tbaba1234: A child from adultery from what i understand is named after the mother not the father... An adulterous father can not take responsibility towards the product of adultery unless He marries the woman...

It is the responsibility of her father and her brothers to take care of her and her child if she is not married,

If she is married, her husband would take responsibility of the child.... The adulterer has no right on the child.
Is it a sin 2 do otherwise? If d Father takes responsibility, would he be punished for it?
Health › Re: Sleeping Paralysis: Share Your Experience by deols(f):
It must be hard being a witch.

You leave your comfy bed to sleep ontop other pple, preventing them from waking up early as if you have somfn to gain from it.

Then they blame you for all of their life problems even if u know nothing about it.

They wouldnt read for their exams knowing you could be blamed

They would even put their own hands in fire just because you are unlucky to be a relative of theirs.

And when it is time for them to pray, they'll mention your name more than of their beloved ones.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the witch crown.

So,What exactly is God telling us?

Is this one of the signs of the last hour?

I ask these questions because, you know, when you say things you have no proof for, you are sinning against God. In the bid to call towards God,be careful of what you say.

And I am not saying this doesnt have the hand of God in it. As 'not a leaf falls but it is written in a clear record'.(qur'an).

Many people must have heard of that group of people who think they know even when they know not. They are said to be the worst of humans.

I see many nairaland christians in that category. You will know them by such statements as, 'you Muslims worship the moon god'. Like seriously, why would I deny my precious moon god if I truly worship him.

and another of them was saying something about inferiority complex. How about something about boosting self esteems? not necessarily yours But of others.

Once again, nice one @Snubbish. Many more like this shall we continue to see and nothing more of boko haram and their likes.

Islam › Re: Baby Born With Rosary In Ogun State by deols(f): 5:24pm On Sep 02, 2012
zayhal: This story is fake as far as I'm concerned. The story says the mid wife heard something(the rosary) drop before baby came out and then the baby held on to the rosary and did not allow anyone take it from his hand. Did the baby pick the rosary up from the birth pan after he was delivered? Or someone helped him pick it? Inconsistencies everywhere. One needs to be smart to tell lies.

Islam does not need such fake stories to stand.
say that again please. Since the Qur'an baby got that much attention and with plenty money, it is not surprising another story came up.

Abeg, Muslims shouldn't give these people the attention they want.

In fact, a police investigation should be done to ascertain who is behind this rumor mongering.
Islam › Re: Baby Born With Rosary In Ogun State by deols(f): 5:20pm On Sep 02, 2012
I just can never believe this ni. lai lai.

am afraid the next baby will come with a kettle or prayer mat.

and for GOd's sake, the rosary doesn't even have a spiritual relevance. People started to use it long after the time of the prophet(S.A.W). how can it then pass as a sign or miracle from Allah?

many miracles are in the Qur'an already- Enough to keep anyone's faith.

Agiliti: if you let the tribalists run amuck, you might as well let the explicit. just create an 18+ section. I understand the tribal bashing generates multiple pages which equals more money in your pocket, but that deep hatred the bigots here generate everyday is worse than any x-rated link as far as the image of NL is concerned

as for the garri epidemic, you guys should have just let the phase pass instead of making a mountain out of a mole hill. it was already starting to get stale before the banning started

Travel › Re: Pictures Of Oshogbo, Osun State by deols(f): 7:27pm On Sep 01, 2012
Nairastake: THE GOOD
Yea. Osogbo is a peaceful city, no doubt.
The improvement in the power sector had little or no impact here cuz there has always been upto 18hrs a day power supply. Infact, people dnt shout UP NEPA! here unlike other places I've been to. They're use to short period light out.
The roads are good even inside remote villages.
The transportation fare here is very cheap. Imagine bike will take u same place a bus will take u wit 50bucks for the same price. If its in Enugu, for same distance, bus will be 70/80bucks while the bike price won't be less than 150bucks
THE BAD AND THE UGLY
If you want to make real cash as a graduate, 4get Osogbo unless u go for bank job.
In housing, My village has more beautiful structures than Osogbo. Yes! We have mud houses here in the capital city with loads of ancient buildings.
Even in the capital city, most of'em dnt understand English, even teachers. Imagine a yoruba corper in my school was asked to teach the students English language with yoruba. Too bad.
The road needs expansion. Esp Kola balogun, Igbono, Oja oba, Isare aro, Station road and their likes.
When people talk abt hotel in Osogbo it amazes me. Go to Enugu state or Imo state then u will knw what it means with a state having big and numerous hotels.
Some peopke are talkin abt ACN, what has Aregbe done? Is it the O'yes that he pays 10k every mnth for sweeping the roads, teaching, and other things? He killed the Education sector with his no money to school order. No PTA, No WAEC fees, no extra moral lessons. Thus the teachers leaves teaching for o'yes and corpers. The students are so dumb! Imagine 38 students failed out of 85, with 22 promoted on trial.
Osogbo or Osun is really far beyound development, imagine almighty DIAMOND & GTBANK has only but one one branch in gbongan road here in Osogbo.
Though peaceful, but am always prayin while in bank cuz bank robbery is a norm here with sporadic shooting.
I can go on and on but let me stop here.
Is the bold an ACN thing? I heard Ajimobi was doing the same in Ibadan. They find reasons(maybe genuine) to sack existing and therefore more experienced teachers and then replace them with the O'yes people. the effect of that is baffling.

Islam › Re: Different Types Of Covering That Muslim Women Use by deols(f): 12:30pm On Aug 31, 2012
bukatyne: i go wit mactunji on this. the hijab covers up a woman's beauty. u must really be a liberal muslim/person talking of body piercings and multiple ear piercings.
Maclatunji is not a Muslim woman, I am.SO, believe it when I say it. And the above are only examples and have nothing to do with being liberal. If you have the chance to do things that enhance your beauty or that you just love and you find out they don't contradict religious principles, you'd do them.

THe purpose of highlighting them is to show that adornments are not necessarily for show off and as a Muslim woman, u'd most probably have them where not just anybody can see them. your brothers, nephews, father, husbands and father-in-law can.

if u do al this stuffs, who do you do them for? u'll agree wit me that it is natural for humans to dress up better when goin out than @ home.
The world and our thoughts as women have gone beyond what men think of you/what you look like(oh, maybe that is to some extent). But many Muslim women would do all of these things either because they love them or want to be admired(by fellow women and family) or to keep their men(for the married)

And about the hijab covering beauty, u'd need some sort of exposure with the Muslim culture to know what I mean. Fine, u could look less beautiful with the hijab(and that doesnt make it the essence of the hijab) or you could look more beautiful with it(I have seen many girls wear scarves only because there's a way it covers some flaws and their beauty enhanced). If you haven't seen this later category, u may not understand what I mean.

are u telling me that when in your room, u make up, wear earrings and al that, wear sexy clothes and then when you are goin out you just cover up? then who are you dressing up for.? i appreciate your detailed explanation
When I am in my home, am in the most comfortable state. no hijab and i wear whatever I want. I could decide to make up.My choice. When I am married, looking good in my home becomes compulsory irrespective of how I look when I go out. I want to keep my man, and how better to do that undecided. and I guess he'd be doing stuffs to keep me too cheesy The mistake pple make is about dressing better outside than inside. It is better to dress for yourself, and because you deserve it than for other people's praise.

You would'nt understand until you see Muslim women. I have just one wrist watch but I love me ear rings even though only my close associates see them. It's all about me and am in total control of my body. That is what Islam gives me under the hijab smiley smiley smiley

EyesWideOpen: ^^^ Mr. Mac, that's a most wrong answer to her questions pls!
and he must feel smart by deflecting from a very simple question.

his other usual line is, I am too busy to reply you now.

maclatunji: Awwwwww, this post is so cute and out of point. I won't quote the relevant portions of the Qur'an and hadith for the following reasons:

1. You already know them.

2. You have already given them your own unique interpretation.

3. You will not back-down from your position even with overwhelming evidence against you.

4. You would thereby destroy the thread with the foregoing.

However, if you insist we can create another thread for that.
am I surprised at ur reply? No. and truly I wouldn't back down because unlike you, I only talk about things I can defend and have knowledge of. maybe you should start doing that too.
Islam › Re: Different Types Of Covering That Muslim Women Use by deols(f): 10:50am On Aug 31, 2012
maclatunji: Yes now, I know you all too well. Promise you will not fight over it and we can talk. However, you should consider the fact that even non-Muslims understand this point without reference to the Qur'an and hadith. It is eermmm quite obvious.
you want to go so simplistic about it. But I assume you know that it is wrong to go about making claims to things without textual inferences from the Qur'an and hadith in Islam. In the absence of that proof, I'd rule your assertion as one of the many misconceptions about Islam and Islamic practices.

allow me add this. About six weeks ago while in Nigeria, a WOman saw me reciting the Qur'an without covering my hair. It was a friday and I was reciting Suratul Kahf. She sarted saying all sorts of things. Not insultive, but reasons why my head was to be covered. note, I was in the comfort of my room, with only women around. I realised she didnt even understand the reason for the hijab. she thought first, I shld be covered because the other women around might think they could do same. that made me feel like, and so what? and then she said the windows were open(for God's sake how does that matter) and that angels passing by my put a curse on my head.

I realised she's been wearing her hijab for the wrongest reasons. I had to take time to explain things to her. My point is, all she said might be obvious reasons to her and many other people. she probably was never asked to provide references to her claim nor did She ever had to. not funny at all, she's the missioner of her local Islamic organization embarassed
Islam › Re: Different Types Of Covering That Muslim Women Use by deols(f): 10:35am On Aug 31, 2012
bukatyne: what is d use of wearing adornments if u ll conceal them? wat is the function of concealin them? does it mean that if a woman uses no adornment, she can go out without an hijab?
So many reasons to wear adornments my dear. You may just love them, and that you should never be denied. You need to see beautiful henna(tattoos) on arms or ears pierced at many places with beautiful ear rings. how about belly buttons. In fact, the clothes you wear that the hijab covers are adornments. Hairstyles too.

that you are not wearing adornments doesn't mean you can't wear the hijab. The most important thing about it is as an obedience to the command by Allah that you should wear it. the other things like the adornment, modesty, etc are secondary. (and these are exactly what I was hoping to talk about when Mr. moderator pointed at derailment. I hope I havent done that already sha #novex
Islam › Re: Different Types Of Covering That Muslim Women Use by deols(f): 10:28am On Aug 31, 2012
maclatunji: The concept of Hijab is not to cover ALL beauty but MOST. I agree, eyes can be beautiful. grin
you still haven't provided the reference to that concept. bring it from the Qur'an or ahadith.
