From where exactly did Christianity spread from? Just curious.

Mentioning gods to you will prove nothing even if I don't know, I can easily Google it up and post here.

You tends to misunderstand my post. I am a Christian and since Christianity was brought to Nigeria by Europeans, would it then be a big deal seeing it preached over there? That is what I mean.

I come in Peace!
If you had mentioned them, I'd have asked more questions, not necessarily to prove anything.

If Europe playing a key role in the origin of Christianity is anything to come by, perhaps we should talk about the entire conception of the modern world including its academic orientation, technological inclination and philosophical standpoint.

I agree it shouldn't be a big deal to see Christianity being preached in Europe but don't forget what our people use to think, that everyone in Europe or Western country is anti-Christian or irreligious. So they use that to shame Nigerian Christians. The post is an opportunity to shut some of them up.

I just like understanding what informs people's positions. I don't fight either.

I see nothing special or new in this.

Same gospel and religions that was brought and preached to Africans by the whites?

Same religions that has white roots?

Tell me this when our African religions are being preached over there. Then it will be news.
Christianity doesn't have white roots, it spread to their country the same way it spread to ours. Ditto for some of the so called "African religions ".

Religion may be a part of an identity but religion doesn't necessarily equate an identity. Identity is far deeper than adhering to one religion. You can be practicing African religion without being an African or living by the cultural tenets of Africa.

Lastly, how much of African religions do you know, just for curiosity purposes? If you're Yoruba, tell me names of five gods and how they're practiced. If you're Igbo, tell me the name of at least 3 family deities and their symbols.

This time around, I support the Nigerian government. Let the movie makers think of other content away from rituals etc. Movies are a representation of a people's culture and presenting rituals in Nollywood is saying that our culture only value money, even at the expense of people's lives.

tommy589:
huh
"When Chief Awolowo turned 72 on March 6, 1981, he spoke about the security troubles we face today. That was forty-two years ago. He told the Nigerian Tribune in a birthday interview that he suspected that the enemy was already planting seeds of insecurity in the North-East. He said because of the ethno-geographic peculiarity of that area, it was possible for the enemy to “establish posts in every part of the place and put in up to 10,000 people who are well trained.” He warned that “if they launch against us, we may have about half a million soldiers but soldiers can only fight against pitched soldiers on the other side and not against guerrillas who are scattered all over the place, burning houses, killing this, killing that, raping women” everywhere. The sage then called for definite, proactive steps to prevent the worst from entering Nigeria through that corridor. His call went unheeded. Today, thousands have perished, millions displaced and more millions ruined. Children of those who ignored his words are today in government paying billions to bandits and dispatching prayer warriors to North Africa in search of medicine to fight murderous insurgents"

https://tribuneonlineng.com/2023-remembering-obafemi-awolowo/
It's not an overstatement to say that Chief Awo was the closest we get to having statesmen or philosopher-king in power. Nigeria isn't really blessed with leaders who have original ideas. At best, we have a few who have plans. But we need those who have great ideas how nations should operate.

This is is the major difference between Nigeria and the UAE or say Nigeria and Singapore.

How come Nigerians are very United when they are outside Nigeria. But when they are in Nigeria they are very divided?
Where did you find this? Sadly, Nigerians are some of the least united immigrants. You just have to see the Asians for example.

As usual, no sidewalks for pedestrians.

After all roads are only meant for cars.

If you have no car you can walk on the sand or inside the open gutter, or try your luck by walking on the asphalt along with trucks, cars and lorries.

PRIMITIVE PEOPLE WITH LOW IQ.
It's a Nigerian thing. It's also one of the reasons I've not been impressed by road works of Gov. Seyi Makinde recently.

How do we get our streets organised when there are not pedestrian walks and there are open drainage everywhere. Yes, it costs money to build these things but we'll be spending much more when roads don't last because they are not organised and drainage aren't we'll constructed.

America is directly and indirectly dependent on China, we are almost at their mercy here in Nigeria.
Its a deep political warfare game. Only the enlighten understand. I have given many warnings yet no one seem interested.
We are in difficult times. Ask yourself, when was the last time you heard of the West granting us loan?
It's about perspectives and not enlightenment because not one factor is responsible for whatever is playing out.

Ask yourself, if you're a diplomat of a western country and you're representing your home country in Nigeria, would you recommend your country to be giving Nigeria loans going by our political outcomes in the past one and half decade?

Of course, I'm not disputing the fact that western nations are trouble-mongering hypocrites who only care about their own systems.

Expect more American owned companies to shut down. Alot is going on while you sheeps stay asleep.
Us governement wants to establish their military base here in Nigeria precisely in the north but the Nigerian government is against it hence the recent moves.
The recent northern state governors meeting in the US is a critical move against nigeria.
This are some of the hardest times for Nigeria government and the citizens are frustrated.
Open your eyes to see what's going on.
I would have said you were right had it been that Americans do not have any business enterprise in China.

No man knows or owns the secret to make money. To be a graduate is good but all these graduate's should stopped seeing themselves as the rightful heir to make money. Everyone is bound to make money regardless of their educational status. You graduates should stop wishing brokness for this guy, na school una go, no be money making factory una attend!!! Everyone can be rich regardless of his/her educational status. The founder of Disney is also poorly educated and can be classified as an illiterate. Education is an opportunity, so lets stop wishing this guy bad!!! Some graduates got same opportunity like him and still can't keep up. Know this and know peace
Did you drop out of school and got bullied by your graduate friends? That's what your comment sounds like.

This is what the state government can do in 1 day for crying out loud.
In fact, some staff wouldn't want it to work because a lot of them own the private diagnostic centres or they get commission when they refer people there. So, it's beyond the MRI, it's also about the greed and unpatriotic acts of many Nigerians.

Poland, Czech, Slovakia and other Eastern European countries are still Europe, Aba skyline doesn’t look far behind some of the cities in those places. If Alex Ottih continues to be intentional and focus more on environment, Aba will be up there in no distant future. Most Igbo cities don’t really need much facelift to look presentable, unlike Yoruba towns that will require to be demolished and rebuilt afresh for them to appear decent😆😆.
No one is talking about "Yoruba towns" here. I know you're seeing Aba from your egotistical perspective and it doesn't matter, every cities and towns have their good sides and bad sides. By the way, skyline doesn't equate development.

Aba is no longer a Nigerian City.

Everything Aba is looking like Europe now. grin
Aba is really moving forward, and that in a very fast manner too but if you've not been to Europe, you should check out pictures from there. Europe is a world on its own and the centre of modern civilization. It won't be that easy to compare any Nigerian city with any city in the best planned continent in the world (despite their wahala).

No mind them. And if the parent then have like 3 kids, imagine the cost per year?

They are being foolish bringing such outrageous kindergarten to Nigeria. Their target is corrupt Nigerians not legitimate income earners because legitimate millionaire and billionaire business owners I know will never enrol their kids into such school.

Is it Innoson Motors owner?

Abi someone like Peter Obi?

Maybe all these drug kingpins, political looters, corrupt civil servants, bank executives and high level wire wire fraudsters disguising as entertainment celebrities and content creators.

An experienced medical Doctor or Surgeon working in UK can't even afford it. in fact, UK Prime Minister's official salary cannot afford him to send his 2 or 3 kids to this school.

Criminals, they want to start exploiting Nigerians in Nigeria as they have shut their door against Nigerians migrating to their country through tertiary education route. They now want to create alternative exploitation means, heartless Britons angry
I like how confident you were with your comment but perhaps you're unaware of some things. Firstly, the school is not made to be attended by a lot of students (I may be wrong) but schools of this sort are usually made for children of the wealthy, powerful few. These are not children that'll grow up to be looking for jobs.

You're right, someone like Peter Obi or Innoson may not send their children there but for every Peter Obi, there are more than 10 less richer people that will send their children their even if they have to stress themselves a little before coughing out the money. I bet you don't know how much money people spend on "keeping up with the Jonses" especially Nigeria.

In fact, some people will withdraw their children from schools that collect lesser amount to send their children to this school so that they can boast. These people know what they're doing. They know who they're targeting.

A University entrance exam shouldn't determine the rest of someone's future. Many people don't have a degree and are yet successful in life.

Of course, Nigeria is on onse side of the extremes, South Korea is on the opposite side of the extremes.

Stupid ungrateful boys....they should go and apologize to their OPM benefactor if they still have any form of remorse in them. Their story is similar to the parable of the prodigal son. But I hope they've learnt their lessons.
The prodigal son had a wealthy background and he misbehaved. These ones have a poor background, they got opportunity to escape poverty and they squandered it.

I don't think their type of individuals can get sincerely remorseful as the prodigal son.

You want to do a low-skilled job with a high level of respect, where on earth is that possible?

What angers me about this is that those criminals make things hard for sincere people that have the readiness to work. You went to their country, signed up for the job, obtained DBS, did so many trainings, what excuse do you have after accepting all the conditions?

In short, Nigeria doesn't have money and all our politicians are not productive to increase Nigeria's wealth.
