Two poverty-stricken schoolboys were left stunned after finding £2,000 in the pockets of secondhand jeans given to them by a charity.
Khamnon Kaengwichit and his cousin Nawapon Sopasereesuk, both aged nine, received the trousers from a local collection to help the poor deal with the cold winter in Thailand.
But when they tried them on at home in Tak province, northwest Thailand, they were shocked to find 100,000THB in used notes – worth around £2,000 – in the pockets.
Two poverty-stricken schoolboys were left stunned after finding £2,000 in the pockets of secondhand jeans given to them by a charity. Honest – rather than pocketing the cash, the boys returned it (Pictures: SWNS) Rather than pocketing the cash, the two boys went straight back to their teachers to return the money.
As a reward for their honesty, local authorities gave them each a 5,000THB – £100 – reward, as well as new clothes and blankets.
A teacher at the school said: ”The first thing they did when they found the money was come straight back to school and say they wanted to return it.
”The two boys have been very honest. They’ve done a very good job handing back the money. It’s a kind deed.”
District Red Cross chairwoman Nongkhran Panayakhom took officials to visit the boys and their family at their rundown wooden shack home, while school headmaster Sawat Chaniew said they were trying to trace the owner of the trousers. Yahoo News UK |

dabossman: Many people who are blaming the govt for this embarrassment don't know how football governance works. The money the govt provided is more or less a bailout fund for the NFF.
Ask yourself; can the President or even the Sports Minister sack the NFF President? The answer is no. FIFA will threaten to ban any country that tries such, because it is govt interference in football matters. The NFF is that autonomous. Now if govt cannot interfere in football matters, why should it be responsible for picking up the bills agreed to by the federation and its players?
The NFF receives money from Fifa, from its sponsors without remitting a kobo to govt or even giving accounts for such.
Personally, I think govt should hands of sports as far as funding sports federations is concerned. Let them scrap the Ministry of Sports and focus on providing sports facilities and direct funding to the National Sports Commission for grassroots sports development. Enough of funding the lasciviousness of people like Pinnick and those who were there before him. Good bless you for this whole truth. Haters easily lash out in ignorance of the real situation on ground. Unfortunately FIFA won't say anything in this show shame by nff but govt call for accountability for its funds and fifa will say political interference. |

HungerBAD: Very sad.
It has become very common to see boys living in Benin, either doing something like this for themselves or their girlfriends. And still, Benin remains one of the least developed places in Nigeria, and their bad roads should be in the Guinness Books of Records, while their old houses makes Ibadan look like Dubai.
Exactly the same character they display outside Nigeria, especially with those living in Europe. Good Governance is not an individual thing, so to the guys bursting Champagne and pouring it on an empty ground, gather the money together and use it to repair the roads in your town or even use it to buy wrappers/Gold Earrings/Handbags for your moms, instead of just pouring it away on the ground.
Nobody who earns money legitimately, acts like this anyway.
And the funny thing is, they always crawl back to their fathers "Compound" where they have a room to themselves, after this show of wealth.
And usually on threads like this, you will see one smart guy or girl ask that question NA YOUR MONEY?or HOW IT TAKE CONCERN YOU? yes it concerns us as long as it has become something public.
We have a say in a public thing. It's clear picture of what i see or hear from Benin youths that irritates me. |

gedtalks: My people pleaseeee I need sincere advise here. Your advise will definitely guide me on the next step to take.
There is a beautiful girl I've been considering getting married to, but the way she requests money and fast food is making her look very ... lol.. "hungry" and opportunistic to me. The values she sees in a man seem to me like its basically what he will BUY for her. I confess that I made matters worse initially by "fast fooding" each time we meet... Now I think she sees me like a free lunch at crunchies. If I call her in the afternoon, she says I'm hungry.. its so irritating now.. in fact I lost a lot of regards for her..but she doesn't know yet.
Recently she asked me for some money and I refused very politely..she said she was "disappointed".
I wonder if she even loves any other thing about me asides the MONEY I WILL GIVE HER. she pays ABSOLUTELY NO attention the things I want her to see in me...like level of maturity, my leadership skills, I taught she was just being childish, but lately I discovered its just her nature. her ideology about a guy is WHAT WILL I GET FROM HIM.. I might dump her .. i wont even talk to her about it. please advise me You only need the motivation to stop the relationship not advice because you can see that she is not a wife material, atleast not yet. Na leech you want marry so o! A broken engagement is better a broken marriage. |
