This record was taken in the Premier League era. It is normal that United would have won a minimum average of 25 games in their PL winning seasons. That would be 500 wins already. That leaves about 132 seasons unaccounted for.

It's strange to believe that in each of the rest over 100 seasons, United managed 190 wins . That means only 2 games were won per season on average

Let's talk about the headstart. Man Utd had not won any of their trophies by the time Chelsea was established. So all 66 honours were won while Chelsea was existing as a club.

I'ld have loved to give the average trophy wins per season of existence but that's like flogging a dead horse.
