Slytiger: One thing I have learnt. When people spill hate, hate comes back to them. You've never for once watched him debate before. This is evident in your words. The guy was one of the few people that debate people without disrespecting the other people even if insulted. You can't be shouting about hatred when someone is telling you the truth. "Come let's talk";"prove me wrong" was his only crime. I don't know when opposing views becomes a crime that attracts death sentence. You must be a Muslim |

https://x.com/vanguardngrnews/status/1965297250638463278?t=rYrKQzDZc7vwmOrYY8Rs7A&s[/quote]We are seriously in trouble in this country if this is the trend. People will literally be killing themselves for food if this happens to be reality, because I know 80% of the almost 500million would still believe the government should be spoon-feeding them. We are too unproductive in this country for people to be giving birth in a manner that puts rabbits to shame. If this trend is not stopped, we are going to be having serious crisis, even in the next 20 years. You think it's no longer safe to travel without being kidnapped in 2025? Wait till we have this huge unproductive population in 2100 without the commensurate revenue to take of things. The future of this country is so fade. |

Villa12: The simple question you should ask yourself is that, what has APC done that makes Nigerians hate them this much. The common man on the street will give you answers to the question The last I remember, we still haven't had a political party in we love in Nigeria. What a common man on the street would say in 2006 is the same thing they would say today. To the best of my knowledge, 5% of Nigerians have always been at the top of the food chain, while the rest suffers. I wonder if most of you guys are kids. If the history of Nigerian economy is not thought in school, try to at least study on your free time. I'm old enough to know that Nigeria haven't had a day better than the previous one;everything getting worse year on year, but typical of you guys, you want a quick fix without doing something drastic. |

Exactly the kind of mentality that allowed the menace to grow in the North East. I wish you well as you want your region to be like North East since 5 lives means nothing to you. I remember this was the same reactions of the North easterners to the armed forces offensive against terrorists. |

malali: 2023 Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) • Oyo State: ₦52.74 billion (₦40.52B taxes + ₦12.12B MDAs) • Kwara State: ₦59.64 billion (₦23.12B taxes + ₦36.51B MDAs)
Kwara generated more IGR than Oyo state in 2023. There are statistics to prove this and Kwara has more IGR growth than Oyo state. Voodoo politics must stop in Nigeria, we have numbers and statistics to prove it. Stop bringing statistics from thin air. You're not dealing with almajiris here. Of course, you can't justify why almajiri states are being duplicated just for them to enjoy more national cakes unmerited and had to resort to Kwara State. Does Kwara State resemble your average northern state? Kwara is a progressive state with 65% Yoruba populations. We're not beggars. I've added the screenshot for you to compare since you decided to manufacture your own data. Note that more than half of what you see coming from Oyo state is from the ibadan area. Please explain why we have a Niger or kebbi states, but we can't have ibadan state?

It wasn't yet dark in the East when the Op posted that picture of thick darkness and I was wandering if it was yesterday's moon in such a dark world. Lagos is basically 12 minutes ahead of UTC. Guys in the east are the real owners of the West African Time. If you've lived in Lagos all your life, 6am would be like 8am to you in places like Yola. East should actually go dark first. |

Tell us why Ibadan should be a state. Have you been to Niger state ? Have you been to kwara state ? Give us metrics. The proposed ibadan state as we know it is more economically viable than Niger would ever be. Ibadan metro alone is almost 4milli in population. What exactly are the remaining criteria after economic and demographic? Argue with statistics. I'm from Kwara State in case you're confused. |

Imagine.. Just a meagre 11 Local Governments Areas and a capital wants to upgrade to statehood.
Alaska, a state in the US, is about double the size of Nigeria in landmass.
Texas, a single state, also in the US, is almost the size of Nigeria.
Yet, we have 36 + 1 states and we still want more?
Hmmmmmmmm. Weak argument. Oyo state is almost twice the size of the whole south east. Bayelsa has 8lga, Gombe 11 and the two are not even as populous as the proposed ibadan state |

malali: What exactly is the criteria for demanding statehood?
If someone insists that Ibadan should be made a state, shouldn’t he face the public in a proper press conference to explain why?
Look at America: • Texas is so massive you can drive 24 hours across it and still be in the same state. • Some U.S. states even stretch across multiple time zones.
Yet, they’re not breaking themselves up into little fragments every time someone feels entitled.
Meanwhile, here, every small local government with three roundabouts wants to crown itself a “state.” For what? Prestige? More political appointments? Access to federal allocation?
This constant agitation for micro-states is unserious. Real states are built around economic viability, infrastructure, and governance capacity, not just sentiment.
Until someone can define the hard criteria, population size, GDP output, landmass, resources, this noise about turning every LGA into a state is nothing but a distraction. Kebbi and Sokoto states have no business being two states. They should be one. Same as Kano and Jigawa. I don't even know why Yobe and Borno should be different states or Gombe and Bauchi. Do you think Kebbi, Gombe, Jigawa or Yobe would have a state if they weren't before now? Ibadan is more economically viable than all the aforementioned states combined. Ibadan satisfies every criteria for State creation, so I don't know your problem. |

dederocs: How can state governors be so corrupt, lazy and inefficient, they are saying they can't start state police...are governors useless?
Why then does each state have governors?
Nigeria must really scrutinize the type of human beings they support to become governors of their state.
State police is supposed to be a state issue, employing indigenes of your state to guard your state.
You people will give up your rights and cry later. Very lazy irresponsible citizens and governors. I believe the State policing should be open to any willing and capable states. Lazy governors should not be allowed to delay progress of others. If they like, they should allow bandits kill everyone in their states. |
