Winner01, The statement here is yours
"It’s interesting we get to pick what our Creator can/should or can not/should not do. Makes me wonder who the creator is here".
You have a point here, but this very idea is the reason I always fault religious doctrines. The bible says/picks hundreds of things God did, could do and will do, things God likes and dislikes.
So I wonder, how the hell is all that correct? Last time I checked, men write books not God. |

The idea and aim seems nice anyway. Considering the fact that christianity has been so bastardized in Nigeria, I cant help but ask 'what's in it for them?'.
Perhaps, the founders are a humanitarian fraternity. |

Martinez19: I doubt christians would engage in a meaningful discussion. They come their dogma trying to convince you during a discussion. I know a handful of them on this forum that would discuss but they're apparently too delusional and egoistic to admit whenever the flaws of their faith is put to them. |

To the religious folks who would dare to think, just a very little bit devoid of religious sentiments, this is food for thought. Big time! |

Tobechuckwu: Plz what do u fink is behind their riches? We have Pastors in other countries that are also very rich(e.g Pastor Kenneth Copeland),is he a Nigerian Pastor? What is I know is that your offering nd tithe can't make a Pastor rich. There is what the bible call 'd seedtime nd harvest'! What is behind their riches? They include the following: Your tithes; Your offerings; Your seeds of faith; Your first fruits; Your good will donations. Then they write and publish cheap books such as; Sunday school manuals; Devotionals; Motivational books; learning guide for their 'disciples'. Afterwards, they compel y'all to buy by emotional blackmail. Your speak of seed time and harvest time. Funny enough, every Sunday (plus some other week days) is seed time and harvest time at once. You sow the seed while they harvest. WAKE UP BRO! |

felixomor: Saudi, Dubai, India etc are more religious than us. Yet they are ahead and developing more than us.
Our problem is failure of leadership and lack of honesty. Its an African problem as a whole. Its not religion. I quite agree with your response, though it still begs the question. Our religiousity haven't helped the 'failure of leadership' and 'lack of honesty' which you mentioned as our problem. |

sonofluc1fer: 1.,The Woman with the Smelly Toto.
Luke 8:43-48 Legend has it that a lady had blood pouring out like lava from her something. Classic Bible story for kids. Anyways, one beautiful day, this cute sexy Jew Jesus walked into town with his 12 male friends. This lady, let's call her Aunty ST (pronounced ES-Tee in the original aramaic) believed that touching the Lord would hear her smelly toto. She tossed away the 'drummer boy' tied around her waist, made her way through the crowd and touched Daddy Jesus. And Daddy healed her smelly toto. How did he perform the magic trick? |

felixomor: Peddling damaging information about a popular person he cant back up. Nice. Now you've come. The thing is you are not sure that 'he can't back it up with proof'. It's true he didn't provide proof in his brief post, but that doesn't mean that he can't prove his statement to be true. It doesn't also mean that there's no proof assuming his post is true. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Faith Oyedepo Was Treated Medically In A South Africa Hospital by DeSepiero(m): 7:48pm On May 15, 2017 |
felixomor: Just listen to your question again. So u make a claim that relates to a popular person on social media You dont think its foolishness to not back it up with evidence?
Besides have u now realized that "receiving money" for healing is a bad thing? I didn't post here with aim of determining good or bad religious acts. I just wanted to know which act of the poster you term as foolishness. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Faith Oyedepo Was Treated Medically In A South Africa Hospital by DeSepiero(m): 7:28pm On May 15, 2017 |
felixomor: No matter how u try to polish it Even according to bible, a pastor that "receive" gift in exchange for healing is a THIEF
Even if the word "thief" is not right Any word that comes up, is just as bad as "thief"
The recipient is as bad as the giver No party in a bribery is innocent Wether the giver or receiver I dont know what type of defence u r trying to put up
And that makes the recipient guilty as well So in essence do you feel that the poster was foolish because he has shown no proof that people give the pastor money in expectation for healing? |

felixomor: A pastor that collects money to heal people is a what?
Its above, clearly I don't have to copy and paste his screenshot inside the same thread again
And peddling false information in this day and age is the foolishness, I am talking about The facebook poster did NOT say that the pastor 'collects' money. He rather said that people GAVE him (the pastor) their money. See the difference. THIEF is not the word to be used here. Therefore the pastor is not the subject here but gullible followers who are said to GIVE money. Felix, if anybody was accused here (rightly or wrongly) it's the members NOT the pastor. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Faith Oyedepo Was Treated Medically In A South Africa Hospital by DeSepiero(m): 7:00pm On May 15, 2017 |
felixomor: You are funny Someone accuses someone of being a thief I tell him to produce evidence to back up his accusation Instead of producing, You tell me to provide evidence to prove that the accused is not a thief?
Please which side of Logic and common sense are u arguing from? Chai He was NOT accused of being a thief. If you insist, show me again using your logic and common sense how the facebook post accused the pastor of being a thief. You rather accused a poster of peddling false information and being foolish. So do you have proof? |

hdlight: he is 100% sure of Gods call in his life. He is already in the ministry working in the little capacity he can in the Lords vineyard. Pastoral ordination is in few months time. But there is a problem. He is weak when it comes to matters concerning the opposite sex outside the church. Pastors and ministers in the house, please, do you think he should still give himself for ordination as a pastor? wont he be deceiving himself? should he forget about the issue of becoming a pastor and face his life? will getting married solve the issue? what kind of deliverance does he heed? can he be a pastor and still be facing this battle? are there ministers that face this kind of problem or others? how can he be completely free from lust? he is in his early 30's. graduate, still single. pls help him! advice needed from men and women in the vineyard before things would go wrong.
