The funny thing about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB is that as we speak, there is no document specifying the political, economic, social, educational, etc. blueprint of IPOB as a nation-building vehicle. If they succeed in getting Biafra, it will be visionlessly worse than Nigeria. Believe me.

Every revolution or fight for self determination is driven by a cause, a philosophy, the vision of the chief driver and a practical blueprint articulated by eggheads. Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are yet to clearly articulate and communicate any of these to the general Igbo populace.

Again, every revolution or fight for a new identity has many 3 critical components: leadership team, intellectuals and foot soldiers. IPOB only has one component - foot soldiers and then a vain deity (Nnamdi Kanu). There is still a long way to go for IPOB.
I guess you meant revolutions started in prison yards and spear-headed by convicts. Africans are known to be sentimentally deranged.

Obaseki, who signed the bill in Government House, Benin City, on Tuesday, said he was aware that the bill touches on fundamental practices among the people, assuring that he was not only signing the bill as a formality, but will ensure it is implemented to the letter.

“We will not stop here by just signing the bill into law, but will commence the much difficult work of implementing it to the letter. It must be noted that this bill has been in consideration for over six to eight years but the time has come for us to have a law like this VAP Law, to protect the most vulnerable and weak in our society.

rodeo0070:
SON Intercepts Cable Counterfeiting Syndicate At Alaba International Market, Lagos

In a renewed effort to curb the menace of substandard and fake electrical cables in the country, Standards Organisation of Nigeria’s Surveillance, Intelligence and Monitoring (SIM) Unit has intercepted a syndicate specialising in the counterfeiting of genuine brands of made in Nigeria cables at the Alaba International Market, Lagos following a tip-off.

The raid was done in collaboration with the Cable Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (CAMAN) and the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (CID).

The swoop on the syndicate’s store at the Alaba market followed successful trailing of a suspicious looking consignment of cables to a location that turned out to be a hideout for the nefarious activities of the syndicate.

Speaking on the raid, the Director-General SON represented by the Coordinator SIM Unit, Mr Suleiman Isa, stated that “the organisation had been on the trail of the perpetrators for a while after eluding arrest twice. However, we were able to nab them red-handed this time, based on a tip-off from our collaborators.”

He opined that two issues of the threat to the safety of life and property as well as economic sabotage by the syndicate will receive the SON’s special attention to bring the culprits to book.

According to him, “their modus -operandi is to import either foreign branded cables or unbranded cables and re-label as certified Nigerian brands to deceive unsuspecting buyers. They then present these substandard cables with SON certification marks on the labels to fake authentication and verification to the Nigerian Consumer”.

Mr. Isa disclosed the names of the four suspects arrested as Kelechi Emanuel, Chidi Eyinna, Victor Uzor and Otugor Kingsley.

Items recovered at the scene were two fabricated contraptions used for coiling cables, labels of various local certified cable brands and 129 rolls of cable wires, according to him.

The Coordinator of SIM Unit said the investigation is still ongoing, stressing that the suspects will be charged to court by the Police on the conclusion.

Isa alluded to SON’s zero tolerance to substandard products programme in all sectors recalling that the organisation has reached out to various stakeholders and sectors for collaboration on the war against substandard products.

He commended the Cable Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (CAMAN) for their commitment and vigilance which has assisted towards sanitising the electric cable sector.

The Head of SIM enjoined other sectoral groups to take a cue from CAMAN towards boosting the efforts to protect the life and property of Nigerians, adding value to consumers and protecting the local industry from criminals and economic vandals.

My heart is saying yes to Wedding Bells but my hand is typing I don’t know yet. It’s not my making but if it comes now, I am very ready.
My expectations for 2019 is a bit high so I wouldn’t want to share with the public. By the Grace of God 2019 will be my best year ever,” she gushed.

Lamenting on what her celebrity status has deprived her, Ms Peters said: “It has taken part of the real person I am.
People always react to my curves and it gets to me. Sometimes, it’s embarrassing when peeps think my small bumbum is too big. I walk pass and everyone turns (male and female) to stare at my behind. Adding to that, I have heard people describe like “Ah ah you don’t know Inem Peter? That Actress wey get biiiiiigggg bumbum. Com’on it is God gift. I didn’t create myself.”
Reacting to the rate of celebrity marriage crash, which has become a norm, the actress says marriage is not a do or die affair.

“Having a take on issues like this is like judging who ever is involved. Who ever is wearing this shoe called marriage knows were it itches. So if a celebrity gets married, have a baby and leaves the marriage that means it’s not working and if a marriage is not working you let it go. Being a Celebrity doesn’t mean you must stay in a failed marriage,” she advised
Her heart yearns for richness and affluence not marriage. No reasonable man will fall for this hypocrite.
PoliticsRe: 'The Broom That Brings Doom' — Nigerians React To Giant Broom Project In Abuja by DerideGull(m): 10:44am On Feb 09, 2019
Ritzy10:
Nigerians have taken to social media to express disappointment over the construction of a giant broom in front of the Abuja City Gate.

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) noted that as of Thursday, it wasn’t clear what was being constructed when they began, but afterwards, it turned out to be the broom symbol of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A Twitter user, @adex0057, uploaded a photograph of the broom taken as on Thursday, and he tagged the Guinness World Records (GWR) in his caption.

The caption read: “WORLD LARGEST BROOM Attention: @GWR This is the Largest Broom anybody or group has ever [erected] anywhere in the world. This is work of some group of volunteers of @OfficialAPCNg . It deserves your recognition and honour. Location: Abuja; Date: 02/07/2019.”

The tweet by @adex0057 was retweeted by Rauf Aregbesola, immediate past Governor of Osun State.
However, the presence of the APC broom has been greeted by anger and in some cases, disappointment.
@dondekojo wrote: “These ones are installing a giant broom in front of a national monument? How insane is this?" while @Shawnife wrote: “These people don’t even rate us again. A huge broom has now been mounted in front of the City Gate.”

While @Biisi96 wrote: “What’s the meaning of this useless broom they are erecting at city gate? So this is the madness they were up to. I was confused as to what it was yesterday evening. But alas it was buffoonery in the making. I’m tired abeg,” while @TheIgboWolf wrote: “The broom doesn't represent anything to Nigerian or Nigeria. It's a symbol of a party, just one political party. But it has been mounted at the front of FCT. Again, this country is not for all of us.”

@Waynetipsy_ng tweeted: “#2019elections APC Mounts Gigantic Metal Broom At City Gate, Abuja. The broom allegedly cost a whooping N250million.”

A tweet by @dulzura_2badtz read: “Just a random question from a curious observer... so is this broom a national monument or it’s just for the election purpose and how much was budgeted for this?”

@ify_zoe wrote: “World Largest Broom. You are even tagging Guinness Book of Records without shame. If Buharism isn't a mental case I wonder what it is,” while a tweet by @NotACoquette read: “The broom that brings doom.”

@Mohd_abdul_’s tweet read: “Going to the FRANCE capital you would see... The ‘EIFFEL TOWER’ but coming to Abuja, the Nigeria capital you would end up seeing the ‘BIG BROOM’”, while @afrispheric wrote: “Imagine driving into the capital city of a country in the 21st century and one of the first things you see is a BROOM. Not a rocket. Not a super computer. Not a freedom fighter. But a dirty looking broom.”

The celebrity lawyer who stated that his basic problem with these pastors is that they are hypocrites who act as very holy people but do all the evil things behind the scene, added that they sleep with girls who are even below the legal sex having age in the country.

Maurice Ampaw who was campaigning for sex tourism to be legalized, added that many of the foreigners who have been visiting the country for tourism sleep with the ladies and pay them meager sums of money because the trade has not been legalized and institutionalized.  The lawyer who laid out ideas for sex tourism, disclosed that these ladies who will have plans to engage in the trade should be registered and medically screened by the government. After which they will be given a license and some fixed rates to work with.

He further stated that though these hypocrite pastors will oppose his idea of sex tourism and say it is a sin, however 8 out of 10 pastors in Ghana are sleeping with married women.

By Kingsley Omonobi Abuja

—Indications have emerged that hundreds of officers and soldiers of Nigerian Army and other services who have served the mandatory 35 years in service or attained 60 years of age have been served letters of retirement by the services.

Towards this end, it was gathered that many officers from the ranks of Major to one and two-star Generals have been told to proceed on terminal leave pending their date of disengagement.

The duration of the terminal leave varies from three months in some instance to six months.

Sources knowledgeable about the development said those involved include officers who either joined the military as Non-Commissioned Officers and later got commissioned as officers and officers who entered the Army, for instance, from Nigerian Military School, NMS.

It was furthered gathered that the distribution of the letters on the part of the Army by the office of the Military Secretary, Army, has unsettled many officers, having received the backing of the Presidency.

A source said one important reason this decision was taken, was the need to checkmate incidences of backlog of promotions and the top heavy hierarchy of Defence Headquarters and the services, which had been a source of worry for both the military establishment and the Presidency.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Ibadan Railway - An Attempt To Rewrite History by DerideGull(m): 1:29pm On Feb 07, 2019
FriendNG:
History will not be fair if we allow the misleading thread on front page about the construction of Lagos Ibadan Railway. While "AutoReport.Ng" might be doing so unintentionally, there is still need to put the record straight.

Currently, I believe there is not a single nairalander that follow-up infrastructural development threads like I and "Blue.3k." Especially when it comes to railway and transportation related threads.

For every new update on Lagos-Ibadan railway, I got the pictures as well as the video(s) first while many others are still searching.

Now back to the matter: AutoReport.NG claimed that Lagos-Ibadan railway starts with the administration of President Good luck Jonathan.
https://www.nairaland.com/5006756/fact-check-started-lagos-ibadan

Now the word Start might be very complex but we will decode it.

Start what exactly?

There is a clear difference between starting a project practically and starting a project theoretically on paper.

The Lagos-ibadan railway is only a segment of the larger Lagos - Kano Standard Guage Rail, which is divided into four segments.

a. Lagos-Ibadan.
b. Ibadan-Abuja.
c. Abuja-Kaduna.
d. Finally kaduna-kano.

However it was later redesigned to accommodate other state capitals like Ado Ekiti, Minna, Akure etc.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos–Kano_Standard_Gauge_Railway

Idea & Construction Of The Project On Paper:

In 2006,
the Nigerian government awarded a $8.3 billion contract to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation to construct a standard gauge railway from Lagos to Kano.

The idea of the project starts during the administration of President Obasanjo. The word awarded doesn't mean you have started the work. It's just a mere written commitment and not the work.
That is why despite Obasanjo awarding the project, not a single stone or brick was put on ground.

Due to lack of funding, the rail project was divided into 4 segments.

Abuja–Kaduna Segments ($876 million) : The construction of this segment starts with President Good luck Jonathan in 2011 and completed by President Buhari in 2016.

It is all clear President Jonathan starts the construction of Abuja - Kaduna railway segment of Lagos - Kano rail. And it was completed by President Buhari.

Lagos–Ibadan Segment

1. Who Awarded The Contract On Paper?

It was awarded by President Obasanjo in 2006 on paper and re-awarded by President Jonathan in 2012 on paper. And then renegotiated by President Buhari Administration.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/fg-to-award-lagos-ibadan-rail-contract-soon-—jonathan/

2. Who Paid For The Contract?

I watched the vice presidential candidate of a party lying on national television that "the Administration of Goodluck pay for the rail project before leaving office." That is not only false but unbecoming of someone that once occupied the seat of power.

The first and full counterpart funding of Lagos Ibadan Railway was released by the Administration of Muhammad Buhari after a series of negotiation between China & Nigeria.

(The Nigerian Team includes: H.E Rotimi Amaechi, Hon. Kemi Adeosun, among others)

Buhari Released N72BN Full Counter Part Funding For Lagos-Ibadan Railway (Jan 2017)

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/01/fg-releases-n72bn-full-counterpart-funding-lagos-ibadan-rail/

3. Who Start / Flag Off The Practical Construction Of Lagos-Ibadan Railway?

The ground breaking which marks the initial commencement of construction works for the Lagos-ibadan railway was performed by H.E the acting president Prof Yemi Osinbajo in March 2017

https://www.legit.ng/amp/1092288-osinbajo-storms-lagos-flag-lagos-ibadan-rail-line-project.html

https://www.sunnewsonline.com/excitement-anxiety-as-work-begins-on-lagos-ibadan-rail-project/amp/

If awarding of contract on paper means you have start the project then for every railway built by another administration, we can say Buhari started it. How?

Connect rail to 36 state capitals, Buhari directs

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/connect-rail-36-state-capitals-buhari-directs/

For The Records

1. The idea of Lagos Kano rail become more pronounced during the time of Obasanjo in 2016.

2. The Abuja - Kaduna segment was started by Goodluck administration in 2012 and Completed by the Buhari administration in 2016.

3. The Lagos Ibadan segment started with Buhari administration & it is already nearing completion.
What happened to the eastern axis railway line? There was a railway segment from Port Harcourt - Enugu - Makurdi - Kafanchan-Kaduna. It is mind burgling that most Nigerians will get twisted when the IPOB or other southerners talk about disintegration of Nigeria. I guess the disintegration of the cesspit allow people to take their destiny in their very own hand. It is very unfathomable to see a section of Nigeria enjoy transportation by rail while majority of the country looks in amazement. The rail transportation which is good for Yoruba, Fulani, Hausa, Kanuri and Nupe shall also be good for Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoni, Ibibio, Annang, Jukun, Idoma, Tiv and Efik.
