ARRIVAL UPDATE!!!! LONG POST MBOK!!

I booked my flight with KLM for 31st of December cos I wan breathe New Air into the New Year.

So on said day, I got to the airport at about 4:30pm and checkin started an hour later.

Docs: LOA, LOE, School Fees Receipt, SOA from my sponsor, Negative COVID-19 test Result, LOI.

Got to the counter and the airline staff asked for my COVID test result, LOA and LOE. Presented and then was cleared to checkin my luggage cos I’d already checked-in online the night before. I was given two copies of a COVID form to fill out.

I went through Nigerian immigration smoothly, got to boarding area and dropped one of the forms before boarding the flight at about 10:30pm.

The flight from Lagos to Amsterdam was 6hrs long, when it was midnight for the new year, the cabin crew popped bottles of Champagne to celebrate with everyone on the flight.

Arrived Amsterdam at about 5am on New Year’s Day, went through flights connections to find my boarding gate for the flight to Montreal. My connecting flight was by 3:20pm so I just chilled around the airport for about 9hrs, the Schipol Airport is fantastic .

Had to take a temperature reading and fill out another COVID declaration form at Gate E1 before being directed to Gate 18 for the flight to Montreal. They checked for LOA, LOE, LOI at boarding area, checked my passport and then I boarded the flight.

The flight from Amsterdam to Montreal was about 7hrs long, we touched down in Montreal at 5pm EST, just before landing the flight crew passed out forms for those who haven’t downloaded the ArriveCAN app.

Two border control officers were at the aircraft door to check our passports and ask a few questions about your purpose to Canada. I went through customs to declare food items and currency, the customs guy simply asked what food items I had brought with me into Canada which I listed, he asked to see my ArriveCAN app receipt, then he gave me two leaflets containing information about the quarantine requirements and penalties, directed me to immigration.

There’s two immigration offices at the airport, I went to Immigration 2, the officer checked my passport and requested for my LOI, gave me a number and then I sat to wait. Few minutes later, she called out and asked to go to the Immigration 1 as my study permit was ready but my work permit wasn’t ready yet.

Got to immigration 1 office, also received a number and waited to be attended to, got to my turn, and I explained to the officer I’d being to the other immigration office and but was directed over to them. She requested for my LOA and LOI, asked what course I was studying and if the course has a CO-OP that requires the work permit, I answered yes.

I sat back down and waited while she did her checks, 5 mins later I had study permit and Co-op work permit stamped and Welcome to Canada.

Quickly ran to get my bags as my name was being called on PA for my next trip down to Ottawa Train Station with the AirFrance Bus. 2hrs trip from Montreal to Ottawa. Got to Ottawa, an official from school was already waiting to take me to my hotel where I’m currently quarantined.

I’m in day three of quarantine, checking in daily on the ArriveCAN App and also taking calls from Govt Health officials and school officials to make sure I’m obeying the quarantine rules and not displaying any symptoms.

Ultimately, I thank God for the whole journey cos it was totally hassle free for me.

Arrived Edmonton, Alberta yesterday. It was majorly hassle-free the entire journey. Now in quarantine.

LAGOS AIRPORT

Checked in online 24 hours to my flight on the 1st of Jan. Apparently, economy class for KLM only allows one check-in luggage plus hand luggage and an accessory. Paid 42k for another check-in luggage. I had my 24 hours old covid test result with me, that seemed to be the most important thing. They didn’t check any other thing for me, not even admission letter. Like I was flowing through immigration check points showing just the covid lab test result, passport and one negative covid declaration other form I filled that’s required by Netherlands for transit flyers. Took off for the 6 hour flight to Amsterdam. Apart from occasional turbulence, it was smooth.

SCHIPHOL AIRPORT

Landed in Amsterdam for a 6 hour layover. Here, after normal stop and brief search, they just asked for admission letter, passport and boarding pass. Boarded for the 9 hour flight to Calgary.

CALGARY AIRPORT

Landed here and went through same immigration hassle. You fill a deceleration questionnaire on one touch screen machine to state purpose of visit and mention if you flying with animal agric products and all. I flew with stock fish, crayfish and all and I clicked YES to say I was flying with animal and plant products. The immigration officer asked what I was flying with, mentioned it to him and he said those ones are ok, that I should have clicked NO. He also asked for LOI, ArriveCAN receipt on my phone and admission letter. It’s better one declare and you are corrected and not declare and you are held down. Thanked him for the insight and was directed to another border officer to get my study permit. Took about 10 minutes to get the study permit after showing them just my admission letter and LOI. I proceeded to board for the 25 minutes flight to Edmonton.

EDMONTON AIRPORT

Just showed my passport here and that was all. Got my luggage and was out of the airport. My check-in luggages and hand luggage were open or searched. They were the same way from Lagos to Edmonton. But my bag crossed over my arm was opened and searched in Amsterdam and Calgary.

Note:

Please ask question when in doubt. While walking through a transit airport and the airport in Canada, you can sometimes miss your way and ultimately miss your flight cos time is of the essence. They are friendly and you will be directed. Please remember to have your face mask on at all times, except when eating, you can be fined for negligence.

All through my journey, I only had to present LOI, ArriveCAN, passport and admission letter, that’s all. I wasn’t even asked for proof of funds or enrollment letter. This will not be the case for everyone as diff airports have diff checks.

So as life don do me strong thing for naija(lost every thing I had) I come decide dec 21 2019 when my immediate elder brother de go London say e be like I need to ja o.

My brother used an agent and I met the guy at the airport that day. We exchanged contact and the rest was history.
So, feb 2020, I contacted him and we started my processing. He did everything but along the line, when I was itching to know details, I was told I can get info on Nairaland which was how I came here.

Fast forward to 20th of November, the ups dispatch rider called that he was at my gate to deliver my passport and that was how preparations started o

With all the informations I gathered here and outside I book Qatar airline for the 24th of Dec. I got to the airport early around 11am but had to wait for my FAAN friend to take me and my brother in cos me no get shi shi to give any airport officials. He came late and we finally entered the airport around 2pm. Normal as I don late the queue don long reach jericho. I sha secured a spot(naija way) and went ahead to weigh my luggage. Ghen ghen! Luggage excess like say na exile I de go. Na so we start to see what and what I can remove o but at the end of the day, I figured I needed everything so I decided to pay for the extra 23kg which was N106k. It was a process to pay and by the time I was done, they were already saying boarding will start in the next hour. Well, I paid, went inline again and it finally got to my turn and the officials had to do the normal confirmation. So, instead of waiting I come go change naira to 500 dollars cos I didn’t carry anything before but i figured i might need cash when I land even though I had paid for everything for my quarantine. I got back and the official passed me, I went ahead to get my boarding pass... dude was just shouting up and down because i carried back pack and another hand luggage which was more than 9kg. Naim i tell d guy say, so after i paid 106k for extra luggage u still want me to tip u? Nahhhh e no go happen and if I miss my flight, e go know say I be real edo girl. He sha started laughing from no where and said ok anything na, naim i tip the guy 1k then told him to give me window seat which he did. Na so we start to run to immigrations to clear us before we go board o. Got there, dropped my filled yellow card and they only asked me for the arrive can app and I was cleared. I was among the last 10 – 20 pple that entered the plane cos the luggage matter took my whole time #phew

I got in, plane was so niceeeeee , settled down and in like 30 minutes we were up in the sky
Plane was nice nice, food de roll even though na cold bland rubbish, I chop am like dat de visit toilet to offload and get ready for another upload. Few hours into the flight I noticed pple were holding their phones, I asked and was told there was WiFi and I was like Ogbara Jesus!!!! I quickly brought out my phone and that was how I connected o and was chatting with my family(Omg! It was so nice). I saw a movie and later slept. 10hrs later we were in doha and as we were coming down we were boarding the next flight to montreal. So, in all we spent about an hour in doha and off we go again. Plane was nice nice and it was same thing with the chopping, shitting, wifi, movies, sleeping. Even though this was the longest flight of my life, I didn’t feel it much cos of the services on the plane. Na my family just de shout say u never reach? I was chilling and enjoying myself.

We finally got to montreal(beautiful airport) and we went straight to declaration and from there to the CBSA stand where I was asked what I came for, my LOA and arrive can app. The officer then asked me to refill my info on the app cos I wasn’t exempted. Apparently, I made a mistake while filling it before. Anyways, I refilled and refilled until he took me to another officer, explained to her and was told I need to fill the form manually. I did and was directed to immigrations where I was asked only for my passport, why i was in canada, LOA and LOE. She then asked how much I am carrying and i told her 500 dollars and my atm cards. I gave her the letters asked for and in few seconds, she got up, printed, stamped my student permit and welcomed me to Canada.

Oh my connecting flight to calgary was cancelled. I got to know this when I went to pay for my extra luggage in naija. I was angry but mehnnn na make I just comot I de reason cos I know when I get into canada I will sort myself. So when I got in, I went to the air canada stand to confirm my flight which was the next morning cos I no trust naija. Well, it was confirmed and the official were so angry on my behalf that Qatar should provide me with where to stay for the night atleast. For my mind make una no worry oooo I don enter be say I don enter. I told them I will go to Qatar to ask but Omo! Before I waka the airport finish 10pm don nack na so I come back to air canada stand area, saw 2 pple chilling and I just jeje took myself there, arrange and lie down, chatting and video calling my family. I was able to stay the night like that till the next morning and at about 5am I went to check in for my flight which was for 7am. We started boarding at about 15mins to 7. This time, I was among the first 5 pple to enter the plane this was where it dawned on me that I was in another land cos I was the only black person on that plane. I said wow for like 2 min straight cos it really hit me o. Anyways, plane jet off and I just slept cos I was tired as Bleep! I woke up a little bit relaxed, watched a movie that didn’t finish and after 5hrs we were in calgary! At about 10:15am on the 26th of Dec. Omg! It was so white and beautiful. I got out, got my kaya, called my school cab and in like 1min the cab guy was in front. The cold was much o but because of all the gist I don hear, I was well dressed o. Na ogbonge jacket i wear so I no feel the cold much. The car was heated so it was a smooth ride. The Indian rider was nice and was gisting me all through the ride. We got to my school residence and in no time I was in my room. Nice place but the food na wa eeee. No pepper but as God will have it, a nice guy from my school whatsapp group helped me got some few stuff so I cook better pepper jollof wey I de use de balance my taste buds. The residence wan use their kinda food kill person sha. Although, apart from the food, I’m good good. I got in, settled and paid my tuition few days ago cos I only paid tuition deposit of 1750 Canadian dollars but I’ve paid my term tuition now and waiting for school to resume Jan 11th.

P.S cagary is beautiful and i can’t wait to explore!

FINALLY MY LANDING GIST !!!

we departed lagos on Sunday 27th December 2020 with EGYPT AIR.

before my flight
so i woke up at about 3:10AM on sunday, bags packed then it dawned on me me that i was finally leaving Nigeria. i had mixed feelings at first as i was heading to a new country i kept refleting o the journey so far from when i joined this thread in March 2020 how helpful its been cause i didn't use any agent, the long wait with unertainties from IRCC VFS and the likes. when the day broke i was filled with joy as my sister kept hyping me, so went to church to praie and thank God for everything before Leaving for the Airport.

LAGOS AIRPORT
So i got to the airport at about 11AM thinking i would just walk in as i had cheked in online the previous day, but no o, na so them diret enter queue . the checked all necessary documents, it was intact, i didnt need to settle anybody a dime. i saw one beautiful babe but didn't know it was Dameelee since i wasn't sure she was the one so i sent her a message through Nairaland DM she idn't reply so i said nor be she.
naso plane come o, looking very very scary, wasn't sure if i shuld board but when you look nigeria, you nor go thing twice run enter plane.
ADVICE- Bring everything you need cause services at the airport is expensive (Biro N100, Photocopy N300, Mask N500, Withdraw Cash N500 for N3,000 etc)
so the plane left, and time for food naso them give us bread and bread and bread mixed with chicken and cheese, my pain with the food esp the bread i that they were all very cold. for me the food is ZERO, so after 5 hours we got to Egypt, went straight to the immigration section, then i realised i didn't travel with my Tuition Reciept but thank God it was nott noticed. Then i confirmed this beautiful lady i saw in Nigeria was Dameelee and we connected she was nice, we waited for 4hours and now it wa time to board Cairo to Toronto. the plane was so beautiful and sharp.

tho i never enter plane before but the flight was loooooooooooooooooooooooong

after about 12hours we got to Toronto, OMOOOOOOOOOR!!!! Na me be this? from Warri to Toronto? i wan happy die but base on who we be we just package like say na normal life for us but if you see my MIIIIIND!!! i don throw backy tire. was still looking out for Dameelee hoping she nor miss for air cause she also got window seat
Fist time i saw Snow Live through the window i just dey smile inside my mind but outwardly we package ourself

fast forward, we got to immigration and my tuition reciept became an issue, i was delayed for some minutes cause they had to verify if truely iwas a student of CONESTOGA COLLEGE, finally baba gave me my Study Permit. OMOOOOOOOOR!!! i saw angels rolling re carpet for me to enter, naso me and Dameelee dey call family telling them we don finally land and cross POE

The HON RALFUDOH contacted me to pick me at the airport, when i stepped out of the aiport, MY PEOPLE OOOOOO the cold wen slap me eh infact the cold when HIT me, two seonds i reverse enter airport again before person turn okporoko finally HON RALFUDOH CAME jamming Naija gbedu songs in his car, was so warm inside.. As we dey drive, naso i dey talk OMOOOOOOOR!!! na me dey canada llike this Na me dey see Snow like this.
HON RALFUDOH was so nice that the gave me served me RICE and Confirm Pepper Stew, the food enter wella for the cold.
story still dey o but make QUARANTINE FINISH FIRST before them find me come house.

i kept saying when i sleep and wake up and i am still here then i am in Canada as i wake up open window see snow dey fall then YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! i am in Canada

LANDING GIST!!!

I left Lagos, Nigeria on 27th with Egypt air and arrived Toronto on the 28th.
Lagos airport
Got to the airport by 10:40am for my 2:30pm flight, I had already checked in online but trust me, that didn't change a thing. I joined the queue, and was asked for my passport, ticket, admission letter and arriveCan receipt. I was asked to re-do the arriveCan stuff because I filled it too early (1 week before my trip). They weighed my luggage, one of which weighed a bit more than the 23kg but I was lucky they overlooked it.
I went on to immigration and to my surprise nobody asked me for a dime (naija sef don dey get sense).

Lagos to Cairo flight
The plane for this flight looked a bit scary, looked shaky and old, I sha prayed and boarded with faith. There was in-flight entertainment. We were served bread upon bread upon bread, bread sef tire me, I liked the bread so I couldn't complain much. After about 5hrs, we arrived Cairo and had to wait for 4 hrs for the connecting flight to Toronto where I met Nairaluck. At the Cairo airport, we were asked to provide ArriveCan receipt, enrollment letter, proof of tuition payment and admission letter. The service was a bit too slow, probably because only one guy was attending to everyone.

Cairo to Toronto.
The 12hrs plus flight to toronto was the longest flight of my entire life. The plane for this flight was wayyyyy better than the previous one.
There was in-flight entertainment with more movies. We were served a lot of pastries as per usual. they also served this pasta that tasted really shitty.
I slept almost all through the flight but still the flight no gree end.
At exactly 7:04am Toronto time, we landed. The airport was so dry, I guess my flight was the first to land that day and no flight was leaving due to the lockdown in the province. They were very few officials at the airport to direct us and tells us what to do, so we were just there looking and sitting cluelessly. After minutes of clueless waiting, we were eventually directed to the immigration where we were made to join a queue.
It finally got to my turn and I met with an immigration officer, she only asked for my arriveCan receipt and my admission letter, thereafter she issued my study permit and said WELCOME TO CANADA. I smiled and left there to pick my bags and wait for my school to pick me up.

Now I am in quarantine day 5 and looking forward to an amazing new life in canada. Trust me Canada is a fine country, I haven't even seen much of the city but from what I have seen, I love it.
If you are thinking of giving up abeg DON'T, pick up from where you stopped, do more research, try again, pray (trust me, God answers) and believe that it will happen. (I'm feeling like a motivational speaker now sha, lol)

Aah, IRCC! I never believed I could be waiting for BVL and final decision up till this time. Damn! It's 2021 and I'm still refreshing my GCKey account, searching for new update. This is perplexing, very.

No choice now than to order GCMS notes.

As a PhD student who has a 4.17 in undergrad (2015), a 5.0 in MA (Dec. 2019), several published academic papers and a Dean's fellowship (full funding: tuition waiver, living expenses of 22k CAD and option of Graduate Assistantship for extra cash not counted towards my funding package), I had thought that getting a study permit would be easy and fast. But, yeah, it's 6 months and 15 days now, and old boy is still anxiously refreshing his GCkey account. How so sad!

At this point, I'm even beginning to get mad at IRCC. But then, it's their country, and as they'll quickly remind you, study permit/visa is a privilege not a right. Still, it's all so sad!

Good people I'm reaching y'all live from my quarantine room in Hamilton.

I arrived yesterday by 3pm canadian time via Emirates after a 5hr layover at Dubai and a long 15hr flight.

Temperature is 1°C outside.
My friend n old school mate picked me from YYZ and we went to eat at the residence of another old school mate who's married but husband is in the air arriving nxt yr.

There were several checks .
At 9ja you have airport officials checking weights of baggage, the Emirates staff checking covid-19, study papers like passport, LOA, Enrollment n tuition receipt, arriveCAN and flight ticket. Immigration dey too. Then those that search u and ur carryon before boarding.

At Dubai after the 5hrs layover, the Emirates guys still rechecked all the papers and we boarded.

Boeing 777 was cool. U are in an entertainment station of your own. You can request any drink anytime. Food was big ...though I no de eat much.

We delayed 1hr before take off cos one Arab family on 1st class came late.

Trek reach boarder officers they checked same papers, the guy offer me coffee sef. And gave me my study permit n directives on how to get SIN and Bank account.

Next step the agent only asked me to show my arriveCAN app. That's all.

I went to claim my other two 23kg boxes that I checked in.

Just before I exited to the waiting area, I was asked my declaration card.

As they see say I carry fish, the guy asked if I have ginger n vegetables I said yes. He politely said I should go for search.

I did.

The guy only inspected the ginger and opened the exit door to the waiting area.

I stepped out and waited until my guy came to pick me.

It's 18:49 here. We are still in 2020.

Gotten my Canada mobile line, Applied for SIN and booked an appointment with TD Bank for the 14th for my bank account since I have to appear in person.

Keep trying my people. All the wahala is worth it.

I'm still jetlagged so I really can't type much. This platform has really helped me with quality information and this is my way of giving back and saying THANK YOU to all NAIRALANDERS. So I will just summarize.

I left Nigeria on Sunday December 27 and arrived Vancouver on Monday December 28, it was a smooth flight. I flew Lufthansa, from Abuja-Frankfurt-Vancouver.

I wasn't even stressed about any documentation. At the Abuja airport, They checked my temperature, apparently if your temperature is high you won't be allowed in the airport unless you show a Covid-19 negative test report, so after I got to lufthansa counter, I was asked for my Ticket, passport, LOA and ArriveCan Slip. then they checked to confirm if my school was on the list of Covid-19 preparedness, then they helped me fill in the yellow immigration slip. The only thing that stressed me was the weight of my suitcases, I had to pay US$301 for an extra luggage which was about N120k.

We got to Frankfurt at 5:30am and my GOD, Frankfurt was FULL OF PEOPLE! I had to wear my face mask o. Now it was 11:55am, and we had to board to Vancouver, my temperature was checked and they asked for my boarding pass, passport, LOA and study permit, told them I was just going newly and so no study permit. We boarded and flew on what I will call the longest duration to Vancouver (that trip was long mehn!).

So when we arrived Vancouver airport, apparently I didn't fill in the ArriveCAN well, so i was asked to fill it in manually, I was soo embarrassed! after filling that, they gave me a slip which had a number to call everyday, to confirm that I had reached my place of isolation and to check in my symptoms daily. Then I headed straight to immigration to obtain my study permit. The immigration officer was sooo pleasant he only asked for my passport and LOI, I did over syllabus and handed him my passport, LOI, LOA and COE. He asked me what I was in Canada for, the name of my school and my course then he issued my study permit. He now asked whether I had raw fish or meat and I answered yes. he said was it in my hand luggage, told him no I checked it in. Next thing, he issued me a declaration form to take to the Agricultural section, before I reached the agricultural section, my two boxes had already been isolated!!! so I went there and told them those were my boxes they now said "oh welcome, we've been waiting for you!" I say ah wetin happun, apparently the security dog had sniffed my killishi. The officials asked if I had pomo, I said yes! something i paid an extra luggage for. So I was asked to open up the boxes and my brother, they seized my killishi, my knorr, my indomie onion, my pomo. I wanted to cryyyy. They now said I should not worry that they sell theses things there, i said but its expensive! anyway they trashed the items and allowed me leave. I got out of the airport and to be honest, I am currently outside of Vancouver in an area where it snows, the cold is not that bad as I expected it to be I even walked on snow with ordinary socks hahaha! no try am o! All in all it was a smooth experience, Canadians are nice and pleasant! I love it here already dieee! even though I am just on Day 4 of my quarantine. Someone pointed out that we were supposed to get a mail confirming that IRCC got the uploaded document for NSE. I have uploaded my bank statement and IELTS since Dec 3rd and I didn't get any email nor was the document being reviewed. So I raised a webform day before yesterday and I wasn't satisfied so I sent a mail using another of my email that was not used for applying for my permit. I got an automatic reply (something I don't get if I used my registered email).

Today I got a donotreply mail that they received my documents and my profile updated. If you are in similar situation you might want to try.

Hopefully the PPR drop soonest. It shall end in Praise.

Hello Guys, this enquiry is for a "special" Friend of mine. Its been over a month now since She applied for a study Visa to Canada and her resumption date is 18th January, the problem now is that last week she received the NSE letter informing her to submit IELTS and a year statement of account on or before 14th of January. The major Challenge here is the IELTS, been that there is no schedule date for Paper based test till the 9th of January and the IELTS result she has, the score for the reading is less than 6. Please I need Advice on next course of action . Note her typing speed is super low if you know what i mean .

Deferring is the best option as @chocs mentioned. I completely missed the resumption date first time I read through.

Bank reference letters for the 2 coys ( my own stated I was the sole signatory but my husband's own didn't state that)
Board resolution letters from both companies, confirming financial support for our daughter
Business registration documents for both companies incl co2&co7, TCC, MEMAT, one invoice & PO

Biometrics enrollment - 24/08/2020 ( booked appointment online 20/08/2020, account updated within an hour of completing it)

BVL - 25th Nov 2020
Sent web form about 2-3 weeks prior to receiving BVL asking for update as application has gone beyond standard processing time, got no acknowledgement or response initially, wasn't surprised as the province had not started allowing Int'l students at secondary school level.

I later received a response from my 1st webform to Guanzu, it didn't say anything just FYA of a forwarded mail to TR enquiries. I sent another set of webforms and mails saying that I've received BVL but no final decision yet, sent this once a week for 2 weeks.

15th Dec 2020 - sent PP to VFS via DHL 2-way courier
16th Dec 2020 - 1st mail from VFS saying PP has been sent to IRCC from Lagos VAC
21st Dec 2020 - 2nd email from VFS saying decision envelope has been received from IRCC 1.01pm and will be dispatched to visa application centre

I know VFS Lagos has gotten a lot of bad reviews but I swear I didn't have to call to follow up or send emails, I had even put my mind to receiving it in February but lo and behold, it's here!

I got my request for medicals and a new admission letter( because I deferred) on October 5th
My agent submitted a new admission letter on the same day I got the request via email
Did my medicals on October 30th, showed passed medicals on November 4th
After a while of not hearing from IRCC, I asked around and someone told me I was meant to submit the admission letter via web form
After submitting via web form (October 13th ) my profile updated to all necessary document received
December 17th I got my first corresponding letter but to date, I have not gotten any passport request
What can I do or has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Since you deferred, when are you supposed to resume?

I've heard alot that when one receives medical request, it's a very good sign that PPR would follow.
If you have some more time, just be patient.

Timeline for my cousin, who got her passport today.

1)Applied on August 6
2)Medical request on November 23
3)Medical done at IOM Lagos on December 7.
4)Medical passed on December 12
5)Passport request December 16
6)Two-way courier was sent through DHL on December 18 (a Friday)
7)Application was received on Monday, December 21 and sent to IRCC on the same day
Decision envelope was dispatched from IRCC on Wednesday, December 23
9)Decision envelope was received by VFS Abuja on Thursday, December 24.
10)Contacted DHL to know if they are picking up packages from VFS Abuja, they said yes.
11)Shipment was put on hold because of the holidays. But it was shipped into Lagos on Saturday.
12)Today, Tuesday December 29, DHL delivered around 1pm.
13)She leaves for Canada next week.

Applications are never the same. What worked for A may not work for B. Do your best and leave the rest to God. These entry officers no dey check everything. I think they just apply discretion.
