FG introduces austerity measures ON NOVEMBER 17, 2014

By Emma Ujah, Abuja Bureau Chief ABUJA—The Federal Government, yesterday, introduced some austerity measures and scaled down the crude oil bench mark for the 2015 budget. In a bid to insulate the economy from falling crude oil prices the federal government announced far-reaching policy measures to deal with the crashing crude oil prices, cutting 2015 oil benchmark from $78 to $73 per barrel. Crude oil prices dropped to $77.76 per barrel, some cents below the $78 earlier proposed to the National Assembly as bench mark for the 2015 budget.

The people of Sokoto State have rejected Buhari’s visit with a symbolic washing away of his footsteps from the Sultan’s palace in Sokoto. Upon Buhari’s late condolence message to the Shagari family in Sokoto, the State served him with Faro water, a produce of Atiku’s water industry.

As if that was not enough, upon the killing of 30 people by bandits, Buhari did not utter a word of condolence to the people. Well, the people of Sokoto cannot stop the Sokoto APC from renting crowds for their rallies, but they were able to show their disgust and disappointment to the President as he left the Sultan’s palace. While some washed away the president’s trail, others burnt brooms in protest of the banditry taking place in the region.

The Nigerian people are ready for BETTER.

I can tell you with confidence that most people commenting on nairaland don't have PVC. And few who even have the PVC, some of them wouldn't be able to vote on election day because they are no longer staying where they registered

Defending Buhari not only strips you of sense, but even worse, it strips you of self-esteem, dignity and shame.

If you doubt me, take your time to study the Buhari supporters you know - those of them here on Nairaland and those who occupy the media space (Mad Professor Sagay, Festus Keyamo, Tolu Ogunlesi, etc). All of them. You would find the same pattern of shamelessness, lack of dignity and self esteem, and outright stupidity.

One can blame them for being shameless and lacking dignity and self respect. After all, if they had any of these qualities, they would reject the accursed job of washing the pig called Buhari - in the futile attempt to cleanse it. But you can't clean a pig, because dirt is what defines it.

However, one cannot blame the Buhari defenders for the stupidity they exhibit in the line of duty. It's not that they are naturally stupid. It's just that stupidity is an inevitable by-product of defending the indefensible Buhari.
