Benue youths on rampage, kill 27 Muslims, burn 2 mosques


At least 25 Hausa/Muslims have been killed while two mosques torched in a retaliatory attack in Benue, following the killing of 17 Christian worshipers on Tuesday.

According to a BBC report, the mob barricaded roads, identified Hausa or Muslim commuters and killed them.

The leader of Izala Movement in the state, Sheikh Shuaibu, told the BBC that he counted bodies of 27 Muslims killed by the attackers at the teaching hospital.

Even if other tribes are outside their homeland, majority are still at home. That 14m is probably 60% of eligible SW voters by the way. So what are you saying? The fact is that even if other tribes are in the region, their voting strength is not significant when you consider the region as a whole. There are also Yoruba’s in SS and the North. But when the regions are looked at, it is at the majority impact of votes and how they swing. SW is the most unpredictable zone and you must perform or the vote against you. They are not blindly loyal to a party but to performers. This forces candidates to try to bet against their unpredictability. They could also vote based on interest.

You don’t realize that Atiku would have promised delegates from several zones many things. The shocker Wike and other PDP stalwarts got, where do you think most of those delegates who voted for Atiku came from? Probably NE and SW. so all these promises and calculations have probably been done before his emergence and winning the presidential primary. Gbenga Daniels as campaign manager was not a mistake. I am sure he worked hard on SW delegates who can cut across the SW and North. Wike thought he had the SS and SE votes down for Tambuwal. His mistake was that he neglected other zones and the possible diversity within. You know the SW’ers within PDP we’re not happy for not getting the chairmanship. Another mistake by Wike. If he gave SW chairmanship, the VP slot will no doubt go to SE. The SE PDP members obviously have no strategy or goal. So blame them and not the SW’ers who probably saw a bigger opportunity and negotiated.

For the entire 16 years PDP was in power they had 4 inaugurations and at no time during these inauguration did they look the way of an SE candidate. The blame is solely on PDP and nobody else.

Now the same PDP is about to repeat another inauguration and also sideline those from the SE while fielding a northern candidate who would surely want to run for 2 terms. The blame is solely on PDP.

If they choose to give the VP slot to the SW are we to reject it? Why would we?

Let's assume, the few Igbos in Lag will have gut to troop out to vote for Atiku, you think same will happen in Ogun, Osun, Oyo and the rest? I have voted in different polling units in SW and i have never met any Igbo person on the line. Even in 2015, they could not do anything to help Gej but you think you can do more for Atiku. Moreso, if Igbos makes up to 30% population in SW, then lets agree that other tribes like Hausa, Edo, and the rest make up another 30%, so you mean Yoruba does not make up to 45% of the population in SW? Wonderful.

Why I don't want to dissipate my energy arguing everyday who should be picked the Vice President is that all these fake news emanating from Southwest's Lagos -Ibadan Expressway Media propaganda trying to deceive and coerce Atiku to pick his VP from southwest! However, take the following points from me:

1. Even if Atiku pick his VP from southwest, it will not have any impact on the vote he will get from southwest. The southwest will still vote APC because they plotting to grab power as soon as 2023 instead of voting Atiku and wait a longer period till 2027.

2. If Atiku pick his VP from southwest, he will not get any vote from southeast and South-South! This will be the beginning of his failure.

3. If Atiku pick his VP from southwest, he will not get any financial support from southeast Governors and southsouth Governors. We all know the Southwest does not have any PDP Governor to support him during the election!

4. Southwest at the moment does not have any credible PDP member to be chosen a VP! Is it Fayose or Fani Kayode?

5. Southeast has been the greatest support of PDP even when southwest abandoned the party!

6. Southwest ruled the Country under PDP for 8yrs. So all these mundane talk that PDP marginalised them is arrant nonsense!

7. Virtually all those fabricating and peddling these fake news and calling Atiku to choose his VP from southwest are APC agents attempting to lure Atiku into making the greatest mistake of his political life!

8. Igbos residing in Southwest are monumental (about 30% of people residing in Southwest are Igbos) and will vote massively for Atiku if he choose his VP from southeast.

9. Southeast delegates voted massively for Atiku while southwest delegates voted for Tambuwal in anticipation of the latter making Fayose his VP!

10. Lastly, it is very wicked, selfish, greedy and evil for Southwest to be angling for VP position of PDP! Having ruled under the party in the person of their son Obasanjo; and their son Osinbajo having been VP for 4yrs now! Still they are plotting to take over from Buhari in 2023! Is southwest the only Nigerians in the Southern part of Nigeria? So to them, southeasterners are slaves and does not deserve any political post? This is sheer wickedness in high places!

Do u think only Igbos can win for Agbaje? Most of the Igbo union leaders will even mobilize for the APC self because they have candidates in the party. Those candidates will plead with them to join them so as they can be seen as a force in their domain.

Agbaje is now seen as serious by most neutrals due to his absence in the political scene since the last election. People are not fools u know.

Don't forget that APC apologists are also in Lagos without a membership card o. Most Yoruba people detest the PDP from beginning (this ethnic card u played has been the reason for most of them voting against whoever the Igbos support).
