Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Deronke1: 6:58am On Jan 06
Yea, my passport was till very much valid for extra 3 years sef,,,

It's well Jare,, atleast i used the 6 months to deliver a Canadian citizen there. Hopefully they answer me this time again.

Eriokanmi:
Oh, well...6 months Canada TRV is very rare nowadays. I've not seen such in a long time. Since your passport expires in 2026 as you said, Canada would rather issue a visa covering the expiry of your passport, which is why I always encourage people to apply or renew with a fresh passport, to take advantage of this so you don't keep applying and waiting endlessly. You could get up to 10 years if you apply with a passport with 10 years validity

Nothing is busted

I got my canada visitors visa May 19th,2023 and it expired November 19th,2023. They gave me only 6 months. Here i am applying again. So it's possible. My passport expires 2026,, Dunno why they gave me 6 months though

Eriokanmi:
Busted grin

Some peeps aren't sincere with their stories, a good reason I stopped responding to or advising on some requests, except a few convincing ones

Yes i travelled with it to birth my baby over there and came back.
Now i want to go back and the reason I stated was to take my child who is a Canadian citizen to see our family doctor over there.

My current visa would expire soon.

Hopefully they answer me fast

Emanwel:
It MAY be treated promptly. Did you ever travel with the visa and declared it in your travel history?

Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Deronke1: 6:31am On Nov 13, 2023
How about having a valid canada visa but about to expire in like 2 weeks? Would it still be treated promptly?

adelforreal:
The time frame for visitor visa is not defined as it is at the discretion of the visa officer handling your application. However, if you have a valid US visa, your application may be treated promptly.

All the best

Thanks so much for your response but his biometrics would expire 2031

Just so surprised on his case though

Ashirioluwa:

Whether he travels or not, that cannot be used against him. Let him go ahead to apply.

IRCC uses biometric validity and passport expiration dates when issuing visas, but biometric validity comes first.

They will not issue a visa beyond the biometric validity date or passport expiration date.

If biometrics on file expire in 7 months and passports expire in 10 years, the applicant will only get a 7-month visa unless the applicant extends the biometric by paying $85 and then goes for a new biometrics again at VFS.

To receive a 10-year visa, both biometrics and the passport must be valid for 10 years.

If biometrics on file are valid for 10 years and passport valid for 2 years, the applicant will only get a 2-year visa.

Hi guys, so my brother was granted 6 months visit visa last year even though his passport expires till 2027. They still gave him 6 months,, well that's not even the issue. He was unable to travel within that 6 months given so it expired.

Now he wants to apply again but he's worried if he'll be granted the visa since he didn't travel with the last one issued.

Please what's your suggestion on his issue?

Deronke1:
Dear Visa Officer,

I am writing to you today with a heavy heart, as I find myself caught in an overwhelming state of anticipation and uncertainty. My purpose in reaching out to you is to express my deep concern regarding the delayed decision on my tourist visa application.

To begin, let me emphasize that my intentions of visiting Canada are solely for the purpose of experiencing the natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality that your esteemed country is renowned for. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to set foot on Canadian soil and immerse myself in the breathtaking landscapes and diverse communities that make up this magnificent nation.

Regrettably, my dreams have been put on hold as I continue to anxiously await a decision on my visa application. I submitted my application with the utmost sincerity, ensuring that every document and requirement was fulfilled to the best of my ability. Since then, every passing day has brought a mixture of hope and anxiety, as I monitor my email inbox for any updates.

While I understand that the visa process involves thorough scrutiny and assessment, the prolonged delay in my case has caused significant distress and frustration. The uncertainty has taken a toll on my emotional well-being, causing sleepless nights and constant worry. Every day that goes by without a decision pushes me further into a state of despair.

I implore you to kindly consider the impact of this prolonged delay on my plans and emotional state. My scheduled departure date is swiftly approaching, and I find myself torn between maintaining hope and the practical necessity of making alternative arrangements. My heart yearns for an opportunity to explore the wonders of Canada, to create cherished memories, and to build bridges of friendship and understanding between our countries.

I understand that your office receives an overwhelming number of visa applications each day, and I truly appreciate the dedication and hard work put forth by the visa officers. However, I humbly request your compassion and empathy in expediting the decision on my application. I have already invested a significant amount of time, effort, and resources into planning this trip, and any further delay would not only result in the loss of these investments but also shatter my dreams of experiencing the magnificence of Canada firsthand.

In closing, I appeal to your compassion and understanding, praying that you can find it in your heart to prioritize my application and provide me with the opportunity to fulfill my dream of visiting Canada. Your timely decision would not only bring immense joy to my life but also strengthen the bonds between our nations and foster cultural exchange.

Thank you for taking the time to read my heartfelt appeal. I eagerly await your favorable response and hope to receive the long-awaited news of a positive decision on my tourist visa application.

With sincere gratitude and unwavering hope,
