THE Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given its backing to President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to the military to deal ruthlessly with ballot box snatchers during the coming elections.

The president had disclosed the order at a meeting of the National Caucus of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday, saying that whoever engages in the act will pay with his life.


Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, told State House correspondents at the end of the council meeting presided over by President Buhari in Abuja that the FEC agreed with his position.


When asked if the council supported the order to the military, he said: “Absolutely. I mean if you want to intimidate voters to steal the mandate of the people, you should be able to face the wrath of the law.”

The minister also spoke on measures to lessen the problems of Nigerians who will be travelling back to various places to vote, revealing that the government has authorised the immediate payment of February salary to its workers.

Addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of ENYO Retail and Supply Ltd, Mr Abayomi Awobokun, stated that despite the challenges confronting the sector, his team of investors is ready to expand beyond its present market share of one per cent in near future.

According to him, “there are negative stigmas affecting the downstream sector. Past events have given it a bad name. There is a general distrust between the customers and the marketers. Nigerian economy is also another challenge. Nigerians don’t buy fuel for luxury like driving from Lagos to Akure just for sightseeing. They buy fuel for essentials and not pleasure.

“There is also the challenge of lack of basic infrastructure. Moving of products from the depots to the filling stations is very challenging. But despite all these challenges, there is still room for growth.”

Awobokun reiterated the company’s commitment to Nigeria and outlined its achievements in less than two years of operation in the country.

Merely looking at the video gives me a different perspective to life and loyalty. PMB is someone that do not talk too much, upon all the hate, insult, and negative scrutiny that some people keep heaping on him, the common man still sees something, such that no amount of propaganda can shift their faith.

The poor are part of Nigeria too and that is what people are forgetting, I can say that since the inception of the current democratic period (1999 till date), PMB is the only president that gives the poor people a listening ear and at least reached them directly. N-power, school feeding, conditional cash transfer, trader Moni, market mini, and the likes.

Is he perfect? NO. I will not say he is perfect but at least you see some sincerity in him and that is what endeared people to him and you can see that out of all the candidates contesting for this election, he’s the only one that can get at least 10million votes even without the input of his party APC. I always tell people that the only person holding APC is just Buhari, if Buhari opt out of APC then they will forever be a divided house.

There are a lot of people online that follow the bandwagon effect of the toxic hate news spreading online and the systematic scrutiny that PDP always subject PMB to with the input of their online warriors. But I am confident that the common man In the forgotten corners of Nigeria will sound their own voice on the Election Day.
