PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 7:19pm On Dec 16, 2009
@Justcash:
1st step of developing a nation = Citizens working together and giving back to their country.
Please access this link and take a look at your brothers and sisters doing volunteer work in Lagos.

Jushcash: are you willing to give back to your country?
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 5:37pm On Dec 16, 2009
It has been nice chatting with you, Let's do it again. Got to go.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 5:31pm On Dec 16, 2009
I think if all of us (the citizens) and the government are committed to do the right things, this country will fly high again.
But we can not be posting movie script and expect things to change. We all have to sincerely get involved.

May I ask you where is the location of your business and what exactly do you do?
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 5:07pm On Dec 16, 2009
@Justcash:
In a nut-shell, the answer to your topic is: It is difficult to develop Nigeria because there is no law and there is no protocol
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 5:01pm On Dec 16, 2009
Justcash:
Loans are not given carelessly. Normally a business loan involves, a presentation of a good business plan, presentation of collateral, sureities and referees, proper investigation,  evaluation of the loan's viability and profitability (Through rigid financial analysis) and some regulatory/monitoring activities by the bank.
Conditions attached to loans depend on the credibility level of individuals. If a Man wants to collect a 20million naira loan, and has properties worth 40 million as collateral, it is a good bergain. whether the person has 100 passports may not matter. As soon as he/she defaults, the collateral will effectively be given up.
Yes, development starts from home, but don't forget that the behavioural standard of a county's populace is largely determined by the kind of enforcement on ground.
In a country where 90% of the population doesn't believe in obeying laws, what you have just posted is nothing but a movie script.
May be we should start with empowering our constitutions, educating the citizens and introducing the importance of obeying the laws to the citizens.

Business operates better and much more successful in an environment that embraces the laws.
In Nigeria we do not have laws.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:55pm On Dec 16, 2009
There are plenty of good reasons why businesses in Nigeria do not operate the way you desire or wish, and I suggest that you should address those reasons.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:52pm On Dec 16, 2009
@Justcash:
I know that you have indicated that you're a businessman and I honestly admire your energy, but my man, you need to slow down and look at other people's views. May be you"ll learn one or two things that will benefit your business in future.
FYI: Business also runs in my bloodstream big time (that's all I see and all I know).

A good businessman listens.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:45pm On Dec 16, 2009
Just few months ago CBN discovered up to 800 billion Naira dead loans (outstanding loans).
@Justcash:
Who do you think these loans were given to?
And why do you think the loans were dead for many years and only discovered couple of months ago?

Bros, business is good and creating jobs is even better, but development starts with you and I; then business comes in later. That is the only way you will witness a complete developmental circle (just like a new born).
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:33pm On Dec 16, 2009
@Justcash:
How do you expect banks to give loans to new business owners when a citizen in Nigeria is able to have up to 6 international passports with different names?

Development doesn't only start with businesses and jobs, I think it starts from our homes.
Being great citizens and working together.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:21pm On Dec 16, 2009
Justcash:
The Topic is fine. I have been arguing in that context.
@Justcash
In order for your case to sit well with your posts, I think you should change the topic.

All you have talked about is business, getting loans, creating jobs and making money. I think developing Nigeria is much more bigger than just your dream.

Let me give you some example of Development:
1. Reliable medical system (non profit organization)
2. Credible education system (non profit organization)
3. Constant power supply
4. Obeying the laws
5. Solid security system
6. National citizen identification system.
7. Credible electoral system
8. Better public transportation system and so on.

But all you've focused on is simply business and creating jobs; which is not a bad vision. But you must also pay attention to other important factors that will give a better path to implementing successful businesses in Nigeria.
Without all these little things you have omitted, it will be a waste of time trying to do business in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 2:26pm On Dec 16, 2009
Justcash: May be you should change the topic to: why is it so difficult for some businesses to grow in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 4:08am On Dec 16, 2009
@Justcash:I 2 also appreciate your energy.
But doing business and creating jobs is not development. It's called food on the table.
We need to first develop ourselves mentally before making any attempt to develop the country.
You can pump billions of Naira into the economy daily, if the society is uncivilized, the outcome of your investment will be a waste of money and time.

Nigerians are not civilized and this is one of the reasons why our leaders refuse to recognize their responsibilities.
Civilization starts from our homes.
PoliticsRe: President Can Rule Nigeria From Saudi Arabia —aondoakaa by Depilot(m): 4:00am On Dec 16, 2009
Do not blame Aondoakaa, the man is only doing his job.
The way I see things, I think Yaradua will feel better very soon and return back home to carry on. I do not see this guy stepping down or dieing any time soon.

I say get used to it and let's plan for 2011.

Your posts are too agressive and very cheap. You need to be more creative, respect yourself, bring something solid to the table and I assure you that you'll do just fine.
PoliticsRe: Cbn:: No More N10m Cheques, From Jan 1, 2010 by Depilot(m): 8:04pm On Dec 15, 2009
I honestly like Sanusi, I think he's determined to do his best to strengthen our accounting and financial reporting system in Nigeria.
But No more N10M Cheques will not do much; I can trust my Nigerian brothers and sisters that they will find another way to beat this system in a very short period.

It is also a better idea for us in Nigeria to always test a system before introducing it to the public. I'm 10000000% sure that this new system has not be properly tested. But yet, it is scheduled to be used starting from Jan 1, 2010.

@Beaf: Snowdrops might be right.
Your innocent posts are being deleted because they may be simultaneously too aggressive and cheap.

I've told you too many times in the past that you do not need muscle for everything.
Take it down a bit, show some respect and I assure you that your innocent posts will not be deleted.

PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria So Difficult To Develop? by Depilot(m): 7:03pm On Dec 15, 2009
It's very challenging to develop Nigeria because people like yourself and myself are not doing anything, but complain and use corrupt leaders as an excuse.

It takes the entire village to raise a bright kid; I think it also takes everyone of us to see a well developed Nigeria.

Many of us are too busy and too focus on only making money in Nigeria; none of us is willing to volunteer to contribute anything toward developing this country.

May be this is the right moment for each and everyone of us to pause and ask ourselves this question:
I'm now 25 yrs old or 30 yrs old or 40 yrs old or 50 yrs old, through out my life as a Nigerian, what have I ever done for this country?
If you can not come up with at least 2 things, you're part of the problem.

You need not to steal money from Nigeria to be corrupt.
