frosbel: Actually you have just told a lie with the intention of tarnishing my image.

I only quoted the bible where it said , the FOOL says in his heart that there is no GOD.

I never called or referred to any Muslim as a FOOL.

Please get your facts right.
you want me to start digging your posts huh

for the records, I do not lie! what would I want to gain from such. If u never called anyone a fool, it sure is a honest mistake. Put that in mind

Billyonaire: The vanity of materialism is what drives people into suicides, and Islam teaches that materialism is vane. And for the teaching that each 5 minutes is a bonus. This is pro-suicide in all sincerity. The events 24hrs after we die are merely the remnants of mind activities after brain-dead. It is very predictable what happens then, you dont need religion to tell you about the bright lights and the sounds and sights of limbo on pre-projection stage. If you call that a spiritual insight from Islam, I will advise you read beyond the Koran. Dogma is anti-growth, read more.
because you once died, you know what he means? he who knows not but thinks he knows. Stop trying to tell Muslims what Islam is. thank you.

OLASODE2K: i am a moslem. the truth is that suicide, whatever under guise, is one of the most serious sins God and islam is really against. hence, u can never see a real and true moslem strapping himself up with suicide vest to commit suicide and kill others. however, we moslems are less afraid of dying because islam is a non materialistic religion unlike christianity and judaism. even islam makes us to understand and see every next 5mins as bonus time on earth. aside from these, most moslems know implicitly of wat they events and experiences that they would experience less than 24hrs after death. but most christians have no real idea. then would u blame them if they are too lukewarm to die for anything? no. when even most pastors fully concentrate on how to guide and educate their flocks on how to achieve material success while relegating to the backburners how to make heavens unlike the moslem clerics.

Billyonaire: Religion has no clue what happens when we die. The fear of the unknown is what makes the uninitiated afraid. But for few of us who have visited existence beyond the veil while still in this physical body, We conquer all, and we fear nothing.
like religion is humanhuh

and you'r sure of ur place in the sight of God? no wonder you are very abusive towards Muslims. Your God doesnt frown at that I suppose?

the initiations that make you become proud and unreasonably abusive.

you must be feeling fly until it dawns on you

Yahoo1: ...no one knows whats really going on......has the person you are reffering to died before?....you muslims or which ever religion u are into who commit suicide or kill bc you are sure that it will be rewarded when you die?...where are you headed? And what do you belive?
always ready to put the blame on Muslims. Did you pause to think at all?

frosbel: I always knew you were biased towards me but this is just plain silly.

Who did I call a fool ?

I said anyone who goes looking for death is a FOOL , or do you mean that Jihad warriors who want to die in fighting are wise ?
the word fool has become very synonymous with you. Pardon my error. I am used to you using that term while referring to people you don't agree with. It is still very typical of you grin

Yahoo1: no you arent a christian,if you are,you would already know that;In every religion, there must be hypocrites. And then you even go on to say muslims are better off! Huh? Are you kidding me? So because there are suicide bombers in muslims, that makes suicide right? Thank God u said 'suicide'.....are you telling me muslims dont go to hospital when they are sick? Not everybody is willing to die for their faith;thats one of the reasons they are called hypocrites!...Suicide is a sin,i bet you dont know that,do you? Stop asking questions you already know the answer.
No need getting so emotional. I also can feel the feeble nature of the average Christian. you can even tell it here on nairaland. There is this feeling of fear and the 'We cant be losing this argument' nature. it calls for a lot of questioning. This guy is simply airing his thoughts. it doesnt necessarily make him a hypocrite

frosbel: Run it's course means until such a time as when God decides your time is up or when you destroy yourself though drugs , alcohol or any other related vice.

In other words our life span is determined by how we live our lives here on earth in combination with natural and uncertain circumstances.

However, no one goes looking for death, only a FOOL will think otherwise.
Anyone who doesnt think like you is a fool. very typical of the nonsinners.
Christianity Etc › Re: If Heaven Is Real Why Are Christians Afraid To Die?? by deols(f): 12:01pm On Aug 20, 2012
F00028: actually the muslims have a better approach to this. God informs them (and they believe): they're on this plane, for a specific purpose, this life is temporary, death is certain, no one knows when etc.
so the faithful try to fulfil that purpose with whatever time they have and not waste it worrying about death .
You are so right. The life of a Muslim, including eating, drinking and walking is to attain that other purpose- the hereafter.

that is why you hear things as Islam is a way of life. A life leading you into eternal blisssss

Megabyts: This is one of the contradictions in the bible. Every bieng dies at thier appointed time.some during birth, som die as todler, some at adolescent and some at old age. there is nothing like 'dying before ones time'
that in bold is exactly the truth.
Christianity Etc › Re: If Heaven Is Real Why Are Christians Afraid To Die?? by deols(f): 11:54am On Aug 20, 2012
F00028: how utterly silly your response.

if you believe in "run its course" why would you regard death as a "rude interruption"? whenever death approaches then that life has run its course whether it's your mother or child.

how can you want to live out your life span when no one can determine long that life span is?
I was wondering what the determinants of lifespan are too?

I have heard christians believe it is 70 years and any death before then is by the devil. That is like giving the attributes of God to it(devil) and cant be true.
Christianity Etc › Re: If Heaven Is Real Why Are Christians Afraid To Die?? by deols(f): 11:50am On Aug 20, 2012
ds700: Getting oneself killed carelessly or committing suicide is also a sin that will denial one from getting to heaven.
CHRISTIANS ARE NOT ACTUALLY AFRAID TO DIE PER SE BUT WON'T FOSTER THEIR DEATHS.... OKAYhuh

Christianity Etc › Re: If Heaven Is Real Why Are Christians Afraid To Die?? by deols(f): 11:17am On Aug 20, 2012
pro01: That's because most "Christians" are motivated only by earthly rewards - wealth, success, good health, good spuse, etc. That's the whole basis for their belief in God and prayers to Him. The concept of Heaven is not as attractive to them as an earthly life filled with comforts and other rewards. This is mostly because, at the back of their minds - somewhere deep in their subconsciousness, they are not really sure whether Heaven exists or not.
there's nothing wrong with seeking the world while you are still there. it becomes a problem when you seek it at the expense of the hereafter. if only pastors would preach more of the things that take you to heaven rather than hammering on 'heavens on earth'?
Christianity Etc › Re: If Heaven Is Real Why Are Christians Afraid To Die?? by deols(f): 11:08am On Aug 20, 2012
frosbel: Yes !

I have kids I train at school , wife who needs my support and extended family members to assist , but most importantly perishing souls to reach with the gospel.

Also , since the dead are indeed dead and nothing happens till judgement day , why would I or my Christian brethren not want to live out our life span and achieve the aforementioned.

I want to live to 100 if God permits, however when the time comes sobeit , I fear not one iota.

It is sinners that should be worried and fearful of death , seeing that they have no hope and will be damned without salvation in Christ Jesus.
SO u tag others sinners while u'r not?

Sweetnecta: Id sayed Mubaracka. Takaballah wa minkun.

If a man is interested in a woman, he should tell her right away and request that she directs him to the Mahram so that he begins the process of formal "process leading to marriage/the nikah".

The messenger [sa] told a Muhajjirin [ra] who was interested in an ansar woman [ra] to go and look at her. Why? because the ansar woman is different from the muhajjirin woman; in many forms, it could be in manners and customs, looks and shape common in ethnic variables.

In the today's marriageable pool of people, the opportunity of seeing and meeting may just one time. If you are looking for a mahram that is not around the bend, what you will come up with is not that woman for a wife. And since good action in this case will be on based on good intention, there is nothing stopping you from seeing your potential wife in the mall of america and ask her "Salaamu al-laykum sis, my name is xyz. give me the details of your mahram because you are my wife in the waiting". That gives her to see who are future husband. if she is game, she will give you the details you have asked her.

if you snooze you lose because the brother who is sharp may just be in the next store and she is gone upon the right man making his intention known.

And our sister should be Khadijah [ra] too. You see what you want, go for it, even as him if he is married and direct him to your mahram, without trying to front unnecessarily.

Islam is constant and the element of constancy is observed as haraam is eliminated. But man should be bold and woman should be eager to give the indication of yea or nea.
dont I just like you? wink cheesy

tbaba1234: If He can call you by phone, He can call your maharam by phone... A man who wants to marry you has to speak to your maharam to make known his intention... That is the way it goes...

After the go-ahead is given, then we know, It is for real.... The fact that the maharam is involved is for your own good...

The phone does not save you from haram, wrong things can happen on the phone as well... I do not recommend it at all but If you are going to engage in that, make sure it is for the purpose of getting married and the man has already contacted your maharam... Do not make it indefinite.... Make up your mind on the person as soon as you can...
First, what I was saying is about speaking in the presence of a mahram. He doesnt hear what u are saying abi but there just to make sure nothing intimate happens. I assume you can achieve that by being on phone.

I dont want anyone to get me wrong on this. I agree the best way to it is via the mahram but certain things are to be put into consideration. We live in a different time nd certain circumstances wouldnt allow things happen the old way. for example, a brother meets a sister at school. he likes her. how do u think he'd have access to her mahram if he never spoke with her. in fact the only reason she'd give him her mahram's contact is if she's considering him. Now, he convincing her into allowing him meet with her mahram would have taken some time and some form of communication involved. This is the period am talking about.

I hope you have suggestions on how to go about that.

Eid Mubarak..taqabalallahu minna wa minkum

Wizeboy: No, it actually depend on the parties involves in such relationship. The brother I talked about in my last post is actually a well-learned Ustaz and even one of the top gun in Ansar deen Society of Nigeria now (though that does not make him SAINT) but I can confidently tell you that it happens. Alhamdulilahi the brother later told me when they even got married that he met his wife as a virgin too (likewise the brother a virgin also).

I should have mention his name here (but due to his post in Ansar deen now, I will not be able to do that); we have very close and really learn a lot from him.
that he is ustaz doesnt mean anything o. Dont vouch for anybody. just saying
Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 11:05am On Aug 18, 2012
After reading this, I took a break. If you are right, I'll forever stop debating this issue.
I had in mind that the meaning of the word lover or girlfriend as used in the Qur'an could have other meanings. The Qur'an is after all not always interpreted literally. So, I went into ibn Kathir and below is the interpretation of Surah 5:5

وَلاَ مُتَّخِذِي أَخْدَانٍ (nor taking them as girl-friends (or lovers),
meaning those who have mistresses and girlfriends who commit illegal sexual intercourse with them, as we mentioned in the explanation of Surah An-Nisa'.
tbaba1234: bros, See below:

You are either married or you are not. In Surah maidah, Allah says (rough translation):

Today all good things have been made lawful for you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful for you as your food is lawful for them. So are chaste, believing, women as well as chaste women of the people who were given the Scripture before you, as long as you have given them their bride-gifts and married them, not taking them as lovers or secret mistresses. The deeds of anyone who rejects faith will come to nothing, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. (Surah 5:5)

Also in Surah Nisa

If any of you does not have the means to marry a believing free woman, then marry a believing slave– God knows best [the depth of] your faith: you are [all] part of the same family – so marry them with their people’s consent and their proper bride-gifts. [Make them] married women, not adulteresses or lovers..... (Surah 4:25)
A relationship outside the confines of marriage is essentially haram. If you meet someone and there is a mutual attraction. You do it the right way. He informs your family. You do not get too cozy by exchanging text messages and calls. You do it the right way. If he is serious, he 'd contact your guardian.

Before making a decision to marry this person, you guys can have conversations in the presence of your mahram (guardian), not locked up in a room. The guardian doesn't have to sit on the same table with you; basically your conversation has to be in an open area. This is a very important point and you should take advantage by finding out as much as you can about your potential spouse. Ask the tough questions and see how you both get along in conversations. Is he comfortable with your aspirations? What does he look for in a wife?

You can meet multiple times if needed but all in the presence of a guardian ; After this, you make a decision whether you want him as a husband, he also decides whether he wants you as a wife. When there is an agreement, you start making plans for marriage

"Do not prevent them from marrying their husbands when they agree between themselves in a lawful manner." [Noble Quran 2:232]

The Prophet said, "Whenever a man is alone with a woman the Devil makes a third."

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari, Book 25, Number 5403, Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As

Marriage is difficult, there is no guarantee it will work; but if you have two people that believe in and love Allah.. Then no matter what happens you know that the rights of the other will not be violated.
what happens when you live far away from a mahram? In fact, the telephone is just as good as having a mahram. with it you can send text messages without even having to see each other. you can talk without being together. the presence of the mahram is to keep you from engaging in illicit acts and same goes for speaking on phone.
Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 10:42am On Aug 18, 2012
Wizeboy: I believe the issue of Guardian can only comes up if both of you are in the same Society or live in the same community; that can never happen in a situation where you both met outside like in occasion, inside bus or elsewhere.

I believe once both parties intention (the guy and the girl) is pure and clear, BF/GF issue might not be an Haram par se, its about controlling yourself by not having intimacy at all before you get married. I know a guy that have about 4 years relationship with his girlfriend WITHOUT intimacy before marriage (I dont believe this is an Haram).

I dont think I can just see a MUSLIM Sister (and been a MUSLIM sister) I will just jump to marry such person without knowing if we are compatible with each other and moreso, knowing if her character and ways will worth taking with me forever. And this take between ONE to TWO YEARS (though we can never know all about ourselves before marriage BUT we should at least know half of what I will be living with for the rest of my life).

Maa Salam
