence the phrase "Who dash monkey banana?" was coined.

In the journey of life there are things you like but can never achieve unless you are given by God.

Therefore, it is not of him that willeth or of him that runneth but of God that showeth Mercy. May His mercy continue to abide in, and with you forever. Amen.

The rich in Nigeria keep on living their life as if everything is okay in this country, when is time for medical treatment they fly out, when is time to send their children to school they fly out, when it's time for shopping they fly out, neglecting the problems we are facing back home, to them there is nothing wrong with Nigeria as long as they and their families are okay. Forgetting that one day, this country could have a civil war or even go into a serious and fatal religious crises, which will be devastating to both the rich and the poor. That's why till tomorrow, I still commend Falz and 2face for speaking out against the wrong doings in Nigeria.
But Falz himself had his law degree from the UK nau. While I don't support the way the Nigerian elites act like nothing is happening in the country, it is quite important that they educate their children on what the masses experience daily in the country. There are some people who schooled throughout in Nigeria but if you see them behave outside, you'd think Nigeria is another UAE where money can be spent anyhow.

That's the more reason you should leave my comments on Falz and Falz himself alone. It is when it comes to disciplining ourselves as humans that people will remember "democracy". Is that what democracy means? All of us want freedom in the world from trouble, oppression and so on, yet we run away from every responsibility that comes with freedom. Then we keep on deceiving ourselves "I can do what I like, it is my opinion etc." Anyway, IT IS MY OPINION.

Please, listen to MoralI nstruction and enjoy this rare kind of music no other Nigerian artist is bold enough to make.
I tell you, the average Nigerian is not different from the politicians he curses, the pastors he mocks and everyone in high places where he throw stones of disdain.
May this Falz guy influence Nigeria for good many more years to come. When he was throwing stones at the politicians, we clapped him. Now he's talking about immorality among the commoners they're calling for his head.

If I am understanding you right, the young man's idea to use the stick and the plastic bag together could not have been God's Answer to your prayer? If that is what you are saying, why are you saying it? Why is that not a way that God could have answered you?
If you understand the op's view very well, he was being competitive. "it should have been me". God doesn't operate in competition. As a matter of fact, competition is not allowed in God's kingdom. It is every man with his gift.
God can decide to use another person as the answer to your prayer. It doesn't mean you were wrong to be praying. But, it is very important that we separate the time for prayer and the time for acting. One should not substitute the other. They're both important.
