Two directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) – Mr Harrison Onwon, Director, Legal Services, and Mr Jimoh Gbejule, Acting Director, Finance and Supply - have been suspended indefinitely by the Board of the commission.

Sunday Sun learnt that the Board took the decision at its meeting on Thursday, during which it resolved that the trio be suspended for illegally orchestrating the transfer of US$20 million (about N3 billion) from its offshore account in Union Bank United Kingdom to an unauthorized account in First Bank, also in the UK.
Nigerians should realize that the problem of the country is not between the North and the South, but the between the Corrupt and the Oppressed Nigerians.
Mr Onwon and Gbejule are both Niger Deltans
, who are stealing from their own people.

Niger Delta native or not the underlying issues have not been addressed. EFCC should investigate the amnesty because the thing was a complete fraud and a total travesty.
So you want EFCC to investigate thesame Amnesty given to Niger Delta Militants managed by Niger Deltans?

Dog eating Dog here man !.

Nobody is actually fighting for anybody, Militants are criminals taking advantage of the neglects of the Niger delta to create anarchy and line their pockets from oil bunkering.

SportsBreaking News !!:Amos Adamu Suspended For 3 Years and Fined by deor03(op): 11:19am On Nov 18, 2010
Amos Adamu  has been suspended for 3 years by FIFA

Nigeria's Amos Adamu has been suspended from all footballing activity by Fifa's Ethics Committee for three years and fined $10,000.

Tahiti's Reynald Temarii was suspended for one year and fined $5,000 by the committee.

The move follows allegations that the pair asked for money in return for voting on World Cup hosting rights.

It means they will not be able to vote on which countries will host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup.

Adamu released a statement protesting his innocence and vowing to fight the ruling.

"I am profoundly disappointed with the Ethics Committee's findings and had honestly believed I would be exonerated of any charges by now," he said.

"I am innocent of all the charges levelled against me by the Ethics Committee and I completely refute the decision they have made.

"I will be lodging a full appeal against it with immediate effect."

Four former executive members - Slim Aloulou of Tunisia, Mali's Amadu Diakite, Ahongalu Fusimalohi of Tonga and Botswana's Ismael Bhamjee - all received sanctions from Fifa.

Bhamjee was banned for four years, Diakite and Fusimalohi for three and Aloulou for two and all four were fined $10,000.

But the committee dismissed accusations of collusion between Spain/Portugal and Qatar, who are bidding to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups respectively.

@homerac7

I love your view and patriotism, but unfortunately reality is far from that.  I wholly support the idea of the NYSC but disagree with the implementation as it were today.

If a community wants some people to come serve them for a year, they should provide the BASIC amenities for human beings.

FYI I served in the north almost a decade ago{ and i stayed and served for the whole year} and you can imagine how this person will cope when the heat wave starts or when the harmattan season kicks in.  Are you saying the LGA chairman lives in a house like this ?

To me, you have to be alive, in order to be patriotic.

This corper's  Lodge is a NO NO

Are u tryn 2 b sarcastic? Mrs Ndi's sack is fait accompli. Your arguments are self defeating, just imagine that the woman is enjoying whilst many people are in debt due to her dereliction of duty (that is criminal negligence), she was literally in bed with bank MD's and Stockbrokers. Anyways, if you must know, KPMG and Oyebode did not sack her, the Securities Exchange did (and its being manned by an Ibo woman).

Jakumo:
Akin, my observations about the statistical over-representation of the Igbo tribe in the engineering sciences are based on my having had the privilege of reviewing thousands of resumes submitted by job-seeking Nigerian graduates, and also my involvement in the follow-up selection interviews conducted to sort out the pretenders from the true scholars.

To answer your question directly, my presumption about the genetic basis of Igbo intellect is grounded largely in the fact that such massive numbers of Igbo men DOMINATE the engineering disciplines, while candidates from Nigeria's other tribal demographics, even when grouped together, constitute a distinct minority in those specific technical subjects.  Whether this enormous academic specialization disparity is due to nature or nurture will likely remain an intriguing mystery for some time to come.

By the way, the multiple degree holder described in your first post here is a living national treasure who, as time goes on, has the potential to positively and profoundly impact the advancement of Nigeria AND his adopted homeland.
In as much as the fact presented above could be true , I disagree with your presumption of the basis of the fact.

People are influenced by their environment. For the basis of my Argument I will divide Nigerian Environment into 3 ( the SW ; The East+Niger Delta and the North)

The examples of success in the South West is predominantly in the Banking , Judiciary , Construction Engineering Sectors, IT,Medical Sector,Business
In the The East + Niger Delta, the predominant influence is the Oil and Gas Sector, Medical Sector
In the north , The predominant Influence is on Politics, Millitary, Civil Service ect

Bases on the fact presented above, It is normal that a young Nigerian growing up In any Part of these part of Nigeria to be influenced based on what is termed success in that part of the Country.

For a young Male Nigerian growing up in the East or ND, He will most likely want to work in Shell , Mobil, etc, so right from Secondary school , his mind is tuned to that.
To work in these industry, you must study one of the Engineering courses and also do so with VERY good grades.
Getting into the competitive Engineering disciplines requires good secondary school O level result.

So as to achieve the Ultimate AIM, the Child is tuned to scoring Good grades from SS1 till 500 Level in the University.

So I submit that performance of the Igbo guy , is largely driven by the environment, rather than the genes.

I would be interested in this study, though to ascertain by assumptions .

Maybe comparing a group of Lagos Born and Bred IGBO guys to the Owerri/Onitsha Born and Bred IGBO guys
