finally started the upgrades for my system changing the Panels association due to different Voc from the old MPP solar hybrid inverter with 105v Voc to the new one
After a long musing finally took the plunge and laid me a MPP 8048 MAX since some of us have takenn to DEYE wanted to but decided to try the new MAX, so now i want to give out my original MPP 5048ms and the steca Solarix 5048 which i parralled but decide to go the 8KW route both is under vhb please get in touch if someone takes both i will add my 6 input combiner box gratis to it. Will be sold as clearance sale. The Paralled cards will be sold as well together
Every knows how difficult it is to Renew or get a new Nigerian Passport (due to lack of Booklets). The Annoucement was then made that Nigerian's living in diaspora can travel using the Visa on arrival scheme. It was even announced from the Immigration Boss (Muhammed Babandede) himslfe in a Televised view when new Visa scheme was Annnounced, but if you get to the Nigerian immigration website to apply it is totally immpossible to do because it is still only created for business People. and if you fill the form hoping to be approved 99% is certain the Visa will be rejected. Did we hear wrongy or can somebody explain the process better
On the Solar Side redid the whole circuit breaker thinghy and also added a fantastic Voltage regulator so that if the Voltage from Grid is either too high or Low it will never be let through
completely change the old system into CB and had an Automatic changeover so no more knife switch and had an LED indicator installed which shows if it is Grid or Solar
after so long of not writing just want to show the upgrades i made, decide that 5KW wasnot going to cut it so decided on what to do started to think the best possible way to increase the KW without too much stress. Axpert brought out to new inverters the Axpert MAX 7,2KW and 8,0KW but it means complete panels readjusment which i didnt want to do the having both an PV input from 250V till 500V bought my axpert where 145V mPPt range 90 till 115V
Pratically all old Lagos are swampy i reme, ber they use to call Surulere New lagos then and when we were kids when it rains in Surulere then we have crabs and Eja -aro coming out, this is why till today when it rains heavily in Lagos everywhere is water,
adrusa: This is what is called FUD, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt and it is used by many to fight new technologies they either don't like or understand. Yes, Lead acid batteries have been tested, but not trusted. Its glaring failures is the reason why the world has constantly being trying to find better alternative since the turn of the centuries and Lithium in its various iterations have been shown to be better in all ways than Lead acid.
For me, while longevity is an important attraction for Lithium, what I like most about it is its ability to hold up its voltage until it is almost completely drained. It is the reason why it is possible to take the advertised AH out of a lithium battery while that is difficult for lead acid. Of course there are so many other advantages, but I will recommend that anyone interested should read up about them.
As to BMS, BMV, Special Chargers etc, most batteries including lead acid requires all of these except a BMS. And the reason why lead acid don't require BMS is because the owners serve as the BMS. With a good BMS, your battery is protected from OVERVOLTAGE, OVERDISCHARGE, OVERCHARGE and even sometimes Short Circuit. With lead acid, the owners will have to do these by babysitting the battery. Every battery require adjustable charger. That some peope use chargers with stock parameters is because the chargers are cheaper and the owners do not know better. If you can not adjust the voltage and current of your charger to match the specifications of your battery, you will soon destroy the battery, lead acid more quickly than lithium as the BMS will always protect your lithium.
Anyone starting off, who has the capacity to get lithium should get it without hesitation, it is your best bet. You will not have to change it in 8 months to 2 years like most lead acid battery. And no one should be deceived by the hype of 10 year old lead acid batteries. In some rare cases that can happen, if the battery bank is large and rarely deeply discharged. For most people with a small bank that sees regular deep discharges, if your lead acid batteries last 4 years, you have done well. And don't be deceived by those 15 years design life. You can only get that from most if the batteries are mostly floating as it happens in some settings especially for telecoms.
And FYI, I currently have two battery banks. A 540AH lead acid that I have had for about 5 years and a 340AH LFP of about a year duration. If I have the means I have now and know what I know now about LFP more than 10 years ago when I started my solar journey, I would have started out with lithium.
Even my Electric-Fence works over GSM control which i can either activate or call sends me sms if it is bridge or tampered with , Alhaji for now, Automation is it, Hassio, Alexa, MQTT you have countless possibilities
mufutau55: True. But when one is not totally on ground, the maintenance becomes problem on renewable energy... Abi?
Hajji M.
Alhaji you know my story. I am not on Ground but my Solar has been working 24/7 with access from my base i can control absolutely everything i.e from Switching to grid and CCTV inclusive ..... thank God Naija is opened will be coming home soon and will be showcasing my upgrades with Automation for fast Everything from the Inverter A/C to the Water Pumps , Water heaters, Fridges and freezer , Alhaji it is the only way to go if one is to have peace of mind when done right
mufutau55: Thank you very much. I know you have done this successfully. Of course sir, I will surely get the high end Chinese equipments. Forget about the Hybrids then, that is for here, but Naija use is what I need. I will contact you later, so I can get some recommended equipment list from you. I hope I can do at least 5kva supported with NEPA and Generators (both small and big Sound proof). Thank you very much sir.
BTW... Anywhere I can get more on the DEYE inverters mentioned above. Thx.
Here is a link i am upgrading my solar plant but due to corona and lock was not able to come but we be home soon and will blog. The mistake most make about solar is that we expect to use our old appliances with solar and the charlatans that dosen't understand basic physics parading themselves as installers and solar Gurus
mufutau55: Na wah o. Nah that Chinese kobo-kobo side I dey o.
Hajji M.
Alhaji saw your post, solar is a fantastic deal, but please and please not any kobo kobo chinese inverter, there are high ends chinese inverters like the DEYE inverters, What we have in Nigeria are not Hybrids but mostly grid tied inverters, Hybrids inverters send back power to the grid which is not possible in Nigeria, unless one want to kill somebody. Solar works i have been using mine sine over a year and i can only recommend.
A Tokunbo Bus from Germany used only to convey goods down Mitsubishi Space gear with Chilling A/C and German MoT for Sale Price 1,8Mil. slightly neogotiable
mufutau55: Very good work on the project. Yes, this COVID era really messed-up a lot of things for everybody o. But eventually by the grace of God we shall all finished whatcwe started. Yes, it will really be nice to see how your solar and automation goes. I know you are planning a lot for that solar system. Keep us informed with your experience on this. Thanks.
Good Furniture showrooms on the Mainland:- Who can point me in the direction i.e Adresse of Good Furniture Showrooms on the mainland, need to do some comparism as per House funitures in lieu of buying. Thanks
