Politics › Re: Irigwe Community Buries 6 Of Their People Killed By Fulani Militia In Plateau by Depressed101: 12:07pm On Aug 17, 2021 |
Fejoku: May the soul of these Irigwe matyrs rest in peace. A lot of people don't still understand what's happening in Jos and it's environs. The many killings that have dominated the news recently is centred on the attacks by the fulanis against the Irigwe people of Bassa lga. The Irigwe people are a very hardworking, resilient and friendly people whose farming prowess is known by all. They also dominate the local indigenous artisan market of Jos. Though mainly from Bassa, a huge population of theirs are also found in Jos North. Bassa lga got some state government establishment not very long ago to create settlements that added it into the new Jos metropolis which today comprise of Jos North (city centre/CBD), Jos South (an old colonial developed area with lots of tin mining history), Jos East (a new addition as a result of saturation of Jos North in the eastern flank mostly occupied by the Izere people) and itself. The previous tribe that were fulani victims are the Beroms who are still being killed but the news is less reported. A lot of Berom communities have been overrun by fulani terrorists with the aid of members of the Nigerian terrorist army. Both the Beroms and the Rigwe are Christian groups. They need every support they can get from southerners and all lovers of freedom. Some people erroneously think it is Gowon's people that are being attack. Well technically they are his people since they share the same state but in the real sense, Gowon's lga of origin in further South of Jos in a remote area called Pankshin. There are hardly fulani attacks here because it is not strategic to attack. A military man like Gowon should know this and speak up against the happenings in Jos but surprisingly he remains quiet. The question on the lips of a lot of people is 'When will Gowon speak'? A rtd General and former head of state whose state capital is under external attack but has refused to speak. When will he stand up to the challenge? Only time will tell. May God protect the Beroms and Irigwes from the hands of the terrorists salivating for their lands. May God show his mercy to all the peaceful people of the state. what will gowon speak that will change anything somebody wallowing in regret and waiting for his death is who you are clamoring to save the day |

Doradorwa: Obviously I'm so angry and I just have to type this to feel better.
2 hours ago I decided to buy 1 lacasera and 1 donut to eat before seeing my project supervisor. Total sum of my purchase was #200. I bought what I wanted and a fellow coursemate saw me and she was like hailing me to buy her something. I was like "Babe no worry, I go do you well soon, abeg just chilax everywhere go good. I was saying all this because that was the last money with me. Then to my surprise the man selling the stuffs was like " shey padi da na ( Don't be stingy to your friend nah). Me that I know my pocket I continued to scope the girl but this man just continue to interrupt me so I had no choice than to buy the girl a pie and that was #150. So plus my own purchase everything got summed up to #350 and I gave the man #500. My last card ooo... The next thing the man was like "Ra drink fun ore e nah, ma shey ore ti ko pe " ( Buy drink for you friend nah, don't be stingy with your help).
I was just looking at the man like shey this one dey whine me ni. The stupid girl was still like she will manage bottle water. And I continued to tell them that the remaining change is for bike back to the hostel but the yeye man was just adding salt to my wound. Las las the man pushed the drink into the girl hands and was like " Aunty, owo yin ti pe" ( Aunty your money done complete). Haaaa... God will judge that man ooo....
I ended up buying #200 thing while the girl bought #300 thing. I'm done with my project supervisor but I have to trek back to my hostel. I swear I'm so angry. Why are some sale-people like that.

TheEnygma: Op... It's obvious you area JJc on the internet.
Due to the fact that Wikipedia is free on free basics , I literally do a lot of random researches there....
I researched on "cassava" a long time ago and I've always known that it wasn't originally from Nigeria (as you've said) but rather brought to us by the Portuguese from South America.... This should explain why most west communities found along modern day Nigeria all celebrate "the new Yam festival" but never celebrate the cassava festival because the crop didn't originate from here hence it was never part of our cultures. There are other reasons why the crop became so important to us namely; -Ability to grow and yeild no matter how poor the soil is. -It can be harvested within 3 months and replanted again unlike Yam that grows annually. - It provides a fast and easy and cheaper alternative to pounded yam. stop digracing yourself, go and ask your grandparents... Just because Wikipedia wrote it. doesn't mean it's correct... Literally anybody with an account on Wikipedia can write anything.. |

kannex: I was just strolling round the internet and i decided to stop the strolling immediately when i get to wikipedia.com website so i was just reading a lot of history about diffrent people then i my mind just asked me to search casava, immediately i search for casava i started reading, after reading few lines of the article, i saw something that made me surprise and decided to stop reading further because i believe the history about casava in nigeria was a lie, according to wikipedia this is what i saw on Wikipedia website corcerning casava in nigeria.
Originally a crop of South America, it was introduced in to Nigeria's southern part during the period of slave trade proliferated by Portuguese explorers and colonizers in the sixteenth century. However, its importance to the country got a boost in the late nineteenth century when more formerly enslaved Nigerians returned to their homeland and introduced processing techniques. Over the years, it has become a major economic sustenance crop and it has attained the status of largest producer in the world with recorded production of 34 million tonnes and is a cash crop of great importance to the people of Nigeria.
To me i dont believe this history but if this history is true, answer this questions to prove that the history on casava in nigeria that is written on wikipedia website is true.
1. If casava was originally brough in to the southern part of nigeria by the Portuguese then what food was the southern part of nigeria eaten before the Portuguese arrived.
2. According to wikipedia, processing technique was only introduce to nigeria by formerly enslaved Nigerians who were returning to their home land which means that casava was just planted and was never being used to process garri or fufu, until the 19th century now my question is was the casava just planted in the southern part of nigeria without it been used or process to garri or fufu?.
3. wikipedia said that formerly enslaved Nigerians introduce the processing technique, how did this people came to know about this processing technique when garrri or fufu was not found or been sold in any north american countries.
4. If the processing technique was introduce in the 19th century, What was this people used in eating afang, oha, efo, egusi and other soup that that was been prepared by this people was it stone..
Please help me answer this questions to prove me wrong that the history concerning casava in nigeria is true according to wikipedia
https://www.0.freebasics.com/https/en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassava_production_in_Nigeria?iorg_service_id_internal=1547440102204384%3BAfp_7UzuI5vH3XX_ op I have always asked my self that question, most of the food we eat in nigeria today were not introduced to us until the 19th century.. Are food are greatly influenced by our colonial masters.. I asked my grandma same question years (blessed mother may her soul continue to rest in peace) she told me there was a cassava, but not the type we have now, that one was bitter and black when cooked, it contained alot of cyanide. She told me there was no eba or garri. Just black bitter fufu. Achicha, lucost beans,Yam and other nutritious local foods |
