I understand what the Original poster is saying. And dont say he is just one person.

It took some Arab guys to label a whole Arab race as terrorists. When you see a man from Afghanistan or any Arabian nation what comes to your mind? Terror.

How many people did it take to label a whole RACE?

When people started declining to board flights with Arabs on board.
Things are not viewed this way around the world, especially with this 24 hrs news cycle world. We must be very careful and come together to make it known not only on Nairaland, but around the world that this bastar d doesn't represent anything Nigerian.

I have been getting phone calls all around the world (from Non-Nigerians) asking me questions regarding this ridiculous and animal behaviour.

It is not about what we believe, it is all about what the rest of the world believes; and if we are not prudent in addressing this latest news, our image around the world is doomed for a very long time.

Please understand that this news is bigger and worse than our 419 image or news.

i am against the heading of this your post, why crying more than the bereaved, everybody knows that nigeria are peaceful and loving people, you cannot use 1 person to judge a country of 150 million people, and i know i will never esperience hell, what you wish is what you get shikena
My friend, it doesn't work like that; from today forward, you need to start thinking broadly. It takes one bad fish to infect the entire fish pond.

Nigerians must come together immediately to denounce what this bastar d has attempted to do. Or else we will end up paying for it for a very long time.

America has been nothing, but a great country to Nigeria and Nigerians. If you see anything less, you must simply be a bastar d.
This animal behaviour must not be condone; I pray for this fool to be tortured slowly to death.
PoliticsRe: This Is The Beginning Of Hell For Nigeria And Nigerians by Depilot(op): 4:46pm On Dec 26, 2009
@Paroh_frey:
Please do not ask me a dumb question.
The best thing any decent Nigerian could do at this point is to vigorously denounce this bastar d . We must not condone this type of animal behaviour. Nigerians are great peaceful people, who do not believe in doing evil things to other countries.

Together we must fight for our image, and we can start this by condemning this bastar d (animal).
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Man Attempts To Detonate Explosive On Delta Flight In US by Depilot(m): 4:37pm On Dec 26, 2009
Muslims or no Muslims, I want to fuc k this guy up with my hands.
The bastar d has unnecessarily placed our lovely country and people on a black list. Nigerians are crazy, but we are great peaceful people, who do not believe in doing evil things to other countries.

America has been very good to our country and to our people; this bastar should be sent back to Nigeria; he deserves to be tortured slowly to death.
PoliticsThis Is The Beginning Of Hell For Nigeria And Nigerians by Depilot(op): 4:24pm On Dec 26, 2009
I still find it unbelievable that a Nigerian attempted to bring down American plane on American soil. This is very serious and the last thing any Nigerian wants on our already tarnished resume. What the hell was this bastard thinking? Is this bastard really a Nigerian?

You may not see it or understand it at this point, but this news is a very bad news for Nigeria and Nigerians. We will all smell pepper for this.

Nigerians are great peaceful people, we do not deserve this from anyone; I just need 5 minutes in an empty room to ****. I am very upset and concerned about the future of our country and our people.

That animal Ribadu labeled Nigeria RED. May God destroy him completely and totally. They mess us up to a globally corrupt country like the US where they officially have law firms and government agencies specialized ONLY in money laundering.
You're on point on this one,
To send money to anywhere is usually not a problem till you identify yourself as Nigerian or if you're sending the money to Nigeria or from Nigeria.
It was never like this till this basta rd called Ribadu destroyed the image of our nation and our people. This fool travelled everywhere and visited many TV/Radio stations all over the world, mapping Nigeria as a corrupt country and Nigerians as corrupt people.

How stupi d could one be? How dumb could one be? We have leaders and we have fools; Ribadu is a fool.
PoliticsRe: El-rufai Suspends Planned Return To Nigeria by Depilot(op): 5:29am On Dec 24, 2009
Pretty soon some enemies (fools) of Nigeria will be inviting him (El-rufai) and his girl-friend (Ribadu) to come and replace Yaradua.
The jobless bastards (El-rufai and Ribadu) should be brought back home and tortured to death for playing Nigerians for fools.

el-Rufai suspends planned return to Nigeria - We are expecting him - EFCC
From Lanre Adewole and Seyi Gesinde - 23.12.2009

The embattled former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has made a U-turn on his proposed return to Nigeria, to clear his name on corruption charges levelled against him.

el-Rufai had earlier announced his intention of returning to Nigeria on December 27 after he would have completed his post-graduate studies at Harvard University in the United States.

His lawyer, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, who disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, said el-Rufai decided to shelve his proposed home coming owing to the “need to take a political position in relation to the manifestly unwarranted accusation aimed at providing further pretext to menace his life and liberty.”

According to him, “an overwhelming number of family and friends (of el-Rufai) who had earlier supported his decision to return in December have urged a deferral as a result of the current leadership vacuum in Nigeria.

He said “this is also the view of his political associates in the G53 and the Good Governance Group (3G).

“In addition, he has also received counsel to delay his return from leading traditional rulers and other political leaders whose views he respects.

“To this effect, el-Rufai has now decided to announce a later date of his return.”

However, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri, on Tuesday disclosed that the commission was expecting el-Rufai.

Farida spoke while receiving football ambassador, John Fashanu, at the commission’s office in Abuja.

The anti-corruption chief said although EFCC had not received a formal letter informing it that the man would come on December 27, she noted that anytime the former minister stepped in, he would be made to answer for himself.

"I read it in one of the newspapers, I think THISDAY, that el-Rufai would be returning to the country on the 27th of this month but we are yet to receive a formal letter to that effect. Anyway, we are waiting for his return because he has a case to answer with EFCC," Waziri said.

china has one of the most unpleasant leaders around the world, but yet the country continues to prosper in the eyes of or against all odds.
anyone that gives credit to chinese government for her great accomplishments around the world is a fool. all the credits go to the citizens that continue to push through even when things in their country are far from being perfect. this is called discipline and dedication.
i predict that in a very short period real democracy will be introduced in china and this country will immediately take over the world. they will become the super power of the world.
leaders in china are cruel and human rights law is clearly redefined in this environment, but still the leaders and the citizens (followers) completely understand their responsibilities.
in nigeria, the citizens are as bad as their leaders; but nobody has the sincerity to address this issue. i’m afraid that regardless of the name of our next president or where the president is from, nigeria will continue to fall behind till the citizens and the leaders understand and embrace their responsibilities.
blind men leading blind people; who is to blame when the fat pot breaks?
I did not see it this way; I guess, it all boils down to discipline and dedication
PoliticsRe: What Diffrence Does It Make If Goodluck Takes Over Today? by Depilot(op): 1:12am On Dec 23, 2009
I see your point . Nonetheless there is the consideration that great people produce great leadership and great leaders in history have also gone on to produce an inspired , and ultimately, great people. This is like the conundrum of wether the egg produced the Chicken or the other way round.

Of course I am not foolish enough to think that the progress of Nigeria will depend on the coming of a Messiah but given how disunited , disillusioned and dejected Nigerians are our problems may begin to have solutions if we gain a very decent and pro-people President. In Nigeria power is concentrated consumately in the Presidency. In other words it is the call of the President to develop or regress Nigeria. He can also develop Nigerians and make them believe in the values of hardwork, honesty and integrity or he can give them the type of values , through his own bling lifestyle and gross theft, that makes them conclude that stealing is the only way to get on in life !!!!

Do some of us not wonder why some of those very smart 4i9ners never deploy their intelligence to develop big business brands that would be far more profitable than risky endeavour that may lead to lengthy jail term? Could it be that they are generational victims of decades during which consecutive Nigerian Leaders glamourised stealing and dishonesty ? A good President can begin to make Nigerians believe again just like how Fashola's actions has convinced those who had written off Lagos to begin paying their taxes voluntarily !!!!

I am one of those who does not believe that Nigerians are intrinsically bad, corrupt or dishonest. Successive crooks , as Presidents, have given Nigerians questionable examples to follow , ultimately leading to warped ethics. Let us struggle , in 2011 , to gain a decent President , who will genuinely lead by example, and we shall see if many Nigerians will not begin questioning their own wrong attitude. If we have a President who says "A" and it is actually A , how long before those working under him start to believe again in integrity ,honesty, patriotism and a better Nigeria ? How long before the man in the street gains a new attitude and belief in a great Nigeria?

We just need to stop giving our number one job to crooks, egomaniacs and ill-prepared individuals. The damage they do bastardizing the ethos of Nigerians is what is responsible for getting us where we are today.

I say the beginning of a new Nigeria starts from the fight to ensure a man of integrity and purpose takes over as President in 2011. No more cabal-serving cronies as President !!!!!
Very refreshing, on point and extremely seasoned.
PoliticsWhat Diffrence Does It Make If Goodluck Takes Over Today? by Depilot(op): 3:41pm On Dec 22, 2009
As long as we are all Nigerians, we will forever cry, complain, whine, criticize and quickly make our judgement about things we clearly do not know; even if Jesus happens to be our president it wouldn't make any difference, Nigerians are born to cry and point finger at everybody and everything except themselves. So, why all the noise about Yaradua stepping down and Goodluck taking over?
Goodluck as our president, I can assure you that in less than 2 months Goodluck will be criticized and painted with dirty black paint by the same people calling for him to take over.
May be this is the perfect time for all of us to pause for a second and realize that it takes excellent followers to produce a great leader.
May be if we change the way we view things, it will also rub off on our leaders and everyone else around us.

I'm not saying Goodluck shouldn't take over, but let us also change our mindset to succeed.

Goodluck is loyal to his boss and not the ambitious type
I agree.

The man is not a fool, he understands politics.
Muscle is not everything, sometimes it's cool to use your head and allow things to take place naturally. What is yours can not be taken away from you.

Ojukwu tried to use muscle and he failed. He's still paying for his failure today.
Goodluck will rule when the time is right.

Your problem is: you think you need to use muscle for everything.

He will also go down in history as the greediest coward if eventually he is pushed out of office due to ill-health. At some point somebody will have to prove the state of health of the President to the Nation. We live in the 21st century.
Bros, I hate to correct you, but what is going on really has very little to do with Yaradua. It looks like it's all Yaradua, they said it is, but it isn't.
There is more to it, trust me.

@Topic:
Again, Goodluck is a very smart politician, he knows how to walk the walk and completely understands the Nigerian political game. Therefore, I do not think he's under any pressure; he has the capability to lead this country and I think he'll do well.
The question we should be asking ourselves is: Is Yaradua ever going to step down?
PoliticsRe: Can Goodluck Jonathan Wstand The Pressures From The Northerners? by Depilot(m): 3:00am On Dec 21, 2009
Mikeansy, my good friend. Slow down, I did not expect my post to hit you that hard.

You need not to know any politician, it's simply a common sense to know that we do not go by the book in Nigeria. We go with the flow and it has been this way may be before you were born.
So why attack depilot?
I do not make the laws and I'm not a politician, therefore you may be raising your blood pressure over nothing.

May be Writing your senators to advise them to think like Obama isn't a bad idea.
What do you say?

We are all on the same boat, but just don't come here posting stories from Nigerian newspapers and thinking you're stating facts.
It just doesn't work this way, bros.
PoliticsRe: Can Goodluck Jonathan Wstand The Pressures From The Northerners? by Depilot(m): 1:29am On Dec 21, 2009
@mikeansy:
Obviously, you do not live in Nigeria and you've been gone, may be for too long.
Are you one of those people that visit Nigeria for 2 wks every 3 years and think that they know how things go down in Nigeria? Do you even know what is really going on in Abuja regarding Yaradua?
Please, just slow down. You do not have to believe me. I suggest that you wait and see what happens.

We do not go by the book in Nigeria and most of the stories you see on the newspapers or on the internet are customized. I have witnessed this not 10 times, but more than 1000 times.
You think you know, but honestly, you do not know much.
Bros, trust me on this one; I've read most of your posts.
PoliticsRe: Can Goodluck Jonathan Wstand The Pressures From The Northerners? by Depilot(m): 12:03am On Dec 21, 2009
I honestly think that if yaradua decides to step aside, Goodluck will take over with conditions of the northerners.
Goodluck is known to be politically smart (he completely understands the game and also ready to play the game along with the northerners), therefore he will go with the flow with zero hesitation; but he is not going to step down.
Stepping down contradicts the political games from Abuja and can also create unnecessary conflict.

Please note that if we should to go by the silly constitution, the northerners have the authority to produce the president for the next 6 years.

My question is: if the president must come from the northern part of Nigeria for 2 terms, how come the VP was not also from the north for those 2 terms? Why was Goodluck picked as the VP? How come another Hausa man wasn't picked as the VP?
Transferring power between the president and the VP would have be a very simple process if we had done our assignment correctly.
I don't get.
PoliticsRe: Ibori Is Discharged And Acquitted by Depilot(m): 3:09pm On Dec 18, 2009
Ribadu should be held responsible.

It was very clear from day 1 that Ibori wasn't going to jail if Ribadu wasn't going to be present to empower the evidence they have brought against Ibori.
Ribadu who approved the arrest of Ibori has been on the run for over 8 months; come on guys, what exactly did you expect?

During Ibori's trial, Ribadu's name was also mentioned more than dozen time and linked to several allegations. Ibori made sure that he took advantage of Ribadu being illegally on the run during this period.

Someone even suggested yesterday in Abuja that Ribadu playing this AWOL game may have been designed for Ibori to be acquitted.
If the evidence isn't clear or doesn't fit and nobody is willing to prove it, the court of law has no choice but to discharge and acquit the individual that is on trial.

Furthermore, do you guys notice that Ribadu hasn't made any comment as yet, but when Bode George got 2 yrs in jail, Mr. Ribadu was the first to release statement, that shines light on himself.

Ribadu is no Saro-Wiwa or Gani Fawehinmi.
PoliticsRe: Ibori Is Discharged And Acquitted by Depilot(m): 9:05pm On Dec 17, 2009
Ribadu is to be blamed.
If Ribadu had handled his job accordingly, sincerely and professionally, all these thieves will be in jail today; but he messed everything up and now he's on the run.

Happy for Anambrahuh

I say start crying for Anambra in advance. Go and check Sloudo's record; I do not see why anyone should be happy for anything.
This is not IICC shooting Stars Vs Enugu Rangers, it is not Yoruba Vs Igbo and it's not a game. It is real.

Soludo as a governor will only look out for his rich friends (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba) from everywhere in Nigeria. I do not see anything new at all.

What did Soludo do as the governor of CBN?
What do you expect from Soludo who was too blind to see all the dead loans during his time as CBN governor?

I will sit and watch this drama unfold; something tells me that he's not going to be the next governor of Anambra.
The situation and outcome will be similar to the Atiku's drama, when he was determined to run for the presidential election.

Just watch.
