It is always an eyesore for me when a house is elegantly built but it will be littered with split A/C

diordaves:
In the Nigerian context, the installation cost would be prohibitive for domestic use and recurrent maintenance cost and expertise would be afurther problem.

The main reason central air-conditioning system is not prevalent in Nigeria is the air duct system (see photos) and the way we build in Nigeria. In the USA, ceiling decking system is all wood so the air duct, water piping and electrical wiring can be passed through the void and space of the wood frames.

But in Nigeria we deck with concrete, so for a duplex how would you install the air duct system if not to think out some other ways to pass the duct through the concrete which could be very costly or unsightly.

Again the poor state of power supply is another problem. You will need a heavy duty generating set to power a central A/C which most homes seldom use. Most homes for cost cutting reasons use 1KVA GenSets which can power a single unit A/C.
But to me that is just saying we should continue with the same status co, there are various VRAF system that dosen't need the heavy ones with 20HP. i Have a multisplit system that i will be installing soon with very low current usage and absolutely no surge because it is an inverter system.
Hope to shopcase that when installed. it is so efficient that when only one unit is used the split outside system reacts only to that and dosen't take the whole current as to if the three are used at once

What is the capacity of the PylonTech batteries and how much can one get it in Nigeria? Interesting stuff and thanks for sharing.
One pylontech comes with 50ah and it is a usable charge of 2200kwh.
About getting them in Nigeria i know nothing about that, but a few pages back somebody was talking about bringing the BYD batteries to Nigeria from a solar company. mine was transported down from base

Wow!
Boss, I must confess that you love value for money. Followed your building right from the beginning.

Does the inverter support lithium battery or you had to make adjustment in the charging settings?
Thank God it does that was one of the reason i went for the inverter with Charge controller. It has different variant of the inverter
Voltronic, Axpert,MPP, FSP & more i am hanging the settings for the inverter

Before the products were bought, a thorough investitation was done with the company that was supplying the product from Germany.
all the Gadgets were bought from a renowend company of Solar in Germany

mcTrinity:
the 4mm cable, is it to connect the panels to the PV combiner box or to run from the PV combiner box to the SCC?

don't want to believe it's the later
it is definetely from panels to combiner box

we had to install under the following conditions:
3S5P
That means 3 panels in series AND 5 IN Parallel to get 4200kwh

all straight to the combiner box and then about 10 metres to the power house to inverter and battery

The inverter has a surge capability of 10kva double the inverter Kva
I will be showing installation pics and the challenges that croped up

I am not a Solar contrator neither am i an Installer

To butress the point further, after correct installation, solar does not need servicing the next 25yrs you don't need diesel or oil, and no pollution and if we look at the Naija situation the next 10yrs we will probably still have challenge of Power.
25 yrs with your solar array you are still going strong and i canbet you it is very additive you will be asking yourself why you have not done this b4

FastShipping:
I find myself between rock and hard place when it comes to having solar system. I was spending 4000-4600 naira per day on petrol the last timeme I was in Nigeria. I was basically on generator 22-23 hours per day.

My problem is spending between $9500-$11,000 on European solar gadgets or inferior solar system from China or India which won't cost me more than 2 million naira but guaranteed to not hold up for more than few months as read in the available reviews online.

My dilemma is; why should I spend $9500-$11,000 on 8kva solar system on a house I don't even spend more than two weeks in a year? Does it make any sense at all? I'm just not convinced yet.
@Fast shipping we have discuss this if i can rememeber, the same happened to me the two times i was in Naija last time spent a lot of money on diesel like i told you my system was tailored to my usage with the Panels configured to my
wishes. Right it is expensive but if i am clocking 18kwh to 22kwh per day with my Panels the Charge controller is also capable of usinf´g the Grid and like i told you b4 i using the lifepo4 batteries there are a lot of advantages involved you can be totally off grid.

In a house he may likely stay 3 months out of 12. What's the depletion rate of the batteries during the 9 months duration of non usage?
Okay we are still thinking & still using our Nigerian metality, my Mercedes should and must be bigger than yours, must he buy one with a complete coverage of everything or only the necessary things. We have solar as big and as small as one wants and to Batteries he just needs to get the right ones (i.e LIFEPO4) , Tesla PowerWall, infact batteries are getting better and longer life span as before. Where i stay you have houses used only as Sommer residence and only powered with Solar if Alhaji permits i might post pictures.
It is a pity the Govt, is not Subsidizing this Energy source where i live you tell the Govt you are interested in Solar come and see how much Subsidies and incentives they start to give.
