WoundedLamb: In Africa, women are seen as being owned by their men. This wouldn't have been a problem it the men were also owned by their women. The misogyny in Africa is such that everything a man does is correct. They either make an excuse for him or they try to reconfigure the woman to accommodate the man's excesses. I'm surprised you're this shocked cause this isn't new. NL boys and men will get to the lowest point just to support men regardless of the situation. Logic does not apply here. If a man cheats, his wife will be asked to cook well or lose weight. If a man rapes, the lady will be asked to dress better next time. Wizkid is "my guy" for having multiple ladies but the ladies are 'oloshos'. The sexism down there is becoming beastly and it's unfortunate that these guys are not aware of the kind of socioeconomic environment they are creating with thier actions. They think blindly supporting anything a fellow man does makes them more manly (something they call alpha). And when you try to reason with them, you're abused.
In fact, Nigerians don't like equality. They only cry out when they are directly affected. Men think they are superior human beings. Politicians think they are superior citizens. Force people think they are superior entities. Tribe A people think they are superior to other tribes. Straight people think they are superior to gay people. Religion "A" people think theirs is superior to others. The rich think they are superior to the poor. Etc. And this will continue forever because nobody is really advocating for equal rights. Everyone is trying to create exceptions to exclude those they believe don't deserve it. Equality does not exist among humans. Stop chasing an illusion |

Makes absolute sense.
Learn to say "NO" to urgent 10k requests when it's not convenient. You owe no one an explanation. Even if its convenient you can still simply say no if you want.
It doesn't make you stingy, it means you're in control of your choices and actions. |

Jejebabaa: Boss, not everyone of us can invest in real sector as some people lives abroad and judging from past experiences with family and friends handling businesses without owners presence was bad for me. In life, people can be sincere and be sincerely wrong which sometimes lead to business failures. Some of us maintain our sanity by investing in money market instruments like Tbills, bonds, CP and co. I quite agree with you. Individuals should be allowed to invest in tbills. Low rates is better than nothing. Like you mentioned as well, there are other money market instruments to divest into. |

If you have opportunity to lock your fund now for longer terms above 10% please do so asap. Treasury bills might go lower to single digits rate if care is not taken with all these CBN monetary policies. I never expected Emefiele to go this "low". He's trying to encourage you and I, and other insitutional investors to invest in the real economy. Following this move, I expect the rates to go lower. Our TBills rates are among the highest. |

9jatriot: I am thinking. Assuming I want to buy a car worth 10M, even though I have the cash for the car, I decide to invest it in TB or bonds. I then use the certificate of the investment as collateral to apply for a loan an the bank to use in purchasing the car.
You may argue, why not just buy the car and have peace of mind, well I can also argue that I want to use the approach to keep me financially disciplined throughout the duration of the loan and so that I can have my money back at the end of the period.
I know the experts may say, it looks foolish since the banks may be giving me the loan at say 17-25%PA, but I can also argue that (using 17% as the bank rate) if the TB is assumed to be 10%PA, that the loan may in reality be 7% for the first year. If I am reinvesting the interest then that value will continue to reduce at the end of the loan term.
Please not that the mode of repayment is not expected to be from that actual investment but from my normal means of living. That TB or bond investment is only to serve as a collateral and may not even contribute towards the repayment of the loan. The fact that I know I have a monthly commitment will in my opinion help me stay financially discipline and I can shout it to the roof top to anyone that cares to listen that I am paying for car loan so that all those that would have categorized me as money bag go around saying "non mind am, that e big car, na loan he take buy am sef".
At the whole of the whole exercise, I will have my 10M+ compounded interest and my car.
What do you guys think? Buy your car with your 10m - tell people is bought on loan if you must. When your monthly cashflow comes, which which would have serviced the loan, channel it into a dedicated savings account with a standing order - the cashflow will be invested in TB or Bonds. Cheers! |

Bonatheripper: Ok... I learnt programming very well.. Asin I've learnt node.js and react to the core level... I even finished Andela program...
Back to topic, for 5 months now I've been looking for ways now to get my feet back online to no avail, I mean I was earning a couple 1000$ from Google AdSense but it was all with trick, when Google ban the trick I lost all my money and the once I could have used to invest I didn't know how I finished it.
For months I've created many blogs and websites even open fiver and Upwork but No1 want to hire me. From too much pressure I came up with and idea to get peoples credit card. Crazy and stupidly enough they fell for it.
I had 23 credit cards in my hands. I know they're legit because I tested them with Luhn algorithm and they were all valid.
The thing is, I don't have scamming instincts and mentality in my blood.
Here I was staring at many credit card with nothing less than $3000-10,000 in them an yet I couldn't use them. My conscience battled with me for days... The Yahoo boys who encouraged me to create such a website and bomb it where anxiously waiting for results. Unfortunately I can't type out the process i used for reasons being others here may want to use...
The point now it. Just this morning my dad called and told me to be careful with my life, that fast money isn't money at all and that he knows my future is rhe biggest he's ever imagined and he don't want anything to ruin it.
I couldn't help but delete those cards from my editor, deleting the editor and formating my system to 2 months earlier in other not to remember the cards.
I didn't use any of those cards.
Why am I writing this. I've had so many failed attempts in being successful legally.... I need money to pay my fees next year because I ate the one they gave me. I'm in final year and I owe 2 years school fees Cox I've lost interest in school... I want to be independent before next year as I believe I can't get a job with the grade I'd be graduating with (Academically I'm third class material by choice)... I'm not begging anyone for money I just want u to reason this my new idea with me to see if it will work.
Ok.. the idea is. I want to create a reviews website where I review products and then link my affiliate link to that product. I intend to run Facebook ads to foreign countries everyday until January so I'd build a chatbot with atleast 2000 foreign subscribers who'd be viewing my products and maybe buy from me. I believe I'm a good writer when I write why minding typos unlike this write-up I didn't check for typos.
My question is, will this idea work? Do foreigners still buy products from Facebook ads? Is affiliate marketing still working?
If this idea won't work could u tell me something that can work? Anything at all that's legal I'm willing to put in the work.
I feel building websites is a bit saturated this days with all cheap website builders on Nairaland and Fiverr. I'm living that aspect until when I get out of Nigeria to a better country I have a business idea - interesting one. I registered a company with the CAC (a kind of start up) set up a team, registered my domain name but my web developer seems not to be able to handle all the features I desire in the website and apps. More so he got busy with other available jobs. Since I invested much trust in him with the idea, I've been reluctant to bring in another developer. If I see your portfolio, and you're interested in being part of a startup, I think we could work together. |

tyakson99: Yea.. And if you read my post very carefully, you will see it accounted for possible scenario cancellation can occur and in majority of the cases we have seen it is usually when there is a change of government such as in 2015.
But for a recruitment that is not under the threat of change of administration, why would anybody stress themselves about cancelling it when they can simply do it the way they like to appease all party. Also look at the cost aspect.
Even the immigration and DSS that were cancelled in 2015, was later revisited but there was a lot of substitution of names. I knew a guy who got the immigration job just before GEJ left office, he resigned from his banking job and boom PMB came in and cancelled it. Later in 2016 or 2017, we had they were recalled but omo, my guy no follow o, cause then he got the job through the SSG when PDP was in power.
So in essence, what am saying is that cancellation would not favour even the top politicians, the highest they would say is the process has been suspended and boom after some times you see a list from no where carrying names of people who may not even have participated in the process in the first instance. Damn |
