Sun of god: Lol,Not before you're banned. |
seanet01: Ibos go hear wenOju e re. Did immigration pick you up or what? |
Paul John: But Kogi was too slow to even let the refinery be commissioned before coming out, or wasn't there boundary before?you go wan share the tin if true true na your land e dey? |
yeye people. She'll come back with a flat tummy in no time. Abeg make she do the tummy tuck make we rest. |
All these hidden posts are annoying! |
Dudu_Negro: What is yanmiri's problem on these resolves that Yoruba has initiated? Why are they shitting in their pants on an issue that is a benefit to them in the grand scheme of things? Yoruba has political vision and we pioneer the dictates of national politics. This is not a talk about crime and kidnapping and fraud and scams. This is politics......national politics!I gbadun this. |
tummy tuck!!! |
Hahaha...a night of a thousand laughs. ![]() |
Musiwa, did you put that rubbish video up? What has Michelle obama got to do with western Naija? musiwa6: we did not go to the united nation to seek for state creation. we apply for united nation status in accordance with united nation article. You see insteaad of the north killing everybody ... someone has to be bold to save millions of lifes. And we are seeking a united nation status to avoid a civil war in Nigeria. |
Basket mouth: @Toaskarity thes things wey your people the want an secession, and we no go gree. So if una strong, make una come fight. Chikenah. Heheheheh, you don the fearbut they are not going all out declaring Oodua country and going ahead to print their own currency are they? They are forging a semi-autonomous state in a republic. Why must they go to war to achieve that? War might only occur if this regional regeneration idea is really a secession bid like Biafra was. |
Paul John: Do you think it's appropriate to go to the UN for the sake of just state creation. Me think the Nigeria Senate can do justice to that. I guess Itsekiri state would be carved out of present Delta and Ondo stateAre itsekiris in Ondo state too? |
mko abiola: I don't knw y ppu are applauding fashola for ds wicked amd punitive laws.this is to harsh, even criminal get bail.Did he break the law? Yes! What is such a person called? - An offender. Is the offence committed found in the criminal code? - Yes What is manner of offence does that make it? - Criminal The offender is therefore called: A criminal. |
HNosegbe: Madam Desola,I think you're confused. The risk cannot be manslaughter, the charge would be, in the eventual death of the victim. The risk would be endangering the lives of pedestrians. |
Reference: That's it. Once you start making exceptions, the next thing you'll hear is government issuing permits for this and that and then money bags latch on and the whole thing caves in. 1983 import waiver scandal all over again. Just make laws you can live with no matter the cost.I wasn't saying that emergency services are allowed to drive facing oncoming traffic, though. What I meant was that lanes such as the BRT and speed limits and sirens would be available to emergency services and rightly so. |
billante: Its ur right to call someone degrading names! But when someone calls u a slowpoke, it pains u! See ur life...when u give respect u get it back! The last place I would seek respect is from an ibo. How can you give what you don't have? |
Adrenaline: Does this law apply to Fire-fighters, Mopol responding to armed robbery distress calls, ambulances and allIt would not apply to the state emergency services and some private hospital ambulances, I suppose. It shouldn't. |
HNosegbe: You know, I am so pissed by the way our leaders think sometimes. For the love of God, why send a traffic offender to prison? The same prison that contain hardened criminals? Is there even space available in those prisons? Have they considered the impact of the stigma that he'll suffer for the rest of his life by reason of being an ex-convict? So you wanna ruin a person's life simply because he drove against traffic? Do they think an ex-convict has any shot at a real life in this country?Don't be silly! That is such a lame excuse for not punishing an offender - "is there even space availale in those prisons" what an argument! I wonder if you would be so concerned about the stupid stigma if he had hit you - an innocent pedestrian. What irrational mentality! The same law that is seeking to protect you and your rights as a pedestran or road user is the same one you're kicking against. I just don't understand Naija people. |
kj_hova: Hey @Desola,I reiterate - this is NOT a civil case. How exactly is a civil case defined i n Nigeria for goodness sake. Civil cases do not seek to punish but to provide restitution and award damages. This is a clear criminal case for crying out loud. There is a law which has been set out that whosoever breaks it would be tried and punished accordingly. Yes, I do agree that the punishment is heavy handed for a first time offender and I believe that his counsel should be able to plead for leniency which I doubt less that the magistrate would turn a a deaf ear to. This case is setting precedent and the offender is being made as an example here and to serve as a deterrent to other future offenders. I sincerely think he would come out with a lighter sentence if he gets a good counsel to plead his case before the magistrate. |
This brain drain must stop! Africa arise! |
topatee: Fashola is running the 2nd Leg of his tenure and as such he is not seeking re-election, so he can afford to pass any kind of law, but what legacy is Fashola trying to lay? With reference to the above, I would say that this is the more reason why this law is apt. He thought it through and he knows what it means to uphold the law and its application. I pray that the next Lagos state governor would be a lawyer or at least someone who is conversant with the law and know how it should be applied. Sanity must be brought back to Lagos. Step by step, we shall get there. |
luvinhubby: I definetly agree with Seun, there is no need being sentimental about JUSTice. You are sending someone to 1yr imprison for traffic violation, which is purely a civil disobedience in not only an inJUSTICE, but purely DRACONIAN.How can it be civil when it is clearly criminal? This isn't between two individuals or corporate body but between and individual and the state so it is most definitely criminal. Yes, the penalty might be extremely harsh but he could have killed someone in the process. Must we wait until someone dies before getting strict on such offences? You would be surprised at how something you class as being civil could quickly turn criminal when someone loses his/her life and the offender would then be facing a death or life improsonment sentence. There is no doubt that the punishment is harsh but it is possible that one year is the maximum sentence which could be doled out by the magistrate but not necessarily in this case. I think judges/magistrates have discretion in handing down sentences. |
billante: Sillyness at d highest order! Tribalist slowpoke!! How will u call someone a satanI can call him one because I deem him to be one. It is clearly not right in your opinion but that is the beauty of human right. You have the right to your own opinion. Yes, yes, i'm a tribalist. slowpoke? Now that is a name synonymous to your ilk, darling. |
Eziachi: I think you are very very talented indeed!I'm flattered, thank you. I am a tribalist afterall. Jonasatan is a befitting name for the current nincompoop in power, in my opinion. And don't be silly, old foggie. You and I know that Stella's agenda is ethnically motivated but I can forgive you because being ibo, you are a sycophant and anything your tribesmen/women do, wether good or bad, is right to you all. You can be forgiven for this afterall this is a "chop I chop" government. |
slimdiggi:reduced sentence but most definitely not an acquital when he has confessed to the offence. If the law is a strict liability one then there is no escaping it except the LAWMA decide not to prosecute. Once it gets to court, he would undoubtedly be found guilty. |
Abeg leave this kind of bragging to the okoros. |
OAM4J: I think he is referring to directive of the minister for the airlines to consider Enugu instead of Abuja. So the Mallam think she has an ethnic agenda since the minister is from South East.which she does but she is able to rebut that claim by saying that Enugu is equally a federal government international airport and in order to boost all aspects of the country's air traffic sector, it is only right to ask these carriers to consider flying to Enugu(although this is a veiled economic duress being exerted by her and geared toward diverting revenue to her side of the country). However, descerning minds can read through this for what it really is. Jonasatan's government is generally a tribalistic one geared at spiting the Yorubas and Hausas in my candid opinion. The ibos are happy and careless about this because as they see it, the Yorubas and Hausas have been milking the country dry since their failed attempt at secession so they see this as their time to chop and Jonasatan is delivering that. |
Esss: IMO Sate deserve the leader they get...Couldn't have said it any better! He has blatantly trampled on the said culture he is trying to "preserve". How can you disrespect the customs and custodians of tradition in such manner by being so autocratic and dictatoral? He probably needs to be reminded that his culture, customs and traditions came even before the advent of the state. Before there was a positivistic state, there existed the tradition and the people's way of life and that in a normal African society, the traditional leaders have more sway than the state leaders. He has no traditional right to dethrone a traditionally installed leader all for the flimsy excuse of not speaking ibo in a traditional setting. The state really need to seek working side by side with the traditional rulers and not imposing sanctions and law upon them. Doing this would express good governance but Rochas in his blind sight of protecting culture have kicked the cornerstone of the same culture to the dust. Sheer display of arrogance and disrespect! |
Da infamous: are you slow in thinking?igbo is weed abi? bloody hoe!!!Nah...hoe is what is between your mother's legs. Igbo on the other hand is indeed weed, cannabis, marijuana etc. Ibo people are obo. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA... ![]() |
bigass: he was forced to resign in fact we can say he was sacked by GEJJonasatan get liver to sack anybody? |
Onlytruth: Also the second leg of my question is why the so called "dominated groups" are always fighting to keep the "dominating group" in Nigeria?don't flatter yourself boy! That you have domineering, arrogant, annoying attitude does not mean you are dominating. You lot just suffer from delusion of grandeur but I suppose we should suffer you fools gladly as it makes you all sleep at night. The "dominated" not letting the "dominating" go. What a load of baloney! |
