This is making me so sad beyond words. Why does Jonasatan have to brind bad tidings always, why? He is making this year more difficult! |
Proudly Lagosian! And I mean "bonafide" Lagosian (omo onile gangan)!! |
oyb: desperationThat wasn't even a gesture! That was an utter ridicule of the Yoruba stalwart and a ruse to water down the prestige that UNILAG held. Everything that man touches turns to dust. He is such a bearer of bad tidings. |
Tony Spike: Bro, I understand what you mean. But, is renaming a University going to replace what MKO Abiola struggled and stood for? I see a hidden motive in GEJ and the FG's action and I think you should agree with me on this. The JUNE 12 ideal is far bigger than renaming UNILAG!!!bless you! |
~Bluetooth:The name 'UNILAG' was fine just as it was, it was synonymous with class and panache but renaming it MAU just takes away the prestige in my opinion. I hate this jonasatan even more now. Gosh! |
crazy fuc.k! Who asked him? This should not take up, utter rubbish!! |
Retardeen oloshi oloriburuku mashafani omo akindanidani. |
May this never come to fruition. Anything that would keep Nigeria one and give it longevity would never come to pass. Oodua land have to be freed from the presence of Nigeria. Federalism now or we go our own way. Thanks, but no thanks, jonasatan. Carry your refinery go yenagoa. |
htajz: bad belle na waYou people know book? |
Musiwa, please shove off and stop this pollution. kilode gan? Pshew!! |
Is Soyinka no a honourary South Southerner? |
Imo? Anambra? Are we talking education in spare part dealership or cocaine courier, here? |
Dede1:Assuming you're right that Yorubas are so strong and so influential in the destiny of the ibos and that they did effectively stop the ibos from leaving Nigeria, my question is, what is wrong with you leaving now? Is it that you are afraid that we would try to stop you "again" or that you are not capable of fighting the war on your own? You do understand that the only way of being certain that we would abort your secession bid is by trying? Have you tried of recent? And don't tell me that you are still planning. For the sake of this silly debate, give me one humanistic reason why a knucklehead such as you would want to initiate a war because Ndigbo do not want to share nationality with your dumbass folksOkay, so you admit that we are dumbasses who are not capable of initiating a war, yet at the corner of your mouth, you say that you are fearful to seceed because Yorubas would jeopardise your efforts. Which is which, bruv? We are not strong enough to stop you, yet we would want to go to war to stop you? You sound confused. Please clarify, if you will. If Ndigbo want to erect Republic of Igbo land, it is their freaking business and the same goes to Yoruba with Republic of Oodua or Islamic Republic of Sokoto with Fulani or Central Republic of Middle Belt with Tiv and its group or Islamic Republic of Arewa.Well, we wish you goodluck with that. If you are able to do so successfully without blood shed then by all means, you would be an inspiration to all. You should however stop talking about it and just do it since you are confident that you can achieve it and stop using "liverless" Yorubas as an excuse for your fear. I do not give a slightest of fig if Ogoni agitate Republic of Ogoni land. Why certain foolish and moronic Nigerians are afraid of sudden or gradual disintegration of damnable countrywe are not afraid of gradual disintegration, some of us are just being factual. We have talked about this issue of disintegration for over fifty years now and yet, we are not even a able to protest against corruption successfully and oust a corrupt government yet we talk of war? We have to be real with ourselves that if we are just going to continue talking about war without anyone belling the cow, the next best thing is to look inwardly and forget about the central power. If ibos are able to seceede, as I earlier said, without spilling the blood of non ibos then by all means, do so but to say that the only route to disintegration is to fight each other is absurd. first, prove your point by getting your people out of regions you so much hate and no longer want to live with, do things the way you would have it done and empower yourselves. |
Couldn't have said it better myself, Prof. YOu hit the nail on the head and may I also quickly add that this is the vision currently being pursued by the ACN and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in particular but the powers that be are bent on frustrating that effort. We, the sons and daughters of OOdua see this and we would bring this idea to fruition and harness it. We are posturing to becoming the leader in this inevitable development and our region would be the envy of others. This is the way to go, we really do not have to sit at a round table to discuss how the federal government would continue to squander our commonwealth. If the "Niger deltans" are happy with the way they are being ruled by the ijaws and wish to continue being under the thumb of the federal government, let them continue to do so but I say and I proclaim loud and clear that Yorubas must not live in such manner. We did it in the time of Awo, we can certainly do it again. Oil, is not the be it all and end all. Ghana is thriving on its cocoa till today and Yorubaland can do the same, we need to wake up and start to look after number one. The Nigerian project has failed, though we might not be able to secede, we can become semi - autonomous. Let's do it people, we can do it. |
bayooooooo: Nairaland-Tribalism-Religion-Romance=zeroThis touched me. |
This thread has confirmed that Beaf try as he might have, to pull wool over some people's eyes, has succeeded only in ousting himself as ibo. Beaf is most definitely not an urhobo/isoko man, that, i am convinced of. Now, can some of us stop obsessing over him and his ibo brothers and just concentrate on this thread? I have enjoyed watching videos of the various Yoruba dialects - of those in oodua land and those outside of it. Please lets continue that and pay no mind to the ibos whose main purpose is to divert all threads with a large following of the Ooduites. We need to learn when to ignore them so that we can have meaningful and interesting discussion about our origin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ww2vZXAsa0 I enjoyed listening to this beninoise Yoruba highlife music. enjoy! |
Beaf is most likely ibo |
Hahahaha...Beafu Awonrinwon vex o. E pain am e won cry. Bloody agama worshipper! |
PhysicsQED: Iguana reverence was not unusual in certain parts of Nigeria in the past. Other groups held the ram in high esteem, vultures, snakes, etc and all over the world certain cultures held certain animals in high esteem. I can understand why Ilaje44 would be mad or annoyed with Beaf for the insulting pictures he's posting about his people, but people should desist from denigrating traditional Isoko religious beliefs just because of their beef with one poster, especially considering that their own people may have had beliefs that look strange or unusual in modern times.abegi! Na today? Make una all go worship una agama lizards jo! |
Ilaje44: I like that man, Shubi. Very cheerful man and one of my favourite in the documentary. |
bittyend: Lol..Beafuuu omo AWONRINWON!!! ![]() |
Ilaje44: Ofcourse they do. That thing the Yoruba call "Aworinwon" or "alegba" is HOLY in their land. If you kill it, me lady, that one na big yawa o. Acording to their tale, it is their forbear that turned into that animal, which helped their ancestors to cross the river. I bet beaf does not even know his history. And he won to dey tell an Ilaje man who him be.crossing the river from where? Na wa o, lizards of all things. Big ewww... |
\ Ilaje44: Abeg go chop pork jare. You need to go buy some white cloth for the worship of that unna lizard. Abi that lizard that according to your tales helped your ancestors cross water is no more worthy to be worshipped? They worship lizards? |
Ilaje44: Omade yi, o de da re n'oju pe oma Isale Eko wo gha rin bayi?Baawa. Omo eko wenjenle remi wa.(that was ijebu by the way ![]() |
Ilaje44: It means "bawo ni?" for instance in Ondo. That is also true of Ile-Oluji, Odigbo etc. Ilaje say:interesting. "fo" in ijebu is - say. Ijebu - "som so fo" = he/she said... I see the similarities in ilaje and ijebu. |
"keeti" = ki lo ti ri - in full. |
Ilaje44: I am not surprised at your pishos, it could be your village. You people love swine very much and I wont be surprised if you live like your pet animalsOUCHER!!!! ![]() |
