US = 71 (B2) from 75 (A1) Naija = 27 (F9) from 27 (F9) But some people still believe US no reach to give us advice |
Falana should have just told NBA what to say nah instead of accusing a body of lawyers of not agreeing with his opinion. |
I thought this would even be in his presence sef. In a state of about 1m eligible voters, a thousand or two protesters won't be hard to mobilise and won't ruffle much feathers. ![]() |
I thought they said the payments were made between 2012 and 2016? Wetin concern Dubai there again? ![]() |
BabaAduras:But it isn't enough to earn Saraki a suspension? Who is the President to suspend the CJN based on his thoughts alone? Say no to jungle justice. The President cannot be judge, jury and executioner. Say no to jungle justice, o wisest one. |
Iziquiel:Let's say I do. Fire away. I know very well how the CBN governor lost his position. Do you know very well what can make that happen? That's past though don't wanna dwell on that. Today we're faced with a constitutionally backed CJN and an attempt by the Executive to cripple the Judiciary after failed attempts at doing the same to the Legislative. That's a more valid discussion |
Iziquiel:Still not interested in the Jonathan's trial you're conducting. The much I know, he is not the President. You do not see Jonathan as a hero of democracy. You do not see him as an ideal leader. Yet you use his deeds in the distant past to give a green light to Buhari's misdemeanour. And you still hurl hypocrisy accusations all over like it's carbon dioxide. *sigh* It is weakening. Very weakening to sustain a discussion of reason with your ilks ![]() |
Iziquiel:Summary: Jonathan belongs to Nigeria's past. Today is not about Jonathan. Today is about an unrepentant tyrant and what must be done to ensure tomorrow is not affected by today. All these reminiscing you're engaging in does not interest me. |
Iziquiel:I have already. I just needed to be sure that indeed you have little idea what you're talking about. |
Iziquiel:Are you absolutely sure this is the only ground on which the CBN governor can be removed? At least we are sure of that of the CJN. I need clarification on this ![]() |
Iziquiel:Another day, Another Zombie. What Jonathan did doesn't matter because he is past now. And he remains past like every other leader we've had. He is a hero because he didn't do what Buhari is doing today, trying to overrun every arm of government to ensure he emerges President by crook, and not necessarily by votes. I didn't name him hero. Those whose VISA woukd make you forget the current president's first name did. If I'm wrong about Onnoghen, being wrong alongside the United States, United Kingdom and European Union is not an awful 'wrong'. Enjoy your Buhari-induced righteousness while it lasts. The internet never forgets ![]() |
livelymatilda22:Ain't that how BMCs get into this zombified state? The paymasters give something to eat and one automatically become a sellout; sworn enemy of common sense. It's noteworthy to think beyond the stomach and more about the brain ![]() |
That's how you know scam group. Just like the last group from our region that supported Buhari, they appear only in the news where they supported the news material..and no more after that. This group is no different. .They just added 'United' to the main popular group who can never engage in such buffoonery Only two headlines.. That's all

Iziquiel:Last Nigeria knew, the case was adjourned until Monday, so the President shoukd explain how he got the order and who was the counsel. Of course he can't. ![]() President Jonathan, as long as I'm concerned belongs to Nigeria's past. And last he was remembered for was being a light of democracy in Africa. Today, we are being rebuked by US, UK and EU. My education will not allow me fool myself into pretending anything is moral in what Buhari has done. |
bkool7:Lmao!! You knew the meeting was meant to ask him to step aside because you were told thay by the Presidency who just collapsed the roof of Nigeria's democracy with one foolish act? If the NJC were so looking forward to doing this, kindly explain their absence at the swearing in. We are not guided by morals. We are guided by laws. What is moral to a jihadist is different from what is moral to a christian!!!!! |
NBA Imo State Chapter already had theirs yesterday and have given the chairman and the executives their blessings to go forth and speak their minds. Some of the key resolutions they reached are 2. That Owerri Bar hereby empowers the chairman and executive members of the Bar to attend the NEC meeting of the NBA on Monday 28/01/2019 and insist on the branch position that all legal process must be followed to ensure that this Constitutional breach is reversed. |
etin06:Any educated person who does not believe Judiciary should be insulated from harassment by Executive is not worth the money spent on his education. The last Canon of the Rule of Law is the Independence of the Judiciary. A judiciary that can be disciplined or harassed by the executive by fiat or whims can never be Independent to dispense Justice without fear or favour. The Judiciary is Lord to every person, body, agency of government etc. It presides over all persons including the President and the Federal Government and even the Supreme Court. The Labyrinth created by the NJC and the 2/3rd majority vote of the Senate is to insulate the Judiciary. It is not to shield them. It creates a process which must be complied. It makes the act of dealing with a Judicial officer expensive so that an executive cannot abuse the powers to discipline a judicial officer. No one says Onnoghen cannot be disciplined. Far from it. But there was no need for the hurry. President already have the powers, and with time he can get what he wants. But you all know the hurry in this case. The political interests. On judiciary being the most corrupt organ, of government, you are right on the money

livelymatilda22:Oh, you lively horse shyte. That's all your zombified brain could cook up? A series of Kindergarten-esque straight lines drawing practice nstead of a clean rebuttal if you thought you had something on that. Considering all your mentor could do ina live debate was '16-years PDP' to every single question he was asked, I blame you not. |
If you were to be a case study, I've got to agree we don't even need an infinite length of time for that to happen ![]() |
On return from an emergency meeting called by the members of the NBA chapter in Owerri, Imo State, a number of resolutions were reached in face of the threat to the Judiciary as members revealed ecstatically. 1. That Owerri Bar rejects in its entirety the purported and unconstitutional suspension of the Hon. CJN by the President of FRN.The motion was moved and seconded by Chief C.C. Onyeagbakor and L.U.N. Nwakaeti, Esq respectively. This is a very good step in ensuring that separation of powers remain sacrosanct to preserve our democracy and keep everyone in check.

yemaldo:Sanusi Lamido is a CBN President and his appointment is dependent on the President's authority alone. Let's remain on relevant grounds. Salami's case was widely publicized and it's a pointer to everything wrong with what Buhari did. Are you aware that even the AGF of Nigeria then pointed out that it was impossible for Salami to be reinstated as a court order was received against that on the same day? In this case, court orders were trampled upon and he proceeded to suspend Onnoghen without recourse to the constitution or due process either. The President goofed; Q.E.D. Everything about this removal, from the timing to the process spells out dictatorship. To be sincere, I've always believed Nigeria is not ripe for democracy. These are bare evidences. |
BabaAduras:To whom brain is given, sense is expected. Salami's suspension was very much in line with what is stipulated in the constitution. I'm talking trial and fact-finding that spanned 5 months and the blessing of the NJC. Not an ex-parte motion obtained from the wind in a non-existent court session. As long as everyone is concerned, they were to reconvene on January 28th. |
