FamilyRe: Confessions Of A Misogynist( A Man Who Hates Women) by deols(f): 8:44pm On Dec 27, 2013
Providing the polygamy example and relating it to visiting Fathers make it more applicable to a Nigerian.

Most Nigerians grew up in the same home with their Fathers. Run away farthers are uncommon. It is not a Nigerian thing. A Nigerian Father could be around with his presence not felt.

The likelihood of blaming the mother seems unNigerian either. In fact, many Nigrian men, who even become like their fathers in relation to their wives, are good to their mothers, respect them and are grateful for their mother's love and support through their lives.

*******

I think a Nigerian would even set out to be different from his father, at first, detesting everything the father represents only to find the society, including the women he meets, helping him become what he detests. They call him less of a man if he shows sensitive qualities, the women throw themselves at him and slave for him even without him asking, they sell their self respect for the little money he has to offer, etc

This is not even in all cases, some decide to be different and achieve it.

There is a picture in my head of someone I saw in a dream and whom I have not met before then.

I don't attach any importance to the image. It would be interesting however to meet the person.

I remembered this after Fulaman's post. So, you can ditch 'science' and believe us ;-)

Science never has all the answers. We scientists learn to use words like, 'usually' and many researches are 'inconclusive'.

Are the struggles of these African Americans the same as that of Nigerians?

I doubt it.
FamilyRe: Is It appropriate To Buy Gifts For Your Future Parent Inlaws by deols(f): 7:30am On Dec 27, 2013
I won't buy either. It is your first time.

They should be the ones giving you gifts.

After the first time, when they have accepted you, You can start giving gifts. Even at that time, I'd rather the siblings than the parents.

After marriage, they become your parents and is when it becomes a 'duty'

The 10% brain use is the most ridiculous. Each part of the brain has its functions and none is dormant, for real.
IslamRe: LAILA ILLA ALLAH by deols(f): 5:59am On Dec 27, 2013
The banned Mujah1deen wrote in CORRECT English. This one is a bad immitator.

Plus no Muslim will write Lailaha Illa Allah as Laila illa Allah like he did.

Looks like a trouble maker. I shall be watching in 3D grin

lanrexlan: The prophet(pbuh) said:''The (good) dreams of a faithful believer are a part of the forty-six parts of Prophethood. He said:Nothing is left of the Prophethood except al-Mubashshirat.They (the Sahabah) asked:What is al-Mubashshirat? He replied:The true dreams (that convey glad tidings)''.

He thought the dream conveys glad tidings to him decided to tell it to the person he saw in order to make it a reality.
How could she believe? Maybe she's eager for marriage, trying to find some sense on how she agreed.
Eiyahhhh..

sorry for him.

Marriage requires critical analysis of the other person. A dream can never be enough.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 6:16pm On Dec 26, 2013
Fulaman198: I don't necessarily agree with that statement. I see people in my dreams that I have never seen before. Perhaps I am misinterpreting your statement.
I believe you.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 5:30pm On Dec 26, 2013
It is very unlikely that you would see someone you never met in your dreams.

I hope he did not lie to her. It is gullible(no offence) to even believe such a thing.

lanrexlan: Salam alaikum,please I have a question.
I have a cousin and my cousin wife's younger brother met a sister. He told this sister that he has already saw her in his dream dressed as a bride.
After a week they met, they did engagement[This may sound funny, but I swear it's true] and they got engaged. After a while(not up to 3months),they got married and not up to two months of their marriage, the wife performed some horrible things to his husband[Very bad] and the marriage is now on the brink, about to break.
My question is:
For brothers, can you marry a sister you saw in your dream?
For sisters,if a brother approach you and claim he saw you in his dream and you're his wife, will you marry him?

In between,Congrats to Ustadh Tbaba May Allah(swt) make the child a pious one.Waiting for yours sir.
I don't believe in things like this. A dream is only a dream. We are not to interpret them beyond what the prophet said. A bad one is from satan, say audhubillah. The good one, tell it only to whom you love.

He did not say that dreams come true.

There are guidelines to marriage, including istikhara. This should be followed rather than basing judgements on dreams.

May Allah help them sha. How could she have been sure he said the truth about the dream sef?
FamilyRe: Would You Allow Your Child Join The Military Rather Than Go To University? by deols(f): 4:03pm On Dec 26, 2013
I think so.

My brother wanted to go to NMS and we allowed him. He did not meet the required age though. He was too young and by the time he could, he'd lost interest.

The only thing you should not allow is him going as a recruit. That is like big suffer suffer. He can go to NDA or You can encourage him to finish his university education and then go for short service. That will put him on a better ranking.

I wouldn't mind the short service sef..That is so much respect and the money is quite good plus You get the good feel of serving your Nation.

People who have great sex divorce.

How do we even know that the story is true? She had doubts even before she got married. She is just an unsmart human being. She married someone she knew for three years but could not be attracted to enough to even want the sex on their wedding night?

I saw the thread on Linda Ikeji and wondered why many people were so mean to tpia. Some may not even have encountered her, but relying on other people's info on her to judge her.

Ishilove said it all actually. I knew tpia to be quite annoying at first but got to understand her. She doesn't always mean to be as people think. She could be all mean and later, be so nice with her comments.

She is also way smarter than the average NLer.

People need to cut her some slack jare. She is actually not entirely wrong with her list. I found one or two to agree with grin
