Most of the Governors are not doing well and are easily the major contributor to our woes as a nation.
The state and local governments are supposed to be closer to the people and have far more impacts than the the FG, but what do we have?
Everyone is pointing fingers at the center, including the Governors who are supposed to be the superintendent in their domains.
The chairman of the damn governor's forum, but I don't even know if he's doing well or not, because I've not been to my state since he became governor

LGs are not indepedent from the states. The constitution puts them under the administration of the states. Go and read section 7 very well.
That does not mean you can't hold them accountable BUT they are under the administration of the state.

Besides, this doesn't disprove the fact that things get worse as we go by. Prices of goods and services were still more expensive during the Yar Adua regime than they were during Obj period and the last time I checked, there's has no time Nigerians have not complained about how our governments have been and how bad things were. It only got worse now, and rapidly so.
As long as we continue to do things the same way, the next government will be worse than this. It's not a curse.

Major issues we have in this country is that people appointed to perform some duties are not independent of the forces of corruption.

Nigeria was doing better than more than 70% of the countries of the at independence, including all the Asians Tigers. How many years along the line and we're 500years behind?
I personally think the 1966 coup was a grave mistake and we should take things back to how they were before that point in time.

It's time we realized we need more people that can go into farming than we have now.
We spend and invest our money on somethings that are not so important.
If a Nigerian has some change now, what he or she would think of investing on won't be beyond building hotels, setting up restaurant or bars. Most farmers don't have enough capital necessary for large scale farming. That's why we depend heavily on imported food.
Most people see farming as dirty jobs, but interestingly you don't even have to be in the farm to be a farmer.

Everything is not government. Before we have modern democracy, we've been existing. No one ever accuse our traditional rulers of starving them. It's understandable in time of famine when yields are bad. This is not the situation, but everyone is singing things are expensive but no one ever imagined who will do the farming if they don't.
Government don't own farms or sell foodstuffs, and I'm damn sure if the government gives everyone funds to farm, majority of those shouting of hunger will divert it for something else.

If farming is not lucrative, food would be very cheap and we won't even be having this conversation in the first place.

The reason Why most people are shunning farming even in the rural places is because it is not profitable. You can not buy your dream car, or build your dream house just by farming in a subsistence way, which most Nigerians do.

This is actually funny because, how many people are building their own houses and buying their dream cars from their salaries?

You don't make enough profit. Your entire produce in a year can be bought with someone's four months salary who is earning just 60k as a whitecolor job earner. The farmers in the village have seen how easy those working In the town and elsewhere in the oil industry, tech, entertainment e.t.c., make money and live quite okay. They also want that soft life.

If you spend 100k on farming, someone earning 60k monthly can't buy your produce with his or her annual salary. That's a fact.
Since I started farming in 2017, I've never spend above 200k on two hectares of land. Since then, I don't even know the price of Garri or yam again. I'll be adding beans this year. After taking what I need for myself, the proceeds from selling the rest can buy everything else I need for the year. I'm not factoring what it's been stolen, because I've not been on the farm since 2019.
I'm very surprised you're saying farming is not profitable. As far as I know, it's the only risk free venture that guarantees profit, safe for bad yields and pests.

No nation can farm their way into prosperity through subsistence farming with crude tools as Nigerians do.

No one is saying we should farm our way to prosperity, but at least, we must be able to self sufficient in terms of agriculture.
The problem we're having now is because we can not feed ourselves.
We all want the prices of food to be reasonably OK, but want to assume that someone somewhere is doing all the farmings for us to and buy it cheap.
We can't keep blaming the government for food scarcity. Government don't sell foodstuffs, it's people that grow it
